With the rapid growth of the World Wide Web and electronic information services, information is becoming available on-Line at an incredible rate. One result is the oft-decried information overload. No one has time to read everything, yet we often have to make critical decisions based on what we are able to assimilate. The technology of automatic text summarization is becoming indispensable for dealing with this problem. Text summarization is the process of distilling the most important information from a source to produce an abridged version for a particular user or task. Information retrieval(IR) is the task of searching a set of documents for some query-relevant documents. On the other hand, text summarization is considered to be the task of searching a document, a set of sentences, for some topic-relevant sentences. In this paper, we show that document information, that is more reliable and suitable for query, using document length normalization of which is gained through information retrieval . Experimental results of this system in newspaper articles show that document length normalization method superior to other methods use query itself.

Quality function deployment (QFD) provides a specific approach for ensuring quality throughout each stage of the product development and production process. Since the focus of QFD is placed on the early stage of product development, the uncertainty in the input information of QFD is inevitable. If the uncertainty is neglected, the QFD analysis results are likely to be misleading. It is necessary to equip practitioners with a new QFD methodology that can model, analyze, and dampen the effects of the uncertainty and variability in a systematic manner. Robust QFD is an extended version of QFD methodology, which is robust to the uncertainty of the input information and the resulting variability of the QFD output. This paper discusses recent research issues in Robust QFD. The major issues are related with the determination of overall priority, robustness evaluation, robust prioritization, and web-based Robust QFD optimizer. Our recent research results on the issues are presented, and some of future research topics are suggested.

This paper presents a 3D-conferencing system as a prototype implementation of concurrent and distributed engineering environment using CORBA-Java and SDAI-Java. The system consists of some client and server objects that communicate with each other via ORB. The server objects use lightweight version of current working draft of SDAI-Java to access STEP product data models, and the client objects provide user-friendly graphical interface. The proposed system can be used for communicating with 3D CAD data between remote designers, manufactures and customers regardless of he H/W or S/W platforms they use.

본 연구에서는 최신의 정보기술을 적용한 XML 기반 충남대학교 전자도서관 웹사이트를 대상으로 사용성 평가를 실시하였다. 사용성 평가는 로그파일 분석, 온라인 설문조사 그리고 발견평가의 3가지 방법을 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 사용자 입장에서의 대학도서관 웹사이트 서비스의 문제점을 분석$\cdot$평가하여 개선 방안을 제시함으로써 이용자 서비스의 품질 향상을 제고할 수 있는 근거를 마련하고자 한다.

최근 웹이 활성화되고 인터넷이 대중화되면서 지리 정보 시스템 분야에서도 웹 상에서 공간 데이터의 검색 및 관리의 필요성이 대두되었다. 또한, 지리 정보 시스템에서 다루는 공간 데이터는 가변적이고 대용량이기 때문에 이러한 데이터를 효율적으로 처리하기 위해서는 웹 기반 공간 OODBMS의 사용이 적합하다. 이러한 웹 기반 공간 OODBMS를 사용하는 실제 응용프로그램에서 다중 사용자 환경에서의 협동 작업이 효율적으로 수행되기 위해서는 객체들의 버전 뿐만 아니라 일정 영역내의 연관된 객체들의 접합인 형상을 효율적으로 관리하는 것이 절실히 필요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기존의 형상 관리 시스템, 버전관리 시스템, 협동작업 기법을 분석하여 웹 기반공간 OODBMS를 위한 형상 버전 관리 모델을 제시하였다. 형상 버전 관리 모델은 형상을 효과적으로 관리하기 위하여 형상 그래프와 형상 버전 클래스, 형상 Genetic 클래스, 형상 노드 클래스와 같은 세 개의 형상 버전 관리 클래스를 내부적으로 사용한다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 이러한 형상 버전 관리 모델에 따라 형상 버전 처리 모듈, 형상 Genetic 처리 모듈, 형상 노드 처리 모듈, 형상 그래프 처리 모듈, 협동 작업 처리 모듈로 구성되는 웹 기반 공간 OODBMS를 위한 형상 버전 관리자를 개발하였다.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the readability and suitability of patients' education materials on DM. A total of 34 materials on DM from public health centers, general hospitals, and internet web sites were evaluated for readability by 'graded system of vocabulary', and suitability by 'The Korean version of SAM(Suitability Assessment of Materials)'. On the average, 28.3% of 1st grade reading level words, 27.1% of 5th grade level and over were included in educational materials. For suitability, 6(17.6%) were judged superior, 20(58.8%) adequate, 8(23.6%) inadequate. The reading level of the materials was higher than the recommended reading level(6th grade reading level). For suitability, most of materials were inadequate in some of items such as 'summary or review included', 'context given', 'interaction used'. It is proposed that in the development of patients' educational materials, health literacy of target population should be considered.

Objective: This study aimed to construct an overview of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) scales for application in studies of traditional Korean medicine (TKM). Methods: We analyzed all HRQOL scales from the PROQOLID web site (www.proqolid.org) regarding to classification, application purposes, and translation to Korean version. We also searched clinical studies focused on "Quality of Life" using TKM. Results: A total of 660 HRQOL instruments were analyzed; 99 were for general condition while 559 were disease-specific. Twenty clinical studies for TKM were conduced using HRQOL scales. Conclusion: The adaptation of the international HRQOL instrument is strongly recommended in TKM-associated clinical study, and development of a TKM-specific HRQOL scale is needed for globalization of TKM.

소프트웨어가 전함에 따라 프로젝트의 규모가 커지게 되고, 참여 인원이 늘어나게 된다. 대규모의 프로젝트를 관리하는 것은 매우 복잡하고 어려운 작업이다. 버전관리 시스템은 이러한 대규모의 프로젝트를 관리하는데 있어 매우 유용한 도구로써 사용되고 있다. RSC, SCCS, 클리어케이스, CVS등 많은 버전관리 시스템이 있지만, 그 중 CVS는 대표적인 버전관리 시스템으로써 대부분의 오픈 소스 프로젝트에서 사용되고 있을 정도로 그 성능을 인정받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 버전관리 시스템의 가장 완성적인 형태라고도 불리는 CVS에 대한 특징을 연구하고 CVS가 가지는 장 단점을 살펴보고 CVS의 성능을 개선시킬 수 있는 자동화된 버전관리 시스템을 제안한다.

Recent advances in computer technology have brought more dependence on software to train control systems. Hence, the safety assurance of the vital software running on the railway system is very critical task and yet, not many works have been done. While much efforts have been reported to improve the safety of electronic hardware, not so much systematic approaches to evaluate the safety of software, especially for the vital software running on board train controllers. In this paper, we propose the guide line of actually applicable software safety assessment in train control systems. And we demonstrate the results of developing a new tool based on web system version for software assessment management.

The usage of controlled biomedical vocabularies is the cornerstone that enables seamless interoperability when using a common data model across multiple data sites. The Observational Health Data Science and Informatics (OHDSI) initiative combines over 100 controlled vocabularies into its own. However, the OHDSI vocabulary is limited in the sense that it combines multiple terminologies and does not provide a direct way to link them outside of their own self-contained scope. This issue makes the tasks of enriching feature sets by using external resources extremely difficult. In order to address these shortcomings, we have created a linked data version of the OHDSI vocabulary, connecting it with already established linked resources like bioportal, bio2rdf, etc. with the ultimate purpose of enabling the interoperability of resources previously foreign to the OHDSI universe.
