This study investigated the attitudes towards business ethics of 409 University students majoring in culinary science and foodservice management. The survey questionnaire evaluated their attitudes by ATBEQ (Attitudes towards Business Ethics Questionnaire), using a seven-point scale and the data were analysed by frequency, t-test, ANOVA and reliability analysis. The average value of ATBEQ was investigated with attitudes towards ethics (3.48${\pm}$0.79), application of the ethics to business (4.24${\pm}$0.71), business profit making (4.18${\pm}$0.71), businessman (4.29${\pm}$0.67) and practice of business ethics (3.16${\pm}$0.79). The female, undergraduate and younger students showed significantly higher scores of attitudes towards business ethics (higher ethical attitude) than the male, graduate and older students, respectively. There are some similar results between Korean and Israeli students, while western students (America, Australia and Turkey) showed different attitudes with Korean students.
Sleep is an essential process maintaining the life cycle of the human. In parallel with physiological, cognitive, subjective, and behavioral changes that take place during the sleep, there are remarkable changes in the electroencephalogram (EEG) that reflect the underlying electro-physiological activity of the brain. However, analyzing EEG and relating the results to clinical observations is often very hard due to the complexity and a huge data amount. In this article, I introduce several linear and non-linear tools, developed to analyze a huge time series data in many scientific researches, and apply them to EEG to characterize various sleep states. In particular, the spectral analysis, detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA), and synchrony analysis are administered to EEG recorded during nocturnal polysomnography (NPSG) processes and daytime multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT). I report that 1) sleep stages could be differentiated by the spectral analysis and the DFA ; 2) the gradual transition from Wake to Sleep during the sleep onset could be illustrated by the spectral analysis and the DFA ; 3) electrophysiological properties of narcolepsy could be characterized by the DFA ; 4) hypnic jerks (sleep starts) could be quantified by the synchrony analysis.

In this paper, to analyze the initial valued non-homogeneous elastic half space by the scaled boundary analysis, the infinite element approach was introduced. The free surface of the initial valued non-homogeneous elastic half space was modeled as a circumferential direction of boundary scaled boundary coordinate. The infinite element was used to represent the infinite length of the free surface. The initial value of material property(elastic modulus) was considered by the combination of the position of the scaling center and the power function of the radial direction. By use of the mapping type infinite element, the consistent elements formulation could be available. The performance and the feasibility of proposed approach are examined by two numerical examples.

The horizontal stability of a Single-Point Moored (SPM) Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility is investigated. Both numerical and experimental studies have been conducted for this SPM FLNG. The numerical simulations feature well the experimental data. The effects of the turret locations are studied based on the validated numerical model. Statistic results of the vessel's motions with different turret locations are conducted and compared. The results show that the longitudinal location of the turret has a significant influence on the horizontal stability, which has a strong relationship with the yaw and roll motions. The calculated top tensions on the hawsers also develop a regular change as changing the turret's location. The investigation will provide a brief of principles with more details for the design of the ongoing project.
The scaled-boundary finite element method is a novel semi-analytical technique, combining the advantages of the finite element and the boundary element methods with unique properties of its own. The method works by weakening the governing differential equations in one coordinate direction through the introduction of shape functions, then solving the weakened equations analytically in the other (radial) coordinate direction. These coordinate directions are defined by the geometry of the domain and a scaling centre. This paper presents a general development of the scaled boundary finite-element method for two-dimensional problems where two boundaries of the solution domain are similar. Unlike three-dimensional and axisymmetric problems of the same type, the use of logarithmic solutions of the weakened differential equations is found to be necessary. The accuracy and efficiency of the procedure is demonstrated through two examples. The first of these examples uses the standard finite element method to provide a comparable solution, while the second combines both solution techniques in a single analysis. One significant application of the new technique is the generation of transition super-elements requiring few degrees of freedom that can connect two regions of vastly different levels of discretisation.

In 2003, Marques-Smith and Sullivan described the join ${\Omega}$ of the 'natural order' $\leq$ and the 'containment order' $\subseteq$ on P(X), the semigroup under composition of all partial transformations of a set X. And, in 2004, Pinto and Sullivan described all automorphisms of PS(q), the partial Baer-Levi semigroup consisting of all injective ${\alpha}{\in}P(X)$ such that ${\mid}X{\backslash}X{\alpha}\mid=q$, where $N_0{\leq}q{\leq}{\mid}X{\mid}$. In this paper, we describe the group of automorphisms of R(q), the largest regular subsemigroup of PS(q). In 2010, we studied some properties of $\leq$ and $\subseteq$ on PS(q). Here, we characterize the meet and join under those orders for elements of R(q) and PS(q). In addition, since $\leq$ does not equal ${\Omega}$ on I(X), the symmetric inverse semigroup on X, we formulate an algebraic version of ${\Omega}$ on arbitrary inverse semigroups and discuss some of its properties in an algebraic setting.
This paper proposes a structural damage identification approach based on the power spectral density transmissibility (PSDT), which is developed to formulate the relationship between two sets of auto-spectral density functions of output responses. The accuracy of response reconstruction with PSDT is investigated and the damage identification in structures is conducted with measured acceleration responses from the damaged state. Numerical studies on a seven-storey plane frame structure are conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed damage identification approach. The initial finite element model of the structure and measured acceleration measurements from the damaged structure are used for the identification with a dynamic response sensitivity-based model updating method. The simulated damages can be identified accurately without and with a 5% noise effect included in the simulated responses. Experimental studies on a steel plane frame structure in the laboratory are performed to further verify the accuracy of response reconstruction with PSDT and validate the proposed damage identification approach. The locations of the introduced damage are detected accurately and the stiffness reductions in the damaged elements are identified close to the true values. The identification results demonstrated the accuracy of response reconstruction as well as the correctness and efficiency of the proposed damage identification approach.

In this paper, a detuning factor (DeFac) method is proposed to design the key parameters for optimizing the transfer power and efficiency of an Inductively Coupled Power Transfer (ICPT) system with primary-secondary side compensation. Depending on the robustness of the system, the DeFac method can guarantee the stability of the transfer power and efficiency of an ICPT system within a certain range of resistive-capacitive or resistive-inductive loads. A MATLAB-Simulink model of a ICPT system was built to assess the system's main evaluation criteria, namely its maximum power ratio (PR) and efficiency, in terms of different approaches. In addition, a magnetic field simulation model was built using Ansoft to specify the leakage flux and current density. Simulation results show that both the maximum PR and efficiency of the ICPT system can reach almost 70% despite the severe detuning imposed by the DeFac method. The system also exhibited low levels of leakage flux and a high current density. Experimental results confirmed the validity and feasibility of an ICPT system using DeFac-designed parameters.
In this paper, dynamic and static bending of ball modelled by nanocomposite microbeam by nanoparticles seeing agglomeration is presented. The structural damping is considered by Kelvin-Voigt model. The agglomeration effects are assumed using Mori-Tanaka model. The football ball is modeled by third order shear deformation theory (TSDT). The motion equations are derived by principle of Hamilton's and energy method assuming size effects on the basis of Eringen theory. Using differential quadrature method (DQM) and Newmark method, the static and dynamic deflections of the structure are obtained. The effects of agglomeration and CNTs volume percent, damping of structure, nonlocal parameter, length and thickness of micro-beam are presented on the static and dynamic deflections of the nanocomposite structure. Results show that with increasing CNTs volume percent, the maximum dimensionless dynamic deflection is reduced about 17%. In addition, assuming CNTs agglomeration increases the dimensionless dynamic deflection about 14%. It is also found that with increasing the CNTs volume percent from 0 to 0.15, the static deflection is decreased about 3 times due to the enhance in the stiffness of the structure. In addition, with enhancing the nonlocal parameters, the dynamic deflection is increased about 3.1 times.
Galaxy/Halo finding based on the friends-of-friend (FoF) algorithm has been widely adopted for its simplicity and expandability to the phase-space. However, cosmological simulations have been progressively bigger in size and more accurate in resolutions, resulting in that galaxy/halo finding gets computationally expensive more and more. In fact, we confirm this issue through our exercise of applying the 6-dimensional (6D) FoF galaxy finder code, VELOCIraptor (Elahi et al.2019) on the NewHorizon simulation (Dubois et al. 2021), in which typical galaxies with about 1e11 Msun (107 particles) are identified with very low speed (longer than a day). We have applied several improvements to the original VELOCIraptor code that solve the low-performance problem of galaxy finding on a simulation with high resolutions. Our modifications find the exact same FoF group and can be readily applied to any tree-based FoF code, achieving a 2700 (12) times speedup in the 3D (6D) FoF search compared to the original execution. We applied the updated version of VELOCIraptor on the entire NewHorizon simulation (834 snapshots) and identified its galaxies and halos. We present several quick comparisons of galaxy properties with those with GALAXYMaker data.
