The purpose of this study is to conduct a systematical survey about the recognition by Korean women's age groups on the cervical cancer screening, of which screening age has expanded to include 20 years of age as of January 2016. An online survey was conducted between July 26th to 31st 2017, and 332 answers in total were collected. 332 sets of survey were used to conduct frequency analysis, chi-square test. According to the result, only 116(34.9%) answered that they recognized the current system of cervical cancer screening. Additionally, most of the subjects, namely 298(89.8%), had the intention to take the cancer screening, but the number of subjects who actually received the test was low with 209(63.0%). Therefore, it is necessary to educate and publicize the importance of screening to increase the screening participation.

The results were deducted from in-depth interview with 9 female victims. The process of data analysis was carried out in accordance with the procedures set out in the phenomenological Giorgi's method. The results of research showed that experiences of women could be classified in 13 sub-constituents and 3 constituents. The essential theme of the empowerment experiences of female victims could be summarized as "preparing to live as the subject and overcoming painful difficulties". The result of this study can be utilized as a basis for the social work intervention and policy implications for female victims of violence.
The purpose of this study is to apply a chronic disease management non-face-to-face program for the prevention and management of chronic disease and to confirm the effect of a one-group pre-and post-design similar experimental study. The program consisted of nursing, nutrition, and exercise programs for 12 weeks. The subjects were 69 adult men and women using the chronic disease management center at public health centers, and the period was from May 3 to August 6, 2021. Systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, fasting blood sugar, BMI, depression, and quality of life were measured before and after the program. Data were analyzed with SPSS 20.0. As a result, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, fasting blood glucose, and quality of life were found to be significant. Depression was not significant, but mild depression was reduced. Developing, applying, and managing various non-face-to-face programs for chronic disease management will contribute to the prevention of chronic diseases and the promotion of health maintenance.

COVID-19 struck labor markets around the world, exposing and exacerbating the gender inequalities within the human capital structure. The last, in its turn, jeopardizes the return of the national economies to the growth trajectory undermined by pandemic impact. The authors assume that COVID-19 disproportionately affected the employment rates of women and men, which led to increased gender inequality in the labor market, which, in turn, affected GDP growth rates in the EU. To prove this hypothesis two research questions are discovered: 1) whether there was a different correlation between the number of COVID-19 cases in the EU and indicators of the labor market for women and men; and 2) whether there was a link between the growth of gender inequality in the EU labor market and the GDP dynamics in these countries. The analysis of the correlation between the number of cases of COVID-19 and indicators of the labor market in the EU revealed faster growth of women's unemployment rates compared to men's ones as the COVID-19 incidence unfolded. Multiple linear regression and factor analysis have been used to investigate the influence of gender inequality in the labor market on GDP dynamics. Despite the methodological limitations, the proposed model is both a sound argument and an analytical basis in favor of gender-responsive economic recovery backed by the systematic and consistent gender equality policy of a government.
Objective: Because of communication difficulties, the hearing-impaired face many disadvantages throughout their lives. One of those is limited access to health care services, particularly medication service. Though they suffer from problems related to taking medication properly, there have been few studies on their actual condition of medication use in Korea. This study is to investigate any obstacles to properly taking medications and, therefore, to suggest preliminary evidence for policy measures to improve safe medication use among the hearing-impaired. Methods: Study participants consisted of hearing-impaired individuals living in Seoul. We also interviewed two sign language interpreters in order to illuminate health care state of the hearing-impaired. In-depth interview for each study participant was recorded and was translated into a written script for analysis. Results: Study participants were comprised of four women (66.6%) and two men (33.3%). There were one participants in 20's, two participants in 30's, one 40's, and two 50's. Sign language interpreters were all women. One was in her 30's and the other was in her 40's. Communication difficulties have been found to be key barrier to use medication safely. A negative image of pharmacists also hinders safe medication usage, lowering access to local pharmacy and leading discretional self-medication. This article provides pharmacists with solutions to promote adherence in this population. Conclusion: The hearing-impaired had limited access to medication-related information as well as using services in a hospital and local pharmacy due to their disability. Institutional improvement for safe medication usage among the hearing-impaired is necessary.
Objectives: This study sought to explore the relationships between drinking problems and alcohol's harm to others with the moderating effects of alcohol expectancies on these relationships after controlling for demographic characteristics. Methods: Participants for this study were 1,859 men and women. We performed hierarchical regression analyses with sets of predictors (1) demographic characteristics, (2) drinking problems and alcohol expectancies, and (3) interaction terms between drinking problems and alcohol expectancies. Results: After controlling for demographic characteristics, drinking problems and alcohol expectancies had the significant effects on alcohol's harm to others in both men and women. However, the interactions between drinking problems and negative alcohol expectancy showed the significant impacts on alcohol's harm to others among men. When men had higher levels of negative alcohol expectancy, drinking problems showed stronger effects on alcohol's harm to others. Conclusions: As a result, findings from the study highlight the importance of more sophisticated public policy to prevent and to intervene drinking problems and to support those around drinkers and drinkers themselves.
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether children's social capital(both within and outside the family) and happiness would vary depending on poverty, as well as the effects of poverty on the happiness of children through their social capital. The 2013 Korea Youth General Survey data were utilized. We analyzed data from 766 children between the ages of 9 and 12, as well as their parents. Data were examined using structural equation modeling analysis. The bootstrapping method was used to test the mediating effects of social capital. The results showed that poor children had lower levels of social capital(both within and outside the family) and happiness than non-poor children. Second, poverty had indirect effects one happiness. In particular, poverty affected children's happiness through their social capital obtained both from within and outside the families. The mediating effects were statistically significant. Based on the results, we suggested policy and practice implications, including various interventions for children in poverty that may improve their social capital, which influences children's happiness.
This study analyzed the preparation characteristics for old age of the baby boomers by the framework of the multi-pillar pension system. Analysis results are as follows. First, multi-pillar pension system's subscription rates of baby boomers was public pension 59%, private pension 11.5% and retirement pension 1.5%. The baby boomers isn't ready for old age life. Second, women and people with the low level of education are less prepared for old age. Third, people in a bad health state are less prepared for old age. Forth, low-income people are less prepared for old age. We must support baby boomers' preparations for old age by establishing income security system for old age. We must establish public pension support policy for the people of the low level of education and economic hierarchy, women, bad health status people, and must introduce universal old-age allowance policy for guaranteeing the minimum income of baby boomers.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the important changes and the trends in Korean newspaper articles related to 1) food habits and food consumption patterns 2) nutrition, health and diseases 3) food safety and policy. The method used in this study was content analysis of the articles pressed in Donga ilbo and Choseun ilbo from January 1960 to June 1996. Among the total 1814 articles, those on nutrition, health and disease were 922 (50.8%), food safety and policy were 490 (27%) and food habits and consumption patterns were 402 (22.2%). The articles related to food habits and consumption patterns dealt with four contents, food habits reformation, changes in food consumption patterns, nutritional status and food habits. The contents of food habits reformation were most interested in 1960's when food shortage and poverty prevailed. Nowadays, the major subjects of food habits reformation were changed to the problem of wastage and the use of our agricultural foods. The frequencies of change in food consumption patterns were gradually increased from 1960's (7 item) to June 1996 (34 items). And the most of contents related to nutritional status were focused on suffering from food shortage especially in 1960's.
This study aims to provide useful basic materials for planning the Health Improvement Program and Policy for men aged 20 40. This study investigated 889 subjects, and at each corresponding age, who were collected among the trainers at the Civil Defense Training Institute in K-ku, Incheon City. The data collection period lasted from April to July of 2003. I revised and complemented the measurement tool for the Health Improvement Life Style developed by Jung Eun-Kyung. For analysis of the acquired data. I used SPSS11.0 program. The study shows that the Health Improvement Action of a group of middle aged men averaged 2.80, and 0.44 point out of 5. According to the results found during the analysis of the generic characters of differences in behaviors of Health Improvement. It was revealed that there were significant differences in age, regular exercise and health interest, stress management, self-concept as well as degrees of interest in health, and education level. According to monthly income levels, regular exercise and degrees of self-concept degrees were significantly different from each other. According to marital status. balanced diet and regular exercise were related to each other. According to religion, balanced diet, stress management degree, self concept degree, and degrees of interest in health, significant differences were shown. Based on the earlier mentioned results, we should pay attention to act more, rather than merely recognize the development of the health improvement program of our regional community. Also, it is necessary to find out the cause, which lowers men's interest in health.
