내부 아터리가 있는 알루미늄 그루브 히트파이프와 써모사이펀의 작동특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Working Characteristic of Aluminum Grooved Heat Pipe and Thermosyphon with Inner Arterial Wick)

  • The experimental study for performance improvement of aluminum/freon22 grooved heat pipe was carried out. Arterial wick was used for performance improvement of heat pipe. The experimental result was compared with screen covered grooved wick heat pipe. And also, performance test of grooved wick thermosyphon inserted straight wire in the center of grooved pipe was carried out. This result was compared with the performance test result of grooved wick thermosyphon. The operation limit of artery inserted grooved heat pipe was slightly extended, but thermal resistance of this heat pipe was twice as large as that of screen covered grooved heat pipe. In case of thermosyphon, the operation limit of grooved thermosyphon inserted straight wire in the center of grooved pipe was slightly extended, but thermal resistance was increased, comparing with that of the grooved thermosyphon.

탄소주강품과 경강선재간의 미끄럼 마멸특성 (The Sliding Wear Characteristics of the Carbon Steel Castings against High Carbon Steel Wire Rods)

  • The sliding wear characteristics of the crane sheave were investigated using a pin-on-disk rig tester. The experiment was conducted using a high carbon steel wire that was upper material, also carbon steel castings that was disk material. There are various operating conditions in this work. At the room temperature, we carried out the wear test under a grease lubrication and dry condition. The results of wear test showed that an annealed-casted have lower, also the wear curves are linearly increased with increasing of sliding distance. For the specific wear rate of annealed-casted, the wear resistance was increased with decreasing diameter of wire. The wear of a wire and a disk have a different mechanism, the one is the abrasive wear due to fatigue wear under lubrication, another is the adhesion wear under dry condition.

  • All components such as structure, engine, electrical equipment, wire etc. should have certified qualities and functions for safe flight. The wire like a blood vessel of man is connected with most components and supply a electrical signal or power to them and only certified wire through a lot of tests such as rating, flame resistance, self-extinguishing, protection of EMI etc. must be used in aircraft. In other words, the wire should observe many certification requirements because it is one of the most important components.

  • In this study the mechanical properties of various wire mesh reinforcing porous concrete mixtures are investigated. A properly designed porous concrete pavements provides a durable riding surface. It also eliminates puddles and standing water, resulting in improved skid resistance. The most popular application is that of light-traffic volume roadways such as parking lots, resident roads, driveways, and sidewalks. Flexural strength and toughness index are examined for wire mesh reinforcing porous concrete. Type of Wire mesh is divided into three cases, A type, B type and C type. It shows A type is most excellent shape of destruction of slab specimen is similar to that of flexural specimen. The aim of this paper is to present the results of a pilot study undertaken to examine the extent to which wire mesh reinforced porous concrete can be used as a continuous paving materials.

사고전류 제한형 고온 초전도케이블의 한류부 특성평가 (Evaluation on the Properties of the Current Limiting Part for Fault-Current-Limiting Type HTS Cables)

  • Inside the existing superconducting cables, the superconducting wire carries a loss-free current, and the cable former (the stranded copper wire) bypasses the fault current to prevent damage and loss of the superconducting cable when the fault current is applied. The fault-current-limiting-type superconducting cable proposed in this paper usually carries a steady current; but in a fault state, the cable generates self-resistance that makes the fault current lower than a certain width. That is, the superconducting cable that transmitted only a low voltage and a large capacity power repetitively limits the fault current, as does a superconducting current limiter. To complete this structure, it is essential to investigate the mutual resistance relationship between the superconducting wires after applying a fault current. Therefore, in this paper, one kinds of superconducting wires (a wire without a stabilization layer) were connected parallel 4 tapes, respectively; and after applying a fault current, the current, voltage, resistance and thermal stability of the HTS thin-film wires were examined.

  • The resistance and recovery properties of the YBCO thin-film wire according to the existence and thickness of an insulting layer, and the kinds of stabilization layers, were analyzed at 90 K, 180 K and 250 K. In this study, YBCO thin-film wires with different stabilizing layers and with insulating layers were examined in terms of their various characteristics, such as quenching occurrence, spread, and distribution, based on their resistance increase trends and their recovery from quenching, and the results were qualitatively explained. The results of this study on the characteristics of YBCO thin-film wires' superconducting and normal-conducting phase changes are expected to be useful in designing superconducting power machines and in improving their performance.

Design of Metal Cored Wire for Erosion Resistant Overlay Welding

  • Erosion is a common failure mode of materials frequently encountered in plant and power industry. Although the erosion resistance of Fe-base alloy has been inferior to the other expensive materials, it is expected that the strain-induced martensitic transformation can impart high erosion resistance to Fe-base alloy. The key technology to develop Fe-base metal cored welding wire for erosion resistant overlay welding may include the strain-induced metallurgy for hardening rate control and the welding flux metallurgy for dilution control. Sophisticated studies showed that the strain-induced martensitic transformation behavior was related to the critical strain energy which was dependent on the alloy composition. Dilution and bead shape of overlay weld were proved to be affected by metal transfer mode during gas tungsten arc welding and elements in welding fluxes. It was considered that the highly erosion resistant Fe-base overlay weld could be achieved by precise control of alloy composition to have proper level of critical strain energy for energy absorption and welding flux formulation to have small amount of deoxidizing metallic elements for dilution.

  • The second-generation HTS wire its YBCO coated conductor is widely used in the superconducting power apparatus. The YBCO coated conductor uses the normal-superconducting junction to increase the transport capacity of superconducting power apparatus when it is applied. The normal-superconducting junction can be a cause of reducing the stability of the superconducting power apparatus when a fault current is applied. Thus, in this study we have conducted the effect analysing normal-superconducting junction for the fault current using transport current and quench resistance. From the experimental results when a fault current is applied, the effect on the normal-superconducting junction is reduced the larger the amplitude of the fault current and is helpful to maintain the thermal stability of the HTS wire.

치과 교정용 듀플렉스 스테인리스 스틸 와이어의 기계적 강도 및 세포독성 평가 (Evaluation of the Cytotoxicity and Mechanical Strength of Dental Duplex Stainless Steel Orthodontic Wire)

  • 치과 교정치료를 위하여 스테인리스 선재가 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 내식성이 우수한 스테인리스강 선재가 복합적인 구강환경에서 부식되어 구강조직에 과민반응 또는 이상반응이 발생되고 있다. 이러한 문제를 보완하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 초내식성의 듀플렉스 스테인리스 선재를 교정용 선재로 제시하고 자 한다. DSS선재의 교정용 선재로 제시하기 위하여 기계적 강도와 생물학적 안정성을 평가하였다. 기계적 강도는 상용 교정용 SS선재와 6종의 열처리(실온($28^{\circ}C$), $500^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$, $700^{\circ}C$, $800^{\circ}C$, $900^{\circ}C$)를 실시한 DSS선재를 이용하여 인장강도시험을 실시하였다. 그리고 최적의 강도를 가지는 열처리 조건에서 제작된 DSS선재를 이용하여 굽힘 모멘트 시험을 실시하여 최대 응력과 탄성계수를 산출하였다. 그리고 생물학적 안정성 평가를 위하여 세포성장률 시험을 실시하였다. 선재를 이용하여 금속용출배지를 만들어 세포를 배양 후 세포성장률을 관찰하였다. 기계적 강도 평가 결과 SS선재($8.17\times10^4\;N/mm^2$)와 DSS500($8.05\times10^4\;N/mm^2$)선재가 유사한 기계적 강도를 가졌다(p=0.05). 생물학적 안전성 평가 결과 세포 독성이 없는 것으로 나타났다(p=0.05). 따라서 본 연구에 제시한 초내식성의 듀플렉스 스테인리스 선재가 교정용 선재로 사용이 가능한 것으로 판단된다.
