Objectives: Early retirement occurs when one's job satisfaction suffers due to employment mismatch resulting from factors such as inadequate compensation. Medical doctors report high levels of job stress and burnout relative to other professionals. These levels are highest among emergency physicians (EPs), and despite general improvements in their working conditions, early retirement continues to become more common in this population. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing EPs intention to retire early and to develop a probability equation for its prediction. Methods: A secondary analysis of data from the 2015 Korean Society of Emergency Physicians Survey was performed. The variables potentially influencing early retirement were organized into personal characteristics, extrinsic factors, and intrinsic factors. Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk factors and to develop a probability equation; these findings were then arranged in a nomogram. Results: Of the 377 survey respondents included in the analysis, 48.0% intended to retire early. Risk factors for early retirement included level of satisfaction with the specialty and its outlook, slanderous reviews, emergency room safety, health status, workload intensity, age, and hospital type. Intrinsic factors (i.e., slanderous reviews and satisfaction with the specialty and its outlook) had a stronger influence on early retirement than did extrinsic factors. Conclusions: To promote career longevity among EPs, it is vital to improve emergency room safety and workload intensity, to enhance medical professionalism through a stronger vision of emergency medicine, and to strengthen the patient-doctor relationship.

Purpose: This study was to investigate the nationwide operational status of the professional medical support staffs (PMSS) who practice the expanded roles in the hospital setting. Methods: The data were obtained through survey from 36 hospitals with over 500 beds from 25th May to 12th July 2016. Data from 1,666 PMSS were analyzed. Results: Since the job titles varied, we classified them into 5 groups according to their roles; advanced practice nurse, clinical nurse expert, PA (physician assistant), coordinator, and others. There were differences in the operation status of PMSSs depending on the region, nurse staffing grade and number of hospital beds. Qualification criteria varied from hospital to hospital, and almost half of the hospitals didn't have any qualification standards for them. There were differences in age, educational level, clinical careers, rewards, and job satisfaction in 5 groups. Especially PA group had low salary, poorer working conditions, more difficulties in performing their work, and lower job satisfaction than other groups. Most PMSS (99.5%) were using a delegated prescription authority, however only 68.3% had job description and 19.9% had documented delegated role. Conclusion: Adequate training curriculum, documented delegated roles, and the protocols for legal protection and efficient medical services are needed.

The 79.3 percent of the patients have experienced inconvenience during medical care in University Hospital. The most inconvenient condition was waiting for doctors. The 57.2 percent of total patient have experienced rudness. The most rudness condition was registration and receipt desk in 44.4 percent. Patient expect that doctors working in University Hospitals as professors have high and updated medical knowledge(50.4%) and University Hospitals have a high quality medical care system(79.4%). This study intends to provide preliminary data for improving dining experience in the restaurants of Bamboo food village and help draw up guidelines for the improvement of these dining venues by surveying customer perception and satisfaction in 15-restaurants of the food village. The restaurants were surveyed mainly for satisfaction of the menu, especially, on the signature dishes of Damyang, "ddeokgalbi" (grilled short rib balls) and "daetongbab"-the grilled short rib balls and bamboo rice. The two dishes were more liked by people in the the 20- to 29-year age group with a score of 3.92 and 4.11, respectively. Although the 30-49 age group showed the highest satisfaction score on the fixed price menu, there was no statistically significant difference. The age group of 20-29 also showed the highest satisfaction on plating and table setting with a score of 4.09 and 4.04, respectively, and there was significant difference among age groups in this regard (p<0.05). All the age groups surveyed answered "time-honored taste" should be captured when working on menus, which suggests it should be the first choice for the restaurants in the food village when they develop their menus. When it comes to the restaurant environment, satisfaction on sanitary conditions was significantly different among the groups with a score of 4.21 given by 30-49 age group and 3.88 by the 50 and over group (p<0.05). In the category of service satisfaction, the two aforementioned age groups again showed significant difference in catering to customer needs with a score of 3.99 and 3.63, respectively (p<0.05), whereas welcoming customers and serving food was scored without statistical difference by age. Being asked what needs to be done to strengthen competitive advantage of the restaurants, all the age groups answered "taste" would matter the most while the 20 to 29 and 30 to 49 age groups picked "hygiene" and the 50 and over selected "table setting and ambience" next, which was statistically different with a p value of <0.05. Regarding the competitive advantage of the Korean restaurants in Damyang Bamboo food village, the first two younger groups (20 to 29 and 30 to 49) chose "table setting and ambience" and the eldest (50 and over) age group answered "location wise advantage," indicating significant difference by age. More than 80 percent of the people surveyed were willing to revisit the venues, which suggests improving restaurant environment in Bamboo food village and offering customers a better experience are very likely to build a image of culinary tourism for Damyang.
Background : The main aim of this study was to analyze the factors that could be used to predict job satisfaction of assistant nurses in general hospitals. Material and Methods : This study was based on a survey of assistant nurses in the Daegu region from January 1, 2006 to January 31, 2006. Originally 300 questionnaires were distributed and among them 291 were completed. The data was collected and used for the statistical analysis. Descriptive and inferential statistics, such as the frequency, t-test and one-way ANOVA were used for the analysis. Results : Among the respondents, the average score for job satisfaction was lowest in the university-trained nurses and highest in the nurses who had only graduated from high school. Conclusion : The working conditions, work place and motivation are significantly associated with job satisfaction. In particular, there was lower job satisfaction in those nurses who wanted to change their occupation.
The increased number of foreigners in Korea (now more than 1.8 million) has necessitated understanding, analyzing and interpreting the immigration issues in order to solve the foreign workers' social problems. Foreign workers in Korea are suffering from a lot of difficulties such as bad working conditions, lower income, unpaid wages, cultural adaptation, etc. This paper aims to investigate how the social capital factors (social network and social support) and media use (Korean and Chinese media) influence cultural adaptation and job satisfaction. In addition, the paper aims to provide practical guidelines for social welfare organizations and enterprises which support and recruit them. The sample of our respondents was 273 Chinese workers (216 Korean-Chinese workers and 57 Han-Chinese workers) in Korea. We used SPSS 21.0 for statistical analysis. The results are as follows: Korean network, native network, family support, native support and Korean media use have a significant effect on cultural adaptation. Korean network, native network, family support, native support and Korean media use have a significant impact on job satisfaction. Furthermore, cultural adaptation was found to mediate the relationship between Korean/native network and job satisfaction as well as between family/native support and job satisfaction. Cultural adaptation was also found to mediate the relationship between Korean media use and job satisfaction.
