Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the influence of spirituality and job satisfaction on the compassion competence of hospice nurses. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of 118 hospice nurses from 16 hospitals in Daejeon, Chungcheong Province, and Jeolla Province. A self-administered survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire including the Spirituality Scale, Index of Work Satisfaction, the Compassion Competence Scale for Nurses, and general socio-demographic information. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and hierarchical linear regression analysis using SPSS for Windows version 26.0. Results: Compassion competence was correlated with spirituality (r=0.66, P<0.001) and job satisfaction (r=0.52, P<0.001), and spirituality was correlated with job satisfaction (r=0.44, P<0.001). Spirituality (β=0.513, P<0.001) and job satisfaction (β=0.273, P<0.001) were significant factors affecting the compassion competence of hospice nurses, after adjusting for the sociodemographic and work-related covariates. The step-by-step results from hierarchical linear regression analysis also indicated that spirituality had a stronger impact than job satisfaction on compassion competence. Conclusion: Our findings demonstrate the importance of spirituality, which plays a role in guiding the compassion competence of hospice nurses. It is necessary to support the spirituality and job satisfaction of hospice nurses, which could facilitate their compassion competence and thereby contribute to improving the quality of hospice and palliative care.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to define and clarify the concept of health promotion 'competence' in public health nurses (PHNs). Methods: A hybrid model was used to develop the concept of competence. The model included a field study carried out in Seoul, Korea. The participants in this study were 20 PHNs who were working in the health promotion area. Results: The concept of health promotion competence was found to be a complex phenomenon having a meaning in two dimensions: personal-relationship and environmental-relationship. Four attributes and eight indicators were defined. Conclusion: Health promotion competence was defined as the ability to have understanding and flexibility in practicing (personal-relationship dimension) and to have capacity for uniqueness and leadership in planning (environmental-relationship dimension). Therefore, PHNs who work in the health promotion area should be equipped with attributes and indicators of health promotion competence to enhance their competence in health promotion.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of cultural competence and its influencing factors among 530 dental hygiene students. The analysis was performed using PASW Statistics ver. 18.0, and the following conclusions were drawn. Cultural knowledge levels showed a significant difference according to general characteristics in four components of cultural competence levels. Cultural competence and its four components were higher in subjects who have a religion (p<0.05). The differences in cultural competence levels according to culture-related characteristics are as follows. In individuals with experience of taking foreign culture-related classes, intention to work overseas, or fluency in a foreign language, cultural competence levels and its four components such as cultural comfort, knowledge, awareness, and behavior intent were higher (p<0.05). Intention of overseas employment was the factor most strongly influencing the level of cultural competence of the subjects. The more intention the subjects have to work overseas, the more they have experienced foreign culture-related lessons, the more fluently they speak a foreign language, and the higher level of cultural competency they reached (p<0.05). As the research results show, it is necessary to establish a continuing plan to understand and communicate with individuals of other cultures through foreign language and foreign culture classes in schools in order to improve the level of cultural competence. This education would reduce the fear and stress that subjects might make a mistake in meeting with people from other cultures, and it could be a preparatory process to actively carry out dental hygiene practice with foreigners.

It is required to be enhancement of competitiveness for specialty contractors' employees due to specialty contractors are in charge of the actual construction work. The effective educational program for specialty contractors' employees is essential to improve the work performance of them. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze level of work performance and find factors of core competence for specialty contractors' employees that can be utilized for development of effective educational program. The survey is based on CEO, Engineer and Manager in specialty contractors, and a questionnaire survey was performed to investigate the importance of job task, work load and degree of work difficulty as well as their core competence needs. The analysis result of this study can be utilized for development of effective educational program which is reflected the characteristics of specialty contractor's employees.
Background: Nursing focuses on the development of an empathic relationship between the nurse and the patients. Compassionate competence, in particular, is a very important trait for oncology nurses. The current study sought to determine the degree of compassionate competence in oncology nurses, as well as to determine the relationships between compassionate competence, burnout, job stress, turnover intention, degrees of job satisfaction, and organizational commitment in oncology nurses. Materials and Methods: A descriptive correlational study evaluating the relationships between compassionate competence, burnout, job stress, turnover intention, degrees of job satisfaction, and organizational commitment in 419 oncology nurses was conducted between January 30 and February 20, 2015. Results: The average score of compassionate competence for oncology nurses in the current study was higher than for clinical nurses. Conclusions: The correlational analysis between compassionate competence and organizational commitment, burnout, job stress, turnover intention, and degree of job satisfaction revealed a high correlation between compassionate competence and positive job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Conclusions: Compassionate competence was higher in oncology nurses than in nurses investigated in previous studies and positively correlated with work experience. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment in nurses may be improved through compassionate competence enhancement programs that employ a variety of experiences.
The purpose of this study is to identify a core competencies of the smart worker which most needed in the Smart Work 2.0 environment and to define the competence model of smart worker that can be most applied to. Smart worker for the core competence model as a originality & innovation competence and social skills, digital capability and the capacity of each organic connection to each other is very necessary. Such a smart worker competencies needed to strengthen the three related to the smart foundation for a smart network that will help encourage a very important role is considered.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify effects of Medicaid Case Manager's communication competence and stress on their job satisfaction. Methods: The current work is descriptive research, and the participants were 154 medicaid case managers. Data were collected between May and July, 2017 through Embrain, a specialized research organization. The data were analyzed using independent t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression. Results: The mean communication competence of the medicaid case managers was 3.61, stress 1.76, and their job satisfaction 2.74. Age and average monthly compensation brought significant differences in their job satisfaction. Their communication competence was correlated with stress (r=-.35, p<.001), but not with their job satisfaction. The stress was the most influential factor in job satisfaction (${\beta}=-.45$). Conclusion: The results of this work show that the medicaid case managers' communication competence was not an influence factor of their job satisfaction, which is different from implications from the previous studies and needs confirmation through future research. In addition the results of this study also suggest that stress management can be a useful approach to the improvement of medicaid case managers' job satisfaction.

This study examines the relationship between employee engagement and goal orientation toward competence. In addition, it also examines the relationship between competence and employee performance in financial institutions in Indonesia. Questionnaires were distributed to several employees who work at financial institutions in Aceh, North Sumatra, and Riau. The basis for selecting the research object was that most financial institutions have similar business products. The similarities are the marketing of home loan ownership products and multipurpose investments. The three study regions are located in western Indonesia's most central provinces and have a significant amount of trade. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling based on specific criteria for the respondents. 275 employees made up the research sample, and partial least squares data analysis methods were applied. In data analysis, initial testing was carried out on the components of the research statement items to see their validity and reliability. The results of this study indicate that employee engagement behavior can improve employee performance, which improves financial institutions' organizational performance. The study's findings offer suggestions for policies and guidelines that will encourage productive work behavior among employees and boost organizational performance. The fact that employees must think and act creatively to develop their competence and become superior employees is another distinctive feature of this research.
The purspoe of this study is to identify the socialization level of household work of the employed and unemployed housewives and it's related variables in order to provide some fundamental information for the rational and effective performation of the household task. For the purpose of this study, 700 questionnaire were distributed to the employed and unemployed wives who lived in Seoul. The data were analyed by the Frequency distribution, Percentile, t-test, F-test, Duncan's Multiple Range Test, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The main results were as follows : (1) Socialization level of household work of the employed wives was a little below medium point. When the household work was devided into three subdomains, in the domain of food and shelter, the socialization level was far below medium point. In the domain of clothes, the socialization level was a little higher than medium point. Socialization level of household work of the unemployed wives far below average. When the household work was devided into three sudbomains, in the domain of food, clothes and shelter, the socialization level was far below average, too. Socialization level of household work was significantly different according to the employment. (2) Among the background veriables, family income, household work helper, and frequency of leisure activities have a significant influence on the socialization level of the employed wives. Duration of marriage, housewife's education level and house income have a important effect on the socialization level of the unemployed wives background. (3) Among the background variabels of household work, performing competence of household work is powerful effect on the socialization level of the employed wives. And as for the unemployed wives, performing competence of household task and recognition of the velue of household work are significant variables. (4) The psychological variable such as sex-role attitude gave no noticeable influence on the socialization level of employed and unemployed wives. (5) In conclusion, classifing the variances influencing on the socialization level of household work in a measure of respcetive effect, it appears to be performing competence of household task, frequency of leisure activities, house income, sex-role attitued and educational level in the order of their influences for the employed wives. And as for the unemployed wives, it seems to be house income, educational level, performing competence of household work and frequency of leisure activities. To the two sides, the rate of explanation is shown at 35%.

Modern production requires production staff who have design competence, experience and skills to work in various types of work integrated into professional activities. Possession of digital design methods significantly expands the opportunities for professional activities of qualified workers. The purpose of our study was to study the impact of pedagogical conditions on the formation of design competence of future qualified workers in a group work. We have identified a set of pedagogical conditions that promote the development of professionally oriented artistic and technical creativity of workers in the conditions of curricular and extracurricular activities, which include motivational-target, procedural-semantic, organizational-technological, and subject-oriented. It is shown that the formation of design competence is determined by motivational, informational-active and reflection criteria, which are aimed at motivational-value, cognitive, operational-active, creative, social and emotional components of this competence. The methodology of the research is highlighted, which includes the use of the following methods: determination of the personality's motivational sphere in order to identify strong and weak motives of students activity; multiple intelligence to identify students talents in the direction of practical intelligence, which is important for design competence; determining the level of creative activity to identify manifestations of students creative abilities; identifying the type of students innovative thinking in order to develop motivation for success; factor-criterion model, developed on the basis of a qualimetric approach, which is used to identify the level of design competence formation in accordance with its components. The results of the study showed that the creation of separate pedagogical conditions in the institution of vocational education and training (VET) had a positive impact on the development of design competence, which shows the potential of artistic and technical design in the development of professional creativity of future qualified workers taking into account the environmental approach.
