An Analysis of Demand for the Family Worker and Family Well-being-Program : Focused on the Users of Related Institutions (가정복지사와 가정복지프로그램에 대한 요구도 분석 -가정복지 관련 시설 이용자를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the demand for the family worker and family well-being program. For this analysis, the data taken from 367 married women who are using at least 1 program in related institutions in Ulsan were used. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The most demanded role of family worker is family counselor and information performer. So the education system and curriculum for family worker should take more the counseling and information related contents. 2. The most demanded family well-being programs are the communication skill between parents and children and parenting role. The demand for the family well-being programs is different with the users' age, motivation, institutions, etc. So the organization of the program can very as users' characteristics and institutions.

The Effects of Working Hour on the Worker's Subjective Well-being (노동시간이 삶 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is to demonstrate the effects of working hour on the workers' subjective well-being. Working hour, in this study, means working time per a day and the generosity of weekly holiday. Firstly, the effects of working hour on the worker's well-being will be analyzed. Secondly, it will be investigated if the effects of working hour on the worker's well-being change according to the existence of the family member who needs care. The results of the analysis show that longer working hour and the lower generosity of weekly holiday decrease workers' well being. If workers have family member who needs care, the effects of working hour and the generosity of weekly holiday on the worker's well-being are not significant. It contrasts to the result that women are more satisfactory to their lives than men in cases they don't have family member who needs care. It is supposed that these results are closely related with the enormous gender gap of care time in Korea.

  • This study examined co-worker relationship on of life between employees of contract foodservice in general hospital. Contract foodservice managed general hospitals surveyed from 1 October 2015 to 31 October 2015. A total of 230 questionnaires (cook-30 questionnaires, nutritionist-50 questionnaires, cook's helper-150 questionnaires) were distributed, and 177 questionnaires were used for the study. As a result, the quality of life of employees contract foodservice general hospital was composed of sub-factors (employee engagement, stress at work, home-work interface, working condition, general well-being). co-worker relationship was composed of sub-factors (cooperative co-worker relationship, competitive co-worker relationship). Causal relationship between variables was through regression analysis, and significant results were shown. ooperative co-worker relationship had an effect on employee engagement, stress at work, working condition and general well-being. competitive co-worker relationship.

Grandchildren Caregivers' Subjective Well-being (손자녀를 양육하는 노인의 주관적 안녕감)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the variables which account for grandchildren caregivers' subjective well-being. The subjects of this research were 100 grandmothers who are currently caring for grandchildren. The instruments used for this study were 'Job Content Questionnaire' by Karasek(1979), 'Family Support Inventory for Worker' by King, Mattimore, King, & Adams(1995), 'Social Support Scale' by Park(1985) and 'Psychological Positive Functioning' by Ryff(1989). Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlations and hierarchical multiple regression. The major results of this study are as follows; First, grandchildren caregiving's demand level was negatively related to grandmothers' subjective well-being, but it's control and support level were positively related to them. Second, the variables that explained grandchildren caregivers' sutjective well-being were their marital status, income, material reward, and family support. When they had a husband, the more money they had, and with more rewards for caregiving plus family support given, the more positive subjective well-being they had.

Effects of Foreign Worker's Social Exclusion on Psychological Well-being (외국인 노동자의 사회적 배제가 심리적 복지감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was executed to identify the influences that the social exclusion which foreign workers recognize gives to their psychological well-being. 214 foreign workers were selected as study subjects who live in Seoul and Gyunggi areas and are working for the simple function tasks like manufacturing. Study results showed that the level of social exclusion which foreign workers recognize is a little bit higher than the average but psychological well-being is lower than the average level. Psychological well-being showed statistically significant differences according to staying period, healthy conditions, Korean language proficiency and working period of current workplace by each group, but their staying status and monthly income didn't show significant differences by groups. In addition, working period in current workplace, health conditions, Korean language proficiency and consumption activities and production activities which are the subcategories of social exclusion showed significant influences to psychological well-being.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the phenomenon worker's health as a basis for the future study. Concepts help us to identify how experiences are similar or equivqlent by categorizing all the things that are similar. The concept of health in workers was investigated using the Chinn and Krammer's method. The process of analysis involves choosing the concept, clarifying the purpose, using evidence of data, exploration of context, and value and category formalization. Dimensions of health in workers were identified as follows: \circled1 clinical dimension \circled2 role execution \circled3 coping with dimensia \circled4 mental well being \circled5 possibility \circled6 concrete activity \circled7 symbolization \circled8 hardiness Characteristics of anality of health in workers are activity, dimension of symbolization and of hardiness. Through this study it is identified that health in workers is with the beyond physical well-being, focused functional ability, and harmony environment.

Effects of Control Attribution, Demand-Control-Support Model, and Control Strategy on Elderly Workers' Subjective Well-Being (노인 일자리 사업 참여자의 통제 귀인과 활동의 요구-조절-지지 정도 및 통제 전략이 자신의 주관적 안녕감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study tested the path model with regard to how certain variables (control attribution, demand-control-support of activity, and control strategy) affected the elderly workers' subjective well-being(swb). In the path model, the exogenous variables were internal and external control attribution. We used demand-control-support of activity, and primary and secondary control strategies as mediating variables. The endogenous variable was each elderly worker's swb. Study participants were 205 elders participating in an "education activity". We used descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical multiple regression to examine data collected from structured interviews with the participants. Path analysis revealed the followings: First, secondary control strategy was the strongest predictor of participants' swb but internal control attribution, demand of activity, and support of activity also positively affected participants' swb. Second, internal control attribution indirectly affected the participants' swb. Finally primary control strategy negatively affected on the participants' swb.

Impact of Working environment on Psychological Well-being in Male Baby boomers (베이비붐세대 남성의 근무환경이 심리적 안녕감에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to measure psychological well-being and to examine the associated factors in male baby boomers using Korean Working Conditions Survey Data 2011. Methods: This study was based on the 3rd Korean Working Conditions Survey Data 2011, which was conducted from June to November 2011 by the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute. The total number of subjects was 3,340 male employees, who were born from 1955 to 1963 and responded to the question regarding occupational stress. Chi-square and multiple logistic regression were used for data analysis using the SAS ver 9.3 program. Results: Approximately 54.5% of the male babyboomer employees did not have psychological well-being. Factors associated with psychological well-being were weekend-shift and occupational stress including job insecurity, organizational system, and lack of reward. Night-shift and long working hours influenced psychological well-being, but the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: This study is a meaningful attempt to measure psychological well-being and perform an analysis of associated factors in male baby boomer employees using nationwide survey data. We suggest a complex institutional supplement in terms of national and employers to increase the psychological well-being of baby boomers.

Factors Affecting Subjective Well-Being of Office Worker (직장인의 주관적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting subjective well-being of Korea's office workers. To do this, this paper proposed and analyzed a theoretical model consisting of factors such as energy, work self-efficacy, work meaningfulness, organization/supervisor support, society activity, family relationship satisfaction and subjective well-being. Data was collected using the survey method, and analyzed using structural equation model. The results from this research are as follows. First, work self-efficacy and wok meaningfulness have a positive effect on subjective well-being. Second, relationship has a positive effect on subjective well-being. In conclusion, the implication of my research is to verify some factors to predict subjective well-being of office workers in Korea.

Am Empirical Study on the Tension of Insecurity and Autonomy of Online Platform Work (온라인 플랫폼 노동에서 불안과 자율성의 긴장관계에 대한 실증분석)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the effect that insecurity and autonomy of platform work have an influence on work-life balance and psychological well-being in an era of platform economy based on two characteristics of online platform work and self-determination theory. Design/methodology/approach This study suggested the structural equation model integrating two antecedents, insecurity and autonomy, work-life balance, and psychological well-being and proposed five hypotheses driven from the research model. A total of 334 valid samples were collected from platform workers by employing questionnaire including 24 question items of four constructs. Findings Three hypotheses were supported and one hypothesis was not supported at the significance level of 0.05. Insecurity of platform work has a negative influence on work-life balance at the significance level of 0.01, whereas insecurity of platform work has no a significant influence on psychological well-being. Autonomy of platform work has a positive influence on both work-life balance and psychological well-being at the significance level of 0.01. Work-life balance has a positive impact on psychological well-being at the significance level of 0.001. Insecurity have an influence on psychological well-being indirectly through mediation of work-life balance. Implications for academicians and practitioners were suggested.
