  • Mobile voting has been considered as a promising technology, but it has not been used widely or popular enough in the world. We think this situation is caused by immature technologies of mobile voting and no agreement among people in our society. In this paper, we reviewed literature on electronic voting systems in order to find out technical issues on mobile voting system, and we also surveyed people's opinions via the Internet in order to understand what they worry about mobile voting. From the literature review, we understand that the existing electronic voting systems did not consider security, robustness, and reliability issues enough. From the survey, we also get to know that people worry about "manipulation of the result of mobile voting" mostly. Our work can help researchers on mobile voting to consider the ways or technologies that convince people of the reliability of mobile voting.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship among perfectionism and dance achievement of middle and high school students majoring in dance. Specifically, this study aims to investigate the effects of perfectionism on dance achievement through the medium of dance commitment and career decision-making self-efficacy. For this purpose, a structural equation model based on the previous studies was constructed with perfectionism as an exogenous variable and dance commitment, career decision-making self-efficacy, and dance achievement as endogenous variables. The final subjects of this study were 279 middle and high school students majoring in dance. The data were processed by frequency analysis to find out personal characteristics using SPSS 23 and exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis were conducted on the research tools. In addition, AMOS 21 was used for confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis and structural equation model analysis. As a result of data processing on the research model. First, the sub-dimensions of perfectionism tendency 'worry about mistakes', 'personal standard', and 'doubt about behavior' had a statistically significant effect on dance commitment. Second, the sub-dimensions of perfectionism 'worry about mistakes', 'personal standard', and 'doubt about behavior' had statistically significant effects on career decision-making self-efficacy. Third, dance commitment did not have a statistically significant effect on dance achievement, but career decision-making self-efficacy had a statistically significant effect on dance achievement. These results provide implications.

  • This study was intended to provide women who are supposed to experience childbirth with effective nursing care exploring the childbirth experience. The purpose of this paper is to give an answer to the question of what the childbirth experience is, and phenomenological method has been used for that purpose. 17 primiparous mothers right after delivery in one university hospital of J city were served as subjects for this research. Data were collected June to October, 1993 through in depth interview with subjects using unstructured and open questions about the childbirth experience. Van Kaam's phenomenological analysis method was used for the analysis of the data. The results of the study are summarized as follows : The contents of the experience which primiparous mothers had undergone through childbirth were pain, fear, worry, relief, lightness, thankfulness, unsatisfactory, unreality, holiness for a new life, identifying the meaning of life, becoming a mother. 1. Experience before delivery Mothers experienced pain, fear, worry, unsatisfactory, relief, and thankfulness before delivery. Subjects' descriptions about the pain appeared to be various ; unbearable pain, bearable pain, anticipated pain. And their reactions were also various ours ; some endured pain, sought alternative method i.e., surgery, didn't want to reexperience it, or accepted it as women's fate. Subjects experienced fear for anticipated pain, suffering pain, and possible delayed delivery progress and were worried about delivery progress and baby wellbeing. Also, Subjects were unsatisfied with professionals' unfaithful attitude, their spouses' absence, and the ignorance of their pain. But subjects became relieved at the accustomed surroundings, good progress of delivery, support of family, care of professionals and support of other family. And they expressed their thanks to the professionals and family members for doing their best and also to their mothers who gave birth to them. 2. Experience after delivery Subjects experienced lightness, thankfulness, unsatisfactory, worry, unreality, holiness for a new life, identifying the meaning of life, becoming a mother after delivery. Mothers experienced lightness from the fact that it is over, and freshness right after delivery. They were thankful that they delivered vaginally and had an easy delivery. Subjects who delivered female baby were unsatisfied and some were worried about rearing the baby. By confessing, "I have no specific feeling, I am very confused, It is unrealistic, I feel strange", they expressed the unrealistic aspect of childbirth experience. Subjects felt holiness for a new life for novelty and birth of life. They identified the meaning of life from the fact that they felt worthy, fulfilled their duty, had their own baby, accomplished an important affair. After they experienced what it is to be a mother, they realized with it is being a mother and had a rearing expectation for the baby. • In pediatric dentistry, sedation therapy is one of methods for managing children's behavior, and various types of sedation therapy are being used. Thus, this study surveyed the awareness of and satisfaction with sedation therapy in 204 parents who visited the Pediatric Dentistry using a self-administered questionnaire during the period from June to December 2008 in order to get information necessary in behavior management for pediatric patients, and obtained results as follows. 1. The most common path of learning about sedation therapy was dentistry (49.5%), and the most common reason for choosing sedation therapy was 'The child was young'(42.3%), which was followed by 'The child is too afraid'(18.8%), 'There are many teeth to be treated'(16.0%), 'To adjust the number of visits'(11.3%), and 'For behavior management'(3.1%). 2. Most of the parents felt anxiety about sedation therapy, and the reasons for the anxiety were 'The child was young'(33.0%), 'Worry about side effects'(31.3%), 'Worry about recovery of consciousness'(25.7%), 'Worry about the blunting of intellectual abilities'(7.6%), and others (2.4%). 3. Satisfaction with sedation therapy was higher in men than in women, and was high in order of 'Stationing of an anesthetist', 'One time completion of treatment', and 'Cautions'. Statistically significant difference was observed between men and women only in question "Have you ever heard about sedation therapy?"(p=0.018). 4. According to age, satisfaction with sedation therapy was highest in parents whose child was less than 48 months old. Satisfaction was high in order of 'Stationing of an anesthetist', 'One time completion of treatment', and 'Cautions', 'Choice of sedation therapy', and statistically significant difference was observed according to age only in question "Have you ever heard about sedation therapy?"(P=0.005). 5. Positive correlation was observed among questions on satisfaction with sedation therapy. In the survey on the awareness of and satisfaction with sedation therapy in parents visiting the dentistry, awareness and satisfaction were generally high with regard to the parents' choice of sedation therapy, but many of the parents answered that they chose sedation therapy and felt anxiety because their child was young. The results of this study need to be considered for behavior management in pediatric dentistry and there should be systematic education and promotion of sedation therapy.

  • Acne is a common chronic disease which most frequently affects the face, appearing in both males and females near puberty, and in most cases becomes less active as adolescence ends. The intensity and duration of activity vary for each individual. The disease may be minor, with only a few comedones or papules, or it may occur as the highly inflammatory and diffusely scarring acne conglobation. Permanent scarring of the skin and psyche can result from such inaction. The disease, however, has implications far beyond the few marks that may appear on the face. The lesions cannot be hidden under clothing; each is prominently displayed and detracts significantly from one's personal appearance and self-esteem. Recently many of acne patients are visiting to Oriental Medicine Hospitals. They want to receive the treatment of acne related another disease and causes, or worry about side effects of antibiotics and hormone therapy. This study was performed at Pundang Cha Oriental Medicine Hospital Department of Dermatology from March 1, 1997 to February 29, 2000 in 31 patients with recurrent acne. We investigated the clinical findings, included distribution of age & sex, severity of acne, sites on face, related causes, duration of disease and causes of visiting Oriental Medicine Hospital and so on. The results were as follows : The peak age at onset was 20-29 years old in females with 16 cases reported. The 22 total cases patients had severe signs with most frequently sites being forehead & chin. They visited Oriental Medicine Hospital because they want to take the treatment of acne related with another body problems(12 cases) and worry about side effects of antibiotics. Twenty cases were diagnosed 肺熱血熱(20 cases). And given acupuncture treatment, herb-medication and sometimes we used external applications. Relatively, their satisfaction grade was high. Dermatologists are trying to treat new methods in order to remove scar and decrease sebaceous gland secretion,. And we, Oriental Medicine doctors, have to develop and offer to patients the most effective management and successful treatment of this disease.

  • The purposes of this study are to estimate the stress level of university students, and to verify the relationships between stress level and drinking behavior. A questionnaire survey was administered to 430 university students in the Gangwon area in Korea from November 5 to November 28, 2008, and data from 391 students were used for the final statistical analysis. The most stressful factor was "Worry about academic achievements" (2.86 by Likert-type 4 point scale). The subjects were divided into two groups, a low stress group (${\leq}65.0$) and a high stress group (${\geq}66.0$), by the mean value (65.1) and median value (66.0) of the stress levels. The drinking frequency was not different between the two stress groups, but the amount of alcohol consumption was significantly different ($P$ < 0.05). The portion of students reporting drinking "7 glasses or over" was higher in the lower stress group than in the higher stress group. In addition, factor 6, "Lack of learning ability", was negatively correlated with drinking frequency and the amount of alcohol consumption ($P$ < 0.05), and factor 3, "Worry about academic achievements", was negatively correlated with the amount of drinking ($P$ < 0.05). The major motive for drinking was "When overjoyed or there is something to celebrate" (2.62), and the main expected effect of drinking was "Drinking enables me to get together with people and shape my sociability" (2.73). The higher stress group showed significantly higher scores on several items in the categories of motives ($P$ < 0.01), negative experience ($P$ < 0.05), and expected effects ($P$ < 0.05) of drinking than the lower stress group. Our results imply that university students at the lower stress level may drink more from social motives in positive drinking environments, while those at the higher stress level may have more problematic-drinking despite their smaller amount of alcohol consumption.

  • Reducing fear of cancer is significant in developing cancer screening interventions, but the levels of fear may vary depending on the degrees of media exposure as well as individuals' socioeconomic positions (SEP). However, few studies have examined how the SEP influences the fear of cancer under the moderating process of general and specific forms of media exposure. We investigated the moderating effect of media exposure on the relationship between SEP and the level of fear of cancer by assuming that cancer knowledge is a covariate between those two. In particular, this study examined how exposure to both general and specific media changes the series of processes from SEP to fear of cancer. We conducted path analyses with three types of media - television, radio and the Internet- using data from a health communication survey of 613 adults in Massachusetts in the United States. We found that SEP influences cancer knowledge directly and fear of cancer indirectly, as moderated by the level of media exposure. Health-specific exposure, however, had a more consistent effect than general media exposure in lowering the fear of cancer by increasing knowledge about cancer. A higher level of health-specific exposure and greater amount of cancer knowledge lessened the fear of cancer. In addition, the more people were exposed to health information on television and the Internet, the lower the level of fear of cancer as a result. These findings indicate a relationship between SEP and fear of cancer, as moderated by the level and type of media exposure. Furthermore, the findings suggest that for early detection or cancer prevention strategies, health communication approaches through mass media need to be considered.
