고령장애인의 노동시장 이중차별 실증적 분석 -임금노동자의 고용차별과 임금차별을 중심으로- (Empirical Study on Double Discrimination on the Elderly with Disability in Labor Market -Focusing on Employment Discrimination and Wage Discrimination of Wage Earners-)

  • 본 연구는 고령장애인의 연령과 장애로 인한 노동시장 이중차별을 검증하기 위해 고령장애인(50-64세) 임금노동자의 고용확률과 임금수준을 청장년장애인(15-49세)과 비교하여 연령차별을, 또 일반고령자(50-64세)와 비교하여 장애차별을 각각 Oaxaca(1973)의 분해방식을 이용하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 첫째, 고령장애인의 연령에 따른 청장년장애인과의 실질적인 고용확률의 격차는 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 상용직에서만 나타났고 차별(32.2%) 보다 특성(67.8%)에 기인한 것으로 분석되었다. 반면 고령장애인과 청장년장애인의 실질적인 임금격차는 특성(7.95%) 보다 차별(92.05%)에 기인한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 고령장애인의 장애로 인한 고령일반인과의 실질적인 고용과 임금수준의 격차는 발생하지만 그 수준은 통계적으로 유의하지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 즉, 고령장애인은 노동시장에서 연령과 장애로 인한 이중차별은 없었지만 청장년장애인과는 구분된 고용정책이 필요하며, 일반고령자와는 통합적인 고용정책이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

한국의 온도기후와 생물의 계절변화 (The Thermal Climate and Phenology in Korea)

  • The phenological phenomena in terms of year day index (YDI) in South Korea were studied. The YDI was proposed here, because the remainer index such as Nuttonson's index is unadequate for the interpretation on the phenological phenomena of early spring season in sourthern coastal area. The YDI was calculated by summing daily mean temperature of the year days (YD) above physical zero degree in centigrade, based on the data of the Monthly Weather Reports from 1967 to 1980 by the Central Meteorological Office. The pattern of YDI increase with the increase of YD was similar to that of the remainder index such as the Nuttonson's index. The some YDI distribution maps were made by Yim and Kira (1975), dividing into 30'$\times$40' meshes, in latitude and longtude, on the topographical map(1 : 500,000) of the Korea Peninsula. According to the year day of different localities flowering dates of Prunus yedoensis and other phenological phenomena in various species delayed about 3.5 day as the increase of 1 degree of latitude, which coincides with the Hopkins bioclimatic law. It was found that the YDI is useful to interprete the phenology of plant and animal species and to select the optimum range of cultivars in South Korea.

  • 레이다비콘(Racon)은 선박이 운항하면서 해상에 짙은 안개가 끼거나, 야간 등 시계가 불량할 때 위험한 암초 등 항행 장해물을 회피하거나, 지정된 항로를 레이다 화면에 표시하여 항해자가 안전하게 운항할 수 있도록 도와주는 항행장비이다. 기존 레이다비콘에 AIS(Automatic Identification System)기능을 부가한 차세대 레이콘을 e-Racon (Enhanced Radar Beacon) 개발을 연구하면서 기존의 안테나를 IALA Rec. R-101 이 규정하는 안테나 요구사항에 적합한 e-Racon 안테나로 기능을 개선하는 연구를 하였다.

Rapid and Specific Detection of Acidovorax avenae subsp. citrulli Using SYBR Green-Based Real-Time PCR Amplification of the YD-Repeat Protein Gene

  • The aim of this study was to develop a SYBR Green-based real-time PCR assay for the rapid, specific, and sensitive detection of Acidovorax avenae subsp. citrulli, which causes bacterial fruit blotch (BFB), a serious disease of cucurbit plants. The molecular and serological methods currently available for the detection of this pathogen are insufficiently sensitive and specific. Thus, a novel SYBR Green-based real-time PCR assay targeting the YD-repeat protein gene of A. avenae subsp. citrulli was developed. The specificity of the primer set was evaluated using DNA purified from 6 isolates of A. avenae subsp. citrulli, 7 other Acidovorax species, and 22 of non-targeted strains, including pathogens and non-pathogens. The AC158F/R primer set amplified a single band of the expected size from genomic DNA obtained from the A. avenae subsp. citrulli strains but not from the genomic DNA of other Acidovorax species, including that of other bacterial genera. Using this assay, it was possible to detect at least one genomeequivalents of the cloned amplified target DNA using 5 × 100 fg/µl of purified genomic DNA per reaction or using a calibrated cell suspension, with 6.5 colony-forming units per reaction being employed. In addition, this assay is a highly sensitive and reliable method for identifying and quantifying the target pathogen in infected samples that does not require DNA extraction. Therefore, we suggest that this approach is suitable for the rapid and efficient diagnosis of A. avenae subsp. citrulli contaminations of seed lots and plants.

백작약(Paeonia japonica)의 항산화, 트롬빈 저해, 암전이 억제 및 암세포사멸 평가 (Evaluation of Anti-oxidative, Anti-thrombin, Anti-invasive and Pro-apoptotic Activities of Paeonia japonica)

  • 백작약 물 추출물과 유기용매 분획물들의 항산화 활성, 트롬빈 억제 및 구강암세포주에서의 암전이 억제 및 암세포 사멸능을 확인하였다. 에틸아세테이트 분획물이 85.13%의 높은 항산화 활성과 87.54%의 높은 트롬빈저해 효과를 나타냈으며, 또한 구강암세포주에서도 트롬빈 처리에 의해 활성화된 MMP-2/pro-MMP-2이 높은 암전이 억제 활성을 나타냈다. 그리고 구강암세포주에 대한 세포사멸 효과는 물 추출물이 5배 이상의 높은 능력을 보였다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 백작약 에틸아세테이트 분획물은 새로운 항산화제, 트롬빈억제제 및 암전이억제제의 개발을 위한 우수한 천연물 소재 후보 물질로서의 가능성을 제시하고 있다.

Mutantional analysis of tumor suppressor gene p53 in human oral squamous carcinoma cell line YD-9

  • Oral squamous carcinoma (OSC) is the most common malignant neoplasm of the oral mucosa. Although the etiology of OSC is not fully understood, accumulated evidences indicate that the activation of proto-oncogenes and the inactivation of tumor suppressor genes underlie the disease development. An OSC cell line, YD-9 was newly established and characterized. However, the mutational analysis of p53 gene was not performed. Thus, in this study, the presence of mutation in the p53 gene was examined by amplification of exon-4 to -8 and subsequent DNA sequencing. Two point mutations were found in exon-4 and -6: A to G, resulting in amino acid change Tyr to Cys in exon-4, and C to G, resulting in amino acid change Gly to Arg in exon-6, respectively. Any mutation was not found in the exon-5, -7 and -8. The presented results would contribute to basic research to understand the biological mechanism of OSC using YD-9 cells.

구강암 세포주에서 실망초 추출물의 항암효능 (Anticancer effect of methanol extract of Erigeron bonariensis on oral cancer cells)

  • Objectives: Erigeron bonariensis is a type of Erigeron found throughout the tropical and subtropical areas as one of the perennial plants or pioneer plants. It is known to show detoxifying, antipyretic, and anticancer effects for various cancers. However, there are no reports on the anticancer effect of E. bonariensis on oral cancer cells. In the present study, we investigated the effects of the methanol extract of Erigeron bonariensis (MEEB) on the inhibition of cell growth and induction of apoptosis in mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) cell lines, including the MC3 and YD15 oral cancer cells. Methods: MC3 Cells were treated by dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) or methanol extracts of 20 various natural products 20 ㎍/mL for 48 hours and cell viability were analyzed as Trypan blue exclusion assay. The effects of MEEB treatment on the cell viability of MC3 and YD15 cells, for 48 h, were analyzed by Trypan blue exclusion assay. The anticancer efficacy and apoptosis of oral cancer cell lines were analyzed by western blot analysis. The statistical significance of differences between groups was analyzed by Student's two-tailed t-test. A value of P<0.05 compared to the vehicle control was considered statistically significant. Results: Among 20 different naturally derived products, MEEB significantly inhibited cell viability and increased cleaved poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase 1 (PARP) protein in the MC3 and YD15 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. Conclusions: These results suggest that MEEB can be used as a natural anticancer drug for the treatment of human oral cancer.

Flusilazole의 훈증 효과에 의한 양파검은곰팡이병균(Aspergillus niger)의 포자 형성 억제 (Inhibitory Effect of Flusilazole on the Spore Formation of Aspergillus niger Causing the Onion Black Mold in Vapour Phase)

  • 1998년 전남 신안군의 양파 상온 저장고에서 발생한 검은색의 곰팡이는 검은곰팡이병을 일으키는 Aspergillusniger로 동정되었다. A. niger AnYD-1은 3$0^{\circ}C$에서 균사생장, 포자발아 그리고 양파에 대한 병원성이 가장 양호하였다. PDA 배지 상에서 실시한 in vitro의 실험에서 flusilazole과 hexaconazole은 A. niger AnYD-1의 균사 생장 억제 효과는 적었지만, 병원균에 살균제를 직접 처리하지 않고 증기 상태로 처리하였을 때 포자의 형성을 강하게 억제하는 특이적 인 훈증효과를 보였다. Flusilazole과 hexaconazole의 훈증의 효과는 사용하는 용매, 처리 농도와 배양 온도에 따라서 차이가 있었다. Dimethylsulfoxide와 dimethylformamide를 용매로 사용하였을 때 가장 높은 효과가 나타났으며, 고온에서 배양할수록 포자형성 억제 효과가 크게 나타났다.
