에스터기를 가지는 무수물과 다양한 아민 단량체를 이용한 폴리이미드 필름 (Polyimide Films Using Dianhydride Containing Ester Linkages and Various Amine Monomers)

  • Trimellitic anhydride chloride와 hydroquinone을 이용하여 hydroquinone bis(trimellitate anhydride)(HQ-TA)를 합성하였다. 합성된 HQ-TA와 6가지의 다양한 디아민들을 사용하여 전구체 polyamic acid(PAA)를 합성한 후, 열적-및 화학적-이미드화 반응을 거쳐 에스터 그룹을 가지는 폴리이미드(polyimide, PI) 필름을 합성하였다. PI 합성은 구조적으로 다양한 방향족 디아민을 사용하였다. 각 디아민 구조에 따른 유리전이온도($T_g$)는 167-$215^{\circ}C$를 보였고, 초기분해온도(${T_D}^i$)는 $364-451^{\circ}C$를 나타내었다. 가장 향상된 열팽창 계수(coefficient of thermal expansion, CTE)와 가스차단성은 TFB(3.23 $ppm/^{\circ}C$)와 4,4-ODA(< $10^{-2}cc/m^2/day$) 단량체를 각각 사용하였을 때 보였다. PI 필름의 투과도는 500 nm에서 65-89%를 보였으며, 노란색 정도를 나타내는 황색지수(yellow index, YI)는 3.01-69.52를 보였다.

동학(東學) 윤리관의 확장과 변화 (A Study on the Extension and Change of the Ethics of Donghak)

  • 수운 최제우의 시천주(侍天主)는 인간이 천주를 모셔야 한다는 의미이다. 그는 성경신(誠敬信)을 다하여 천주를 내 마음 속에 모셔야 한다는 윤리를 제시하였다. 그것은 천주가 인간에 내재되어 있기도 하지만 외재성이 더 강한 데에 근거한 윤리이다. 반면에 인간의 주체성이 강조된 유교적 윤리로서 선왕(先王)의 고례(古禮)와 인의예지(仁義禮智)를 제시하기도 한다. 그의 시천주는 해월 최시형에 이르러 인간의 주체성이 강조된 인시천(人是天)으로 변화한다. 그에 대한 윤리로서 사인여천(事人如天)이 제시된다. 또한 경천(敬天) 경인(敬人) 경물(敬物)의 윤리를 제시하였다. 수운의 윤리가 주로 경천이었다면 경인과 경물로 확장된 것이라고 할 수 있다. 그것은 의암 손병희에 인간의 주체성이 더욱 강조되어 인내천(人乃天)으로 변화하고 그 윤리로서 자성(自誠) 자경(自敬) 자신(自信) 자법(自法)의 윤리가 제시된다. 더욱이 유교적 윤리인 인의예지도 문서라고 말할 정도로 그 주체성이 보다 심화된 윤리로서 선(善)을 제시하였다. 해월의 윤리는 수운의 윤리에 대하여 확장된 것이지만 의암은 수운의 윤리에 대한 변화라고 할 수 있다. 의암의 변화는 수운의 윤리와 무관하게 새롭게 정립한 것이 아니라 인간의 주체성을 강조한 것이다. 이처럼 동학의 윤리관이 확장되고 변화했던 원인은 수운에서 찾을 수 있다. 그는 유교의 시대가 끝났다고 개탄하면서도 인간주체성이 강조된 유교윤리의 영향이 남아 있었다. 이 때문에 해월을 거쳐 의암에 이르기까지 인간주체성이 강조된 윤리로 변화했던 것이다. 물론 유교윤리의 영향만으로 보기는 어렵다. 당시 유행했던 범신론과 사회진화론의 영향도 있었던 것이다.

자외선 B 조사 마우스에서 피부손상에 대한 보중익기탕의 효과 (The effect of Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang on ultraviolet B-induced skin damages in mouse)

  • The effect of Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang (BZYQT) on the changes of ultraviolet (UV) light B radiation-induced apoptotic sunburn cell (SBC) and epidermal ATPase-positive dendritic cell (DC) in SKH1- hr or ICR mouse were investigated. The mice were treated with UVB (200 mJ/$cm^2$) and were sacrificed 24 h later. BZYQT (50 mg/kg of body weight) or vehicle (saline) was given i.p. at 36 and 12 h before irradiation, and 30 min after irradiation or BZYQT cream (0.2%) or cream base (vehicle) was topically treated at 24 h and 15 min before irradiation, and immediately after irradiation. The skin of SKH1-hr mouse prepared from the back of untreated mice exhibited about 0.3 SBC/cm length of epidermis, and 24 h after UV irradiation, the applied areas show an increased number of SBCs. But the frequency of UVB-induced SBC formation was reduced by intraperitoneal injection of BZYQT extract (p < 0.01). The numbers of DC in normal ICR mouse were 628.00 ${\pm}$ 51.56 or 663.20 ${\pm}$ 62.58 per $mm^2$ of ear epidermis. By 1 day after UVB treatment, the number of ATPase-positive cells/$mm^2$ were decreased by 39.0% or 27.1% in i.p. or topical application group with vehicle. Treatment of BZYQT was associated with increase of 33.9% in i.p. group (p < 0.05) or 2.7% in topical application group in the number of ATPase positive cells compared with the irradiation control group. The results presented herein that BZYQT administration could reduce the extent of skin damages produced by UVB.

  • Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films were prepared with RF-PECVD (Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) method on coming glass and silicon substrates using methane ($CH_4$) and hydrogen ($H_2$) gases. We examined the effects of $CH_4$ to $H_2$ ratios on tribological and optical properties of the DLC films. The structure and surface morphology of the films were examined using Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The hardness of the DLC film was measured with nano-indentor. The optical properties of DLC thin film were investigated by UV/VIS spectrometer and ellipsometry. And also, solar cells were fabricated using DLC as antireflection coating before and after coating DLC on silicon substrate and compared the efficiency.

Anti-Stress Effects of Ginsenoside Rg3-Standardized Ginseng Extract in Restraint Stressed Animals

  • We tested whether ginsenosides $Rg_3$-standardized ginseng extract (RGE) has anti-stress effects in restraint-stressed animals. RGE increased time spent in the open arms and open arm entries in the elevated plus-maze test. In addition, RGE blocked the reduction of center zone distance and stereotypes behaviors in the open-field test. RGE also increased head dips in stressed mice, indicating anxiolytic-like effects. Stress decreased movement distance and duration, burrowing, and rearing frequency but increased face washing and grooming. RGE significantly reversed burrowing and rearing activity in stressed mice. In addition, we measured sleep architecture in restraint stressed rats using EEG recorder. Stress increased rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, but total sleep and non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep were not changed. RGE did not affect sleep architecture in stressed rats. These behavioral experiments suggest that RGE has anti-stress effects in restraint-stressed animal models.

주배선반용 로봇 스위치 보드 시스템의 개발 (A Development of a Robotic Switch Board System for Main Distributing Frames)

  • A main distributing frame(MDF) is an interface unit that is used to connect office equipment cables in a telephone company to subscriber cables. Until now, there is no automated switching system for MDFs in Korea. Manual handling of an MDF has some drawbacks; It is time-consuming, very cumbersome, and expensive. It also makes maintenance hard. An automated main distributing frame system is proposed and commercialized in Japan. In that system, a robot gripper inserts connecting pins into the cross point holes of a matrix board, which reveals several disadvantages in the aspects of space, maintenance, fault tolerance, and economical efficiency. This paper describes a newly developed robotic switch board system for MDFs. In the developed system, switches are placed at the cross point of a matrix board. There is one robot in between two switch units, so one robot deals with two switch units. In the system, positioning the robot, opening and closing switches can be done by using only a pair of motors and a pair of solenoids. The newly developed system is compact in size, reduces cost, and shows high reliability.

한국형 간호사의 성 태도와 신념 조사도구(Sexuality Attitudes and Beliefs Survey)의 적합성 평가 및 적용 (Evaluation and Application of the Korean Version of the Sexuality Attitudes and Beliefs Survey for Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the Sexuality Attitudes and Beliefs Survey (SABS) and to assess SABS for Korean nurses. Methods: The Korean version of SABS was developed through forward-backward translation techniques. Internal consistency reliability and construct validity using confirmatory factor analysis were conducted using PASW+ PC Win (18.0) and AMOS (18.0). Data were collected from 567 nurses who worked in one of six general hospitals across the country. Results: The Korean version of SABS showed a reliable internal consistency with Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of subscales ranging from .59 to .73. Factor loadings of the 10 items of three subscales ranged from .38 to .83. The three subscales model were validated by confirmatory factor analysis (GFI>.97, RMSEA<.05). Sexuality attitudes and beliefs for Korean nurses were more negative than that of European or American nurses. The SABS scores for Korean nurses were significantly different according to age, marriage, education, clinical experiences, and feeling about sexuality. Conclusion: The Korean version of SABS has satisfactory construct validity and reliability to measure Korean nurses' attitudes and belief toward sexuality. Education is essential to enhance importance and self-efficacy and to relieve barriers to addressing patients' sexuality.

LSC를 이용한 생활용품의 발열량 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heat Release Characteristic of Household Items using LSC(Large Scale Cone Calorimeter))

  • For this study, fire tests were performed targeting household items (Sofa, Drawer, Refrigerator, Washing machine) using a large cone calorimeter (Large Scale Cone Calorimeter, LSC). The data were obtained focusing on the fire characteristic of the data when the actual fire occurs. The study results showed the following mean HRR of the household items; drawer 2843 KW, sofa 2939 KW, washing machine 719 KW, refrigerator 2907 KW, and THR is found in sofa 2202 MJ, drawer 1559 MJ, refrigerator 1193 MJ, washing machine 627 MJ. From the result, it could be found that the sofa can cause significant heat generation when the fire occurs, and the flashover tendency was found relatively high in compartment fire. In addition, a weight of the four our household items was reduced sharply in a similar time (20min before and after) degree after ignition. The drawer and sofa which has a high heat release can be considered to speed up the fire spread as their weight decrease rapidly and showed relatively weak to the fire compared to the refrigerator and washing machine.

The Influence of AlN Buffer Layer Thickness on the Growth of GaN on a Si(111) Substrate with an Ultrathin Al Layer

  • It was studied the effect of a pre-deposited ultrathin Al layer as part of a buffer layer for the growth of GaN. AlN buffer layers were deposited on a Si(111) substrate using an RF sputtering technique, followed by GaN using hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE). Several atomic layers of Al were deposited prior to AlN sputtering and the samples were compared with the others grown without pre-deposition of Al. And it was also studied the influence of AlN buffer layer thickness on the growth of GaN. The peak wavelength of the photoluminescence (PL) was varied with increasing the thickness of the GaN and AlN layers. The optimum thickness of AlN on a Si(111) substrate with an ultrathin Al layer was about $260{\AA}$. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images showed coalescent surface morphology and X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed a strongly oriented GaN(0002) peak.

Identification of Two Entomopathogenic Bacteria from a Nematode Pathogenic to the Oriental Beetle, Blitopertha orientalis

  • A pathogenic nematode, Butlerius sp., was isolated from Oriental beetle, Blitopertha orientalis. The infective juveniles exhibited dose-as well as time-dependent entomopathogenicity on the larvae of B. orientalis. Two bacterial species, Providencia vermicola (KACC 91278) and Flavobacterium sp. (KACC 91279), were isolated from the infective juveniles and identified. P. vermicola outnumbered Flavobacterium sp. in the nematode host, in which the colony density of P. vermicola was found to be 21 times higher than that of Flavobacterium sp. However, when the two bacterial species were cocultured in culture media without the nematode host, they showed similar growth rates. Both bacteria induced significant entomopathogenicity against Spodoptera exigua larvae infesting economically important vegetable crops, where P. vermicola was more potent than Flavobacterium sp.
