A Survey on the Actual Condition for Dining-out in Pusan 2. The Preference of Restaurant and Food According to Age Groups and Sex Distinction (부산지역의 외식실태조사 2. 연령과 성별에 따른 음식점과 음식의 선호도)

  • This study was conducted to find out the actual condition of dining-out and the preferences of restaurant and food according to age groups and sex distinction in Pusan area. The survey was conducted on 564 peoples who live or work, including students aged more than 4th grade in elementary school in Pusan area. The results of the questionnaires are as follows ; The reasons of prefferring restaurant were in order of "delicious taste", "comfortable atmosphere" and "economical price", and of no prefferring restaurant were in order on "untasty", "unsanitary" and "unkind employees". Female and student group were more in the items of unexperinced food than male and older group. The menu of preferring were in order of "sliced raw fish", "pizza", "bulgogi", and of no preferring were in order of "dog soup", "gopchang jengol", "ox tail soup" male and older group showed a relatively highest preference for "traditional food", however, female and younger(student group and young group) showed a relatively highest preference for "fast foods". The reasons of prefferring food were in order of "delicious taste", "something like" and "abundance of nutrition", and of no prefferring food were in order of "untasty", "hatred food" and "doesn't suit constitution". Male and older group showed a relatively highest preference for "abundance of nutrition", however, female and younger showed a relatively highest preference for "foreign food".   • In this paper, we proposed a TDC based F/T sensorless active compliance control algorithm for a rehabilitation robot (KARES II). The preference of compliance of the disabled is presented by clinical testing at Korea National Rehabilitation Center with the disabled. The KARES II was designed to work 12 predefined tasks which are very essential for helping the disabled. Among the tasks, some contact tasks between the robot and the disabled exist. Therefore, TDC based F/T sensorless compliance control algorithm is developed for these tasks without additional cost. We verified the proposed algorithm with experiment. Also for the practical use, suitable compliance for contact tasks is chosen by clinical testing at Korea National Rehabilitation Center.

Representative Keyword Extraction from Few Documents through Fuzzy Inference (퍼지 추론을 이용한 소수 문서의 대표 키워드 추출)

  • In this work, we propose a new method of extracting and weighting representative keywords(RKs) from a few documents that might interest a user. In order to extract RKs, we first extract candidate terms and then choose a number of terms called initial representative keywords (IRKS) from them through fuzzy inference. Then, by expanding and reweighting IRKS using term co-occurrence similarity, the final RKs are obtained. Performance of our approach is heavily influenced by effectiveness of selection method of IRKS so that we choose fuzzy inference because it is more effective in handling the uncertainty inherent in selecting representative keywords of documents. The problem addressed in this paper can be viewed as the one of calculating center of document vectors. So, to show the usefulness of our approach, we compare with two famous methods - Rocchio and Widrow-Hoff - on a number of documents collections. The results show that our approach outperforms the other approaches.

Re-examining Network Market Strategies from the Perspective of the Local Network: Market Competition between Incompatible Technologies

  • Much of work on network externality assumed network effects are dependent on the network size. Therefore, very little consideration is given to the view that marginal benefits from joining the network may not increase with the network size if consumer benefits come from the direct interaction with neighbors, namely local network. In this study, we used the agent-based simulation method to reexamine the effectiveness of the traditional network market strategy under the presence of the local network where two incompatible technologies compete. We found that the strategy of growing an initial customer base is not effective under the presence of the local network. Our study also showed that targeting customers based on their technology Preference is not as effective as targeting customers within the same local network. As a result, the focus of a network market strategy should be directed to taking advantage of the customer network.

  • The service providers of Internet have to work out a personalized contents service system focused on variety of customer's complex individuality. To effectively adopt individual customer's preference and actively adapt change of business situation, suppose an system of the service which emotional experience using emotional-based web design. In the experimental results, it is found that Internet service system implemented based on this idea is more effective than the existing systems in the view point of extension of customer's emotional satisfaction and visit duration time goes longer beyond that of the traditional systems.

The Research on the Hair Color and Products Preference for Hair Designers (헤어 디자이너들의 헤어컬러 및 헤어컬러 제품 선호도 조사)

  • The hair designers are fashion leaders who affect hair color of people. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to give some tips to satisfy customers through surveying hair designers most like color and the criteria of products choice. To have practical result, I use survey method. I took 120 hair designers who work for Park Jun beauty salon for the survey data. Among these data, I used 103 for the final data of analysis. The results are following, male hair designers like natural brown and blue coral color for hair coating. In addition, they like black color for coloring. Female hair designers like much more various color, they like orange color for coating and natural brown for coloring. Hair designers much more satisfied for international brand goods in all criteria except price. All of hair designers have favorite goods for the quality and brand image. Therefore domestic brands need much more effort to improve quality and its brand image.

Sparsity Effect on Collaborative Filtering-based Personalized Recommendation (협업 필터링 기반 개인화 추천에서의 평가자료의 희소 정도의 영향)

  • Collaborative filtering is one of popular techniques for personalized recommendation in e-commerce sites. An advantage of collaborative filtering is that the technique can work with sparse evaluation data to predict preference scores of new alternative contents or advertisements. There is, however, no in-depth study about the sparsity effect of customer's evaluation data to the performance of recommendation. In this study, we investigate the sparsity effect and hybrid usages of customers' evaluation data and purchase data using an experiment result. The result of the analysis shows that the performance of recommendation decreases monotonically as the sparsity increases, and also the hybrid usage of two different types of data; customers' evaluation data and purchase data helps to increase the performance of recommendation in sparsity situation.

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the organizational personality types, employee-organization fits and the job satisfaction/involvement in a Korea standard nuclear power plant(NPP), which is a representative safety work place. First we chose 427 procedures that are related to safety out of 777 officially managed procedures referenced by 13.5 of FSAR(final safety analysis report). Next, we finally chose 70 procedures of 8 divisions for 44 employees regarding the duties for NPPs' division, experiences of operations, an operational know-how, and the indication of operational weakness. This study used OPTI(organizational personality type indicators) and the combination of 4 preference types for determining the organizational personality to produce personality types of organizations for NPPs' division. To assess the job satisfaction and involvement, we used a questionnaire and an interview, for 300 employees(83.5%) of the Korea standard NPP.

  • The aim of this study is to examine and compare Koreans and Japanese creativities in advertising. It was to analyze empirically their creativities appreciated in 200 TV commercials broadcasted between 1992 and 1998. The content analysis, was a useful process, provided very important clues for comparative analysis. Many difference were found in the examined TV commercials in Korea and Japan. It showed major difference in ways in which the level of noise, the using of cuts, social space, camera work, etc. except preference of jingle, colors, elements of tradition. The most distinctive difference is that the Japanese TV commercials deal with atmosphere than the Korean commercials. This result may help to explain a common social phenomenon of not losing the original culture in each society, as a result of "international acculturation" and the subsequent "indigenization by adaptive change"

  • Many studies on predicting and recommending information and products have been studying to meet customers' preference. Unnecessary information should be removed to satisfy customers' needs in massive information. The some information filtering methods to remove unnecessary information have been suggested but these methods have scarcity and scalability problems. Therefore, this paper explores a personalized recommendation system based on artificial neural network (ANN) to solve these problems. The insurance product recommendation is adapted as an example to demonstrate the proposed method. The proposed recommendation system is expected to recommended a suitable and personalized insurance products for customers' satisfaction.
