분기부(分岐部) 장대(長大)레일화시의 축력거동특성(軸力擧動特性) 해석(解析) (The Parameter Study on the Characteristics of Axial Force in Turnout with Continuous Welded Rail)

  • This paper is to study the characteristics of axial force behavior that operates to the part of turnout when it makes the turnout and the continuous welded rail unifying. The study is to model by using the 50kgN rail No. 15 turnout used in the domestic national railway and the UIC60 rail No. 18 turnout used in the rapid transit railway as the finite elements for analyzing the axial force behavior of the turnout by the continuous welded rail. It is to analyze the characteristics of behavior according to the change of creep resistance, ballast resistance and the change of parameter valuables of heel joint by the axial force simulation in making the continuous welded rail and then, it is to present the result. As the result of research on the parameter valuables through the analysis, it shows that the maximum axial force of turnout by the continuous welded rail are largely subordinated to the maximum resistance of heel joint and the fitting devices than the ballast resistance. Also it shows that the maximum axial force produced changes a lot according to the characteristics of creep resistance of the fitting part and the ballast resistance.

  • In this study, Non-load-carrying EH Grade steels in fillet welded joints were evaluated with both the hot spot stress method and the 1mm stress method. The thickness effect criterion for fatigue strength evaluation of welded of welded steel structures recommendations of the IIW was used to evaluate the fatigue strength of EH40 and EH36 and Both EH40 and EH36 have been compared with FAT 125 curve recommended in the IIW. Furthermore, fatigue strength of the welded tow and the ground conditions for Non-load-carrying EH36 based on the 1mm stress method has been discussed.

  • Sheet or plate bending is one of the most important industrial metal forming processes. Considerable attention has been focused on gaining a better understanding of bending characteristics. One of defaults in bending process is the springback. In this study, the springback characteristics of tailor-welded strips in U-bending process was investigated. Furthermore, effect of the process variables such as the geometry of the tools, thickness combination of workpiece, and welding prcoessing on springback were experimentally clarified. First, tailor-welded strips are joined by the laser welding process and consisted of two types of thickness combinations of the SCPl sheet, $0.8t{\times}1.2t$ and $0.8t{\times}1.6t$ to investigate the effect of different thickness combination on the springback. Secondly, two different directionly welded strips, one was welded along the centerline of the strip-width and the other was along the centerline of strip-length, were adopted to compare the effects of the location of weld line on the springback. Some cases of the experimental results were compared to the results simulated by using a commercial FEM code, PAM-STAMP and the theoretical results using the springback formula as well.

마찰접합 된 STK400 Tube의 미세조직과 기계적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Microstructures and Mechanical Properties on Friction Welded STK400 Tube)

  • We evaluate the properties of friction welded STK400 steel tube in terms of the relationship between microstructures and mechanical properties. Friction welding is conducted at a rotation speed of 1,600 rpm and upset time of 3-7 sec for different thicknesses of STK 400 tubes. To analyse the grain boundary characteristic distributions(GBCDs) in the welded zone, electron backscattering diffraction(EBSD) method is introduced. The results show that a decrease in welding time (3 sec.) creates a notable increase grain refinement so that the average grain size decreases from $15.1{\mu}m$ in the base material to $4.5{\mu}m$ in the welded zone. These refined grains achieve significantly enhanced microhardness and a slightly higher yield and higher tensile strengths than those of the base material. In particular, all the tensile tested specimens experience a fracture aspect at the base material zone but not at the welded zone, which means a soundly welded state for all conditions.

  • The railroad cars or the commercial vehicles are generally manufactured by the spot welding. Among various kinds of spot welded lap joints, multi-lap joints are one of popular joints in manufacturing their body structures. But, fatigue strength of these joints are lower than that of base metal due to high stress concentration at the nugget edge of the spot weld and are known to considerably be influenced by welding conditions as well as the mechanical and geometrical factors. Thus, it is necessary to establish a reasonable and systematic fatigue design criterion for spot welded multi-lap joints. In this paper, the $\Delta$P-N$_{f}$ curves has been rearranged in the $\Delta$$\sigma$-N$_{f}$ relation with the maximum stress at the nugget edge of spot welded multi-lap joints subjected to tensile shear load. Consequently, the fatigue data were evaluated in terms of fracture mechanics by plotting on the $\Delta$OP-N$_{f}$ curves. From the results obtained, both of them have been revealed to be applicable to fatigue design of spot welded multi-lap joints. However, the fracture mechanical approach is found to be more effective than the maximum stress approach in the range on N$_{f}$$\geq$2x10$^{5}$ . .

강교 도장용 블라스트 처리가 면외거셋 용접이음의 피로거동에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Blast Cleaning for Steel Bridge Painting on Fatigue Behavior of Out-of-Plane Gusset Welded Joints)

  • 강구조물의 제작에는 흑피 등의 이물질 제거 및 도장의 부착성 증대를 위해 블라스트 표면처리가 실시되고 있지만, 이러한 도장용 블라스트 처리가 용접이음의 피로거동에 미치는 영향에 대해서는 검토되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 강교 도장용 블라스트 처리가 용접이음부의 피로거동에 미치는 영향을 검토하기 위하여, 용접한 그대로 및 용접 후 블라스트 처리한 면외거셋 용접이음을 대상으로 피로실험을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 강교 도장용 블라스트 처리에 의해 면외거셋 용접이음의 용접지단부 비드접선각도 및 곡률반경이 증가되고 압축잔류 응력이 도입됨을 확인하였다. 그리고 면외거셋 용접이음의 피로수명은 고응력범위에서는 블라스트 처리의 유무와 상관없이 거의 동일하였지만, 저응력범위(150MPa이하)에서는 피로수명이 증가하였으며, 피로한계는 약 160%정도로 크게 증가함을 확인하였다.

  • Statement of problem : The joints of removable partial denture alloys have failed frequently after routine usage. Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the mechanical properties of the laser welded Co-Cr alloys. Material and method : For this study 20 Co-Cr specimens were casted and 10 of them were seperated on the middle area and laser welded with Alpha laser welding machine(Siro Lasertec, Pforzheim, Germany). Rest of them which were as cast, were used as a control group. For the section of the experimental specimens, wire cutting machine was used to make a even gap of the all specimens. Laser welding was done with manufacturer's instrunction and tested each specimen by Instron Machine. Tensile strength, 0.2% yield strength and % elongations were recorded. Fractured surfaces were investigated with SEM. Results : The results were as follows : 1. The tensile strength of the laser welded group(617.7MPa) was about 75% of the as cast group(820.4MPa). It had stastically significant differences(p<0.05). 2. The % elongation of the experimental group was 6.6 which was lower than the control group(14.3). 3. Fracture of the experimental group occured in the welded surface and showed many voids. In contrast, the fracture surface of the control group was showed rough surfaces without any voids. Conclusion : The tensile strengths of the as-cast joints were higher than those for the laser welded joints, and the % elongation of the experimental group was lower than the control group. Porosity was found in laser-welded joints.

피로손상의 누적에 따른 강성변화를 고려한 점용접부의 진동피로해석 (Vibration Fatigue Analysis of Spot Welded Component considering Change of Stiffness due to Fatigue Damage)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 진동 피로해석 기법을 적용하여 다수의 용접점을 포함하고 있는 점용접 구조물의 강성변화를 고려하여 피로수명을 평가하는 것이다. 먼저 모재부 인장특성 및 점용접부의 인장 및 피로특성을 획득하였다. 유한요소법을 적용하여 S-N 선도를 획득하여 피로해석에 적용하였다. 주파수 응답해석을 수행하여 구조물의 전달함수를 획득하였고, 주파수영역에서 0.11의 PSD를 선정하여 수행하였다. 강성변화 및 고유진동수의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 점용접부의 총 6개 지점 중 최소수명이 발생하는 지점을 기준으로 1개씩 제거하여 반복 해석을 수행하였다. 따라서 강성이 낮아질수록 고유주파수도 낮아지는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 조건하에서 진동피로해석을 수행하여 피로손상의 누적에 따른 전달합수의 변화를 고려한 진동피로해석을 수행하였다.

굽힘 하중하의 고장력강 용접 연결부의 피로 평가 (Fatigue Assessment of High Strength Steel Welded Joints Under Bending Loading)

  • 본 연구에서는 자동차 서스펜션 구조에 일반적으로 사용되는 용접부 형상에 대하여 굽힘 하중에 의한 피로수명을 예측할 수 있는 절차를 개발하였다. 이종 재료로 이루어진 실제 제품 용접 연결부의 피로수명 예측을 위해, 복잡한 형상의 제품을 단순화한 용접 시편을 설계하고 이에 대한 굽힘 피로 시험을 진행한 후 모멘트-피로수명(M-N) 선도를 제시하였다. 응력 집중에 의한 영향을 분석하기 위해 시편의 형상을 모델링 한 후 정적 하중에 대한 유한요소해석을 수행하여 균열 발생부의 응력을 구하고 응력-피로수명(S-N) 선도를 제시하였다. 유한요소해석을 통해 구한 응력과 이론 계산을 통해 구해준 응력을 이용하여 응력집중계수를 계산하였고, 응력집중부의 피로평가 방법 개선을 위해 보편적으로 사용되는 피로노치계수 평가법과 굽힘 피로 시험 결과를 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과, 이종 재질 용접 연결부의 정확한 피로 수명평가를 위해서는 기하형상을 고려한 피로노치계수 평가 분석뿐만 아니라 두 소재의 맞대기 용접 시편에 대한 피로 시험을 수행해 주어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

Effects of temperature on the local fracture toughness behavior of Chinese SA508-III welded joint

  • The structural integrity of welded joints in the reactor pressure vessel (RPV) is directly related to the safety of nuclear power plants. The RPV is made from SA508-III steel in a pressurized water reactor. In this study, we investigated the effects of temperature on the tensile and fracture toughness properties of Chinese SA508-III welded joint in different sampling areas in order to provide reference data for structural integrity assessments of RPVs. The specimens used in tensile and fracture toughness tests were fabricated from the base metal (BM), weld metal (WM), and the heat-affected zone (HAZ) in the welded joint. The representative testing temperatures included the ambient temperature (20 ℃), upper shelf temperature (100 ℃), and service temperature (320 ℃). The results showed that temperature greatly affected the fracture toughness (JIC) values for the SA508-III welded joint. The JIC values for BM and HAZ both decreased remarkably from 20 ℃ to 320 ℃. The fracture morphologies showed that the BM and HAZ in the welded joint exhibited fully ductile fracture at 20 ℃, whereas partial cleavage fracture was mixed in ductile fracture mode at 100 ℃ and 320 ℃. The WM exhibited the ductile and cleavage fracture mixed mode at various temperatures, and the JIC values showed slight changes.
