중소병원 간호사의 직장 내 약자 괴롭힘과 자아존중감 및 이직의도와의 관계 (Relationships of Workplace Bullying to Self-esteem and Turnover Intention among Clinical Nurses at Small and Medium-sized Hospitals)

  • Purpose: This study was to assess the prevalence of workplace bullying and the relationship workplace bullying to self-esteem and turnover intention among clinical nurses. Methods: The subjects were 223 clinical nurses at 3 small and medium-sized hospitals in K and B cities. The data were collected from February 1st throughout 28th, 2013. The collected data were analyzed using the SAS program through the frequency, percentage, mean, and Pearson's correlation coefficients. Results: The rate of self-reported bullying in the nursing workplace was 24.6% of respondents. There was a negative correlation between workplace bullying and self-esteem (r=-.39, p<.001). Also there was a positive correlation between workplace bullying and turnover intention (r=.14, p=.031). Conclusion: Prevalence of self-reported bullying is high among small and medium-sized hospitals and is clearly associated with lower levels of self-esteem and higher levels of turnover intention. Therefore, an organizational nursing management program as a monitoring regularly the psychosocial work environment and policies and procedures to prevent and manage workplace bullying is strongly recommended for the promotion of self-esteem and reducing the nurse's intention to leave the organization.

  • This is to constitute strategic system and strategies for building family-friendly cultural change in workplace. For purpose, the reason and agent for change, the models and stages of change, the strategies for change process, and the barriers and facilitators of change are discussed. The strategic system is divided into two parts: planning and implementing. Planning includes need & resource assessment, and research & project office. Implementing includes program implementation, monitoring & feedback, communication, and barriers & facilitators. This study from literature review can be used preliminary test to the cultural change process of workplace.

국내 작업환경 측정결과 신뢰성 향상을 위한 제도 고찰 (A Review of a System for Improving the Reliability of Domestic Measurement Results regarding the Work Environment)

  • Objectives: Improvement of the reliability of work environment measurement results is one of the principal subjects to be resolved in the field of industrial hygiene. Thus, this study was conducted in order to review domestic programs for enhancing the reliability of work environment measurement results and propose a more efficient management plan for workplace monitoring. Materials and Methods: The current domestic programs reviewed in this study are the quality control system and evaluation system for industrial hygiene laboratories, the reliability system accompanied by KOSHA (the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency), the system of permissible exposure limits and observed inspection system for permissible exposure limits. Their contents and data were analyzed by reviewing articles, reports, and guidelines related to reliability improvement for work environment measurement results. Results: As a result of the literature review, all the domestic programs investigated in this study had both merits and demerits in terms of considering the reliability of work environment measurement results. In particular, the fact that preliminary notification is provided to the head of a workplace before implementation would be an obstacle for elevating the reliability of work environment measurement results. Conclusions: Based on the review results obtained from this study, it is proposed that on-site measurement without preliminary notification should be considered for a more efficient inspection system that would enhance the reliability of workplace monitoring.

반도체 제조업에서 유해화학물질의 확인 (Identification of hazardous chemicalsin semiconductor manufacturing)

  • Objectives: Hazard identification is the most important step in occupational health monitoring at the workplace. This paper reviewed the several related stuffs to the hazard identification in the semiconductor industry. Methods: I checked the MSDS system, chemical toxic informations, trade secrets and by-products by experience and the literature used in semiconductor industry. Results: I found and experienced as follows; (1) There are a few inventory and history of chemicals used in workplace. Toxic information of chemicals to be available is very limited. (2) There are many trade secrets in MSDS for chemical mixtures. It is difficult to identify the accurate information from MSDS. (3) By-products is necessary to identify that they will produce in workplace. Conclusions: It is necessary to regulate the obligations of employers which check the inventory and history of chemicals used in workplace. It is necessary to amend the trade secrets in MSDS system.

An Integrated Air Monitoring Approach for Assessment of Formaldehyde in the Workplace

  • The aim of this study is to validate an integrated air monitoring approach for assessing airborne formaldehyde (FA) in the workplace. An active sampling by silica gel impregnated with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine, a passive solid phase microextraction technique using O-(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl)hydroxylamine as on-fiber derivatization reagent, an electrochemical direct-reading monitor, and an enzyme-based badge were evaluated and tested over a range of 0.020-5.12 ppm, using dynamically generated FA air concentrations. Simple linear regression analysis showed the four methods were suitable for evaluating airborne FA. Personal and area samplings in 12 anatomy pathology departments showed that the international occupational exposure limits in the GESTIS database were frequently exceeded. This monitoring approach would allow a fast, easy-to-use, and economical evaluation of both current work practices and eventual changes made to reduce FA vapor concentrations.

  • This paper deals with the economical equipment control which is used by internet network system at the industrial workplace. If the control devices can be accessed by internet, we can have the developed possibility of work conditions. In this paper, we presented the advanced digital timer which has a communication function to control and observe panel to realize control solution based on internet to be easily applicable at workplace with low cost. and we used 485 serial communication module to have parallel expansibility and safety. And, this system was experimented and designed for easy system management and status check from remote station through internet As the result of experiment, the circuit configuration would be more simplified than the existing, and it is expected that multi connection control and monitoring can be simply implemented with low cost equipment at industrial workplace.

Design of Rule-based Inference Engine for the Monitoring of Harmful Environments in Workplace

  • 맨홀, 지하정화조, 저장탱크, 밀폐공간 등의 유해 작업장은 환기가 불충분한 상태에서 산소결핍, 유해가스로 인한 건강장해와 인화성 물질에 의한 화재, 폭발 등의 위험이 있다. 이와 같은 유해환경 정보를 작업장 내의 센서를 통해서 실시간으로 모니터링하고, 위험으로부터 작업자의 안전을 보장할 수 있는 시스템이 필요하다. 이 논문에서는 작업장의 유해환경을 모니터링하기 위한 추론엔진을 설계한다. 제안하는 추론엔진은 규칙기반 시스템의 구조를 가지며 JESS를 활용한다. 제안 시스템은 특정 컴퓨팅 플랫폼에 제약되지 않으며 OSGi 기반의 미들웨어와 연동이 쉬운 특징을 가진다.

간호사의 직장 내 괴롭힘 경험에 대한 융합적 접근 : 근거이론방법론 적용 (The Convergence Approach Based on Grounded Theory methodology on Nurse's Experience of Workplace Bullying)

  • 본 연구는 간호사의 직장 내 괴롭힘 경험과정을 탐색하고자 함이다. 2013년 4월 1일부터 2013년 7월 5일까지 직장 내 괴롭힘을 경험한 14명의 간호사를 대상으로 인터뷰하고 Strauss and Corbin의 근거이론방법론을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 간호사의 직장 내 괴롭힘은 139개의 개념, 35개의 하위범주, 13개의 범주로 구분되었다. 간호사가 경험하는 직장 내 괴롭힘의 중심현상은 '부정적으로 학습된 관성에 의한 존재의 무시'로 나타났고, 이를 해결하기 위한 핵심범주는 '자신을 되찾기 위한 몸부림'이었다. 본 연구는 괴롭힘을 경험하는 간호사의 역동과정을 제시함으로 개인과 조직의 직장 내 괴롭힘에 대한 인식의 변화에 긍정적으로 기여할 것이다. 추후 간호사의 직장 내 괴롭힘을 감소시키기 위한 직장 내 괴롭힘 현황 파악, 모니터링 방법 및 프로그램 개발에 대한 연구가 요구된다.
