In this paper, HSE (Health and Safety Environments) research with smart device and biometrics is conducted for the worker's HSE enhancement in the manufacturing shop floor. Today, various kinds of smart devices are popularized extensively. In addition, the wearable type devices are being introduced such as google glass very recently. Smart device of werable type is exptected to bring great opportunity out in terms of HSE functionality. Smart devices of phone or tablet type are being used for on-line work between control center and manufacturing shop floor by virtue of wireless communication. However, those devices are not appropriate for detecting of worker's physical senses such as temperature and pulse. In this paper, we developed a glass type smart device and required funictions for HSE enhancement with the investigation of biometrics technology. Also, required sensors are investigated for the detecting of temperature, pulse and noxious gasses. Smart device of glass type has advantages in that most senses of personnel are gathered around faces, and also it's possible to detect neutral axis of body because the wearing location is fixed. We expect that the proposing HSE product of glass type smart device could contribute the enhancement of the HSE of manufacturing shop floor.
More weight is given today to the role and capacity of fashion shopmasters who stand in direct contact with customers at department stores. The present study examines relationship between the stress factors and the job satisfaction by fashion shopmasters. The questionnaires was prepared 300 fashion shopmasters who work at fashion brand shops for ladies' formal and casual dress in department stores located in Chungcheong provincial areas from Aug. 5 to 23, 2013. Out of the distributed questionnaires, 270 were returned and 256 were put to the final analysis after excluding those that were replied unfaithfully. The second stage was to collected data underwent frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis and regression analysis to determine the effects of variables by using SPSS 18.0. Fashion shop masters are therefore requested to have exact understanding to their role as retail sales professionals, fashion advisers and experts of fashion shop management, to become well aware of their job in detail, to apply such knowledge to their practical job performance and to make personal efforts to promote their status as fashion shop masters.
The study establishes the analytical frame composed of 22 items according to the category of passageway, shop, entrance and amenity for the purpose of executing the empirical investigation of the Underground Public Pedestrian Facilities in Daegu Metropolitan City of Korea. As a result of the research work, the study finds out some problems about the facilities as follows: (1) Passageway elements - the skylight was constructed only in one place. In contrast, the standards of passageway and plaza were well-fulfilled except for one or two cases. (2) Shop elements - the cases of installing shops where they should not be located were found the most, and a case of over-establishing the shop area was found as well. (3) Entrance elements - the cases not matching roof or canopy standard over entrance facilities were found the most. Overall, the entrances and their connection to the adjacent buildings are appraised as not well-established. (4) Amenity elements - these were appraised as insufficient in all except two cases. Regarding this, not only necessary are the establishment of facilities and the effort of facility managers, but also urgent is the institutional improvement.
The purpose of this study was to investigate salesperson's perception of fashion company in the middle management system of department store. This study was conducted by a qualitative research method. An in-depth interview was managed to 14 fashion shop managers and salesperson who have three or more years of work experience at the department store. Interview details were classified three categories: relations with fashion company and others, concern with products supply, concern with products sales. First, the positive factors on relations with fashion company are mutual trust, stability of fashion company, coordination and consideration for shop, communication with fashion company, methodical IT system, methodical education, and social gathering support. The negative factors are unilateral breach of contract from fashion company, communication problem, gap between sales status in shop and product design in fashion company, lack of professional education, difficulty of participating in education, and inadequate employee benefits. Second, the positive factor on products supply is priority of products supply. The negative factors are lack of main items, product procurement lacking rapidity, and problem of securing a supply. Third, the positive factors on products sales are brand pride, display and information support about products, and free gift support. The negative factors are unfair selling commission policy, sales pressure, and excessive responsibility.
The advent of Omni Channel has changed the fashion business model and the role of fashion sales persons. In such situation, internal marketing can become an important organizational management strategy for fashion companies. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the components of internal marketing of fashion companies for fashion shop masters in an omni channel environment. To achieve the purpose of this study, To achieve the purpose of this study, a qualitative study was conducted to investigate the internal marketing sub-factors of fashion companies. In-depth interviews were conducted for qualitative study. Seven respondents to the in-depth interview were fashion shop masters who had at least 10 years of field work experience. As a result of the qualitative study, internal marketing was derived from five factors, including empowerment, education and training, rewards, internal communication, and management supports. Empowerment factors consist of initiative, encourage creativity, and problem solving. Education and training factors consist of the degree of education and training opportunities, the value of education and training, and the scope of education and training. Rewards factors consist of diversity of rewards, fairness of rewards, and source of rewards. Internal communication factors consist of communication flexibility, diversity of communication and receptivity of communication. A 46-year-old man who had worked as a bumper spray painter in an automobile body shop for 15 years developed lung cancer. The patient was a nonsmoker with no family history of lung cancer. To determine whether the cancer was related to his work environment, we assessed the level of exposure to carcinogens during spray painting, sanding, and heat treatment. The results showed that spray painting with yellow paint increased the concentration of hexavalent chromium in the air to as much as $118.33{\mu}g/m^3$. Analysis of the paint bulk materials showed that hexavalent chromium was mostly found in the form of lead chromate. Interestingly, strontium chromate was also detected, and the concentration of strontium chromate increased in line with the brightness of the yellow color. Some paints contained about 1% crystalline silica in the form of quartz.
In an order-oriented production system such as mold manufacturing, the production starts with an order acceptance, and the production planning is set up according to the accepted order information. Such a work can be done through a dynamic process management system which can reflect shop floor situation dynamically. In this paper, so called the Quick order acceptance evaluation system that can investigate order confirmation quickly, is discussed. When an order is asked, this system must consider the time constraint to determine whether to accept or not, and must be reliable when the determined results are used in the shop floor. For this system, firstly, we simplified the machines by grouping based on their operation capabilities, secondly, we conducted load analysis to calculate available capacities during given periods using heuristic method instead of mathematical algorithm, thirdly, expert can input his experienced knowledge into the system interactively when simulation results don't meet the required due dates. As a case study, we applied this system to an injection mold manufacturing factory.
This paper addresses a scheduling scheme for Flexible Flow Shop(FFS) in the case that a factory is a sub-plant of an electronic device manufacturing plant. Under this environment, job orders for the sub-plants in the production route are generated together with job processing time bucket when the customer places orders for final product. The processing time bucket for each job is a duration from possible release date to permissible due date. A sub-plant modeled FFS should schedule these jobs orders within time bucket. Viewing a Printed Circuit Board(PCB) assembly line as a FFS, the developed scheme schedules an incoming order along with the orders already placed on the scheduled. The scheme consists of the four steps, 1)assigning operation release date and due date to each work cells in the FFS, 2)job grouping, 3)dispatching and 4)machine allocation. Since the FFS scheduling problem is NP-complete, the logics used are heuristic. Using a real case, we tested the scheme and compared it with the John's algorithm and other dispatching rules.
A tryout is a series of process optimization for robust stamping before transfer to the press shop. During tryout, the drawbead control, blank shape determination, binder surface modification, etc., are carried out mainly by a trial-and-error approach. As the level of difficulty of the stamping process increases, the formability becomes more sensitive to the contour of deformed shape, i.e. the blank shape. A digital tryout technique, which simulates a real tryout process, is proposed in this study for challenging stamping processes. Since digital tryout is carried out on a desktop, not in a press shop, a precise control of the deformed contour can be achieved if an optimal blank design technique is utilized. In this work, the proposed digital tryout technique is validated by successful applications to different automotive parts.
