A Study on 'Character Creation' of Personality Actor - Focusing on Actor Jung Woo-sung and the Characters He Played - (퍼스낼리티 배우의 '인물창조' 연구 -배우 '정우성-캐릭터'들을 중심으로-)

  • This thesis is a study on the creation of characters of "personality actors and character actors" among the concepts of "star persona" of S. Prince. This study selected 7 representative films of Jung Woo-sung, a representative personality actor in the Korean film industry, and analyzed how 'Jung Woo-sung-character' is embodied in the film as a character component suggested by R. Dyer. In the traditional sense, the actor's acting has been highly valued for transformation and impersonation in character creation, but discussing the method of creating a character focusing only on the actor's acting in a movie acting implemented in combination with advanced technology I don't think it's suitable for movie acting research. Theorists such as R.Dyer and Edgar Morin, who studied film actors and stars, also emphasize that 'movie actors are different from theater actors' (by the film medium). Therefore, in this thesis, a detailed analysis of the acting of a personality actor was avoided. As Morin pointed out that the character in the movie can be implemented through the actor's image and type, not playing the type of role. I tried to propose the significance of this character creation method of the personality actor by analyzing actor Jung Woo-sung and his character.

In-situ Synchrotron Radiation Photoemission Spectroscopy Study of Atomic Layer Deposition of $Ta_2O_5$ film on Si Substrate with Ta(NtBu)(dmamp)$_2Me$ and $H_2O$

  • The interfacial state between $Ta_2O_5$ and a Si substrate during the growth of $Ta_2O_5$ films by atomic layer deposition (ALD) was investigated using in-situ synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy (SRPES). A newly synthesized liquid precursor Ta($N^tBu$) $(dmamp)_2Me$ was used as the metal precursor, with Ar as a purging gas and $H_2O$ as the oxidant source. After each half reaction cycle, samples were analyzed using in-situ SRPES under ultrahigh vacuum at room temperature. SRPES analysis revealed that Ta suboxide and Si dioxide were formed at the initial stages of $Ta_2O_5$ growth. However, the Ta suboxide states almostdisappeared as the ALD cycles progressed. Consequently, the $Ta^{5+}$ state, which corresponds with the stoichiometric $Ta_2O_5$, only appeared after 4.0 cycles. Additionally, tantalum silicate was not detected at the interfacial states between $Ta_2O_5$ and Si. The measured valence band offset between $Ta_2O_5$ and the Si substrate was 3.22 eV after 3.0 cycles.

  • The synthesis of Fischer-Tropsch oil is the catalytic hydrogenation of CO to give a range of products, which can be used for the production of high-quality diesel fuel, gasoline and linear chemicals. Our cobalt catalyst was prepared Co/alumina, Co/silica and Co/titania by the incipient wetness impregnation of the nitrates of cobalt with supports. Co-based catalysts was calcined at $400^{\circ}C$ before being loaded into the FT reactors. After the reduction of catalyst has carried out under $450^{\circ}C$, FT reaction of the catalyst has carried out at GHSV of 4,000 under $200^{\circ}C$ and 20atm. From test results, the order of increasing activity for the catalyst was Co/alumina > Co/silica > Co/titania. When the content of Co metal such as 5, 12, 20 and 30wt% was changed, an CO conversion increased as the content of Co metal increased. The activity of catalyst has obtained the best value at 12wt% Co content.

Extracting the Source Code Context to Predict Import Changes using GPES

  • One of the difficulties developers encounter in maintaining tasks of a large-scale software system is the updating of suitable libraries on time. Developers tend to miss or make mistakes when searching for and choosing libraries during the development process, or there may not be a stable library for the developers to use. We present a novel approach for helping developers modify software easily and on time and avoid software failures. Using a tool previously built by us called GPES, we collected information of projects, such as abstract syntax trees, tokens, software metrics, relations, and evolutions, for our experiments. We analyzed the contexts of source codes in existing projects to predict changes automatically and to recommend suitable libraries for the projects. The collected data show that researchers can reduce the overall cost of data analysis by transforming the extracted data into the required input formats with a simple query-based implementation. Also, we manually evaluated how the extracted contexts are similar to the description and we found that a sufficient number of the words in the contexts is similar and it might help developers grasp the domain of the source codes easily.

A Design for the Personalized Difficulty Level Metric based on Learning State (학습 상태에 기반한 맞춤형 난이도 측정을 위한 척도 설계)

  • The 'level of difficulty' is one of the major factors for learners when selecting learning contents. However, the criteria for the difficulty level is mostly defined by the contents providers. This approach does not support the personalized education which should consider the abilities and environments of various learners. In this research, the knowledge of the learners and contents were formalized and generalized to resolve the issue, and object models, including a metric for personalized difficulty level, were designed in order to be applied for experiments. And then, based on 100 contents for music education and 20 learners, we performed simulations with an implemented tool to validate our approach. The experimental results showed that our method can calculate the personalized difficulty levels considering the similarities between the knowledges from the learning state and the contents. Our approach can be effectively applied to the on-line learning management system which contains easy access to the learning state and contents data.

  • Given a multi-dimensional dataset of tuples, a skyline query returns a subset of tuples which are not 'dominated' by any other tuples. Skyline query is very useful in Big data analysis since it filters out uninteresting items. Much interest was devoted to the MapReduce-based parallel processing of skyline queries in large-scale distributed environment. There are three requirements to improve parallelism in MapReduced-based algorithms: (1) workload should be well balanced (2) avoid redundant computations (3) Optimize network communication cost. In this paper, we introduce MR-SEAP (MapReduce sample Skyline object Equality Angular Partitioning), an efficient angular space partitioning based skyline query processing using sampling-based pruning, which satisfies requirements above. We conduct an extensive experiment to evaluate MR-SEAP.

  • The variation of chemical and interfacial state during the growth of Ta2O5 films on the Si substrate by atomic layer deposition (ALD) was investigated using in-situ synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy. A newly synthesized liquid precursor Ta(NtBu)(dmamp)2Me was used as the metal precursor, with Ar as a purging gas and H2O as the oxidant source. The core-level spectra of Si 2p, Ta 4f, and O 1s revealed that Ta suboxide and Si dioxide were formed at the initial stages of Ta2O5 growth. However, the Ta suboxide states almost disappeared as the ALD cycles progressed. Consequently, the Ta5+ state, which corresponds with the stoichiometric Ta2O5, only appeared after 4.0 cycles. Additionally, tantalum silicate was not detected at the interfacial states between Ta2O5 and Si. The measured valence band offset value between Ta2O5 and the Si substrate was 3.08 eV after 2.5 cycles.

A Genetic Algorithm Based Learning Path Optimization for Music Education (유전 알고리즘 기반의 음악 교육 학습 경로 최적화)

  • For customized education, it is essential to search the learning path for the learner. The genetic algorithm makes it possible to find optimal solutions within a practical time when they are difficult to be obtained with deterministic approaches because of the problem's very large search space. In this research, based on genetic algorithm, the learning paths to learn 200 chords in 27 music sheets were optimized to maximize the learning effect by balancing and minimizing learner's burden and learning size for each step in the learning paths. Although the permutation size of the possible learning path for 27 learning contents is more than $10^{28}$, the optimal solution could be obtained within 20 minutes in average by an implemented tool in this research. Experimental results showed that genetic algorithm can be effectively used to design complex learning path for customized education with various purposes. The proposed method is expected to be applied in other educational domains as well.

Analysis technique to support personalized music education based on learner and chord data (맞춤형 음악 교육을 지원하기 위한 학습자 및 코드 데이터 분석 기법)

  • Due to the growth of digital media technology, there is increasing demand of personalized education based on context data of learners throughout overall education area. For music education, several studies have been conducted for providing appropriate educational contents to learners by considering some factors such as the proficiency, the amount of practice, and their capability. In this paper, a technique has been defined to recommend the appropriate music scores to learners by extracting and analyzing the practice data and chord data. Concretely, several meaningful relationships among chords patterns and learners were analyzed and visualized by constructing the learners' profiles of proficiency, extracting the chord sequences from music scores. In addition, we showed the potential for use in personalized education by analyzing music similarity, learner's proficiency similarity, learner's proficiency of music and chord, mastered chords and chords sequence patterns. After that, the chord practice programs can be effectively generated considering various music scores using the synthetically summarized chord sequence graphs for the music scores that the learners selected.

Analysis technique to support personalized English education based on contents (맞춤형 영어 교육을 지원하기 위한 콘텐츠 기반 분석 기법)

  • As Internet and mobile technology is developing, the educational environment is changing from the traditional passive way into an active one driven by learners. It is important to construct the proper learner's profile for personalized education where learners are able to study according to their learning levels. The existing studies on ICT-based personalized education have mostly focused on vocabulary and learning contents. In this paper, learning profile is constructed with not only vocabulary but grammar to define a learner's learning status in more detailed way. A proficiency metric is defined which shows how a learner is accustomed to the learning contents. The simulational results present the suggested approach is effective to the evaluation essay data with each learner's proficiency that is determined after pre-learning process. Additionally, the proposed analysis technique enables to provide statistics or graphs of the learner's status and necessary data for the learner's learning contents.
