승압헝 컨버터의 직렬 배열에 의한 펄스전압 발생회로 (Pulse generator using series-connected boost converter)

  • This paper introduces an improved pulse generator using power semiconductors. The proposed circuit consists of the series connected boost converter structure. In the presented circuits, high voltage pulse is generated by series-connection of capacitors and IGBTs. The charging of capacitors and voltage balance of IGBTs is done automatically. To verify the proposed circuit, 1kV, 25A pulse generator is manufactured and tested.

Control of Connectivity of Ni Electrode with Heating Rates During Sintering and Electrical Properties in BaTiO3 Based Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors

  • $BaTiO_3$ based multilayer ceramic capacitors with Ni electrodes can be explained as 2-2 composites with different thermal expansion coefficient and sintering behaviors. To achieve the high capacitance and reliability of MLCCs, a homogenous Ni electrode configuration with high connectivity is required. We controlled the heating rates during sintering to achieve densification by suppressing grain growth. Experimental results revealed that a large heating rate gave high connectivity of Ni electrode, high capacitance, small dissipation factor, high breakdown voltage, and high reliability of MLCC chips.

고유전율 자기 캐패시터용 재료의 전기적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electrical properties or the Ceramic capacitor's material with High dielectric constant)

  • In this paper, a study on the electrical properties of ternary compound ceramics $[(1-y-x)BaTiO_{3}-ySrTiO_{3}-xMgTiO_3]$ fabricated 7 samples with each mol[%] by using the mixed oxide method. In this case, the sintering temperature were at $1,250[^{\circ}C]$ for 2[hr]. Also made ceramic capacitors from 7 samples, temperature coefficient of the capacitance and the variation of relative dielectric constants and loss with fixed frequency (1KHZ) were studied. In some ceramic capacitors, has shown very good properties of the dielectric constants and loss. In case of BSM-11 ceramic capacitor, is sure to the commercial capacitor which shows steady properties.

  • Advanced back-end processing requires the integration of low-k dielectrics and Cu. However, in the presence of an electric field and a temperature, positive Cu ions may drift rapidly through dielectric and causing reliability problems. Therefore, in this paper, Cu+ drift diffusion in two low-k materials and silicon oxide is evaluated. The drift diffusion is investigated by measuring shifts in the flat band voltage of capacitance-voltage measurements on Cu gate capacitors after bias thermal stressing. The Cu+ drift late in $SiO_{x}C_{y}\;(2.85{\pm}0.03)$ and Polyimide(2.7${\leq}k{\leq}3.0$) is Considerably lower than in thermal oxide.

  • In this paper, the recent progress of RF MEMS research for wireless/mobile communications is reviewed. The RF MEMS components reviewed in this paper include RF MEMS switches, tunable capacitors, high Q inductors, and thin film bulk acoustic resonators (TFBARs) to become core components for constructing miniaturized on chip RF transceiver with multi-band and multi-mode operation. Specific applications are also discussed for each of these components with emphasis on for miniaturization, integration, and performance enhancement of existing and future wireless transceiver developments.

Multi-objective Capacitor Allocations in Distribution Networks using Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

  • This article addresses an efficient heuristic-based approach to assign static shunt capacitors along radial distribution networks using the artificial bee colony algorithm. The objective function is adapted to enhance the overall system static voltage stability index and to achieve maximum net yearly savings. Load variations have been considered to optimally scope the fixed and switched capacitors required. The numerical results are compared with those obtained using recent heuristic methods and show that the proposed approach is capable of generating high-grade solutions and validated viability.

  • In this paper, we present the fabrication and performance of tunable capacitors with various structural geometry of plates. Experimental devices have been fabricated using Cu-electroplating techniques and standard MEMS techniques. In particular, the thickness of electroplated Cu is designed below $0.5{\mu}m$ for lower actuation voltage. The fabricated tunable capacitors has been tested from $OV{\sim}42V$ and achieves a tuning ratio of $46%{\sim}64.2%$.
