농산폐기물(農産廢棄物)의 메탄발효(醱酵)와 그 이점(利點) (Anaerobic Digestion of Agricultural Wastes and 1ts Benefits)

  • Anaerobic digestion has recently attracted all over the world and Korea also shows no exception. The major benefits of anaerobic digestion are energy production, water pollution control, pathogen reduction and effective manure production. In Korea it was recognized in late sixties that there was a positive need to find alternative energy for farmers household. The main traditional energy sources in rural area were crop residues and forestry products. Therefore Office of Rural Development through its Rural Guidance Bureau disseminated about 29,000 household biogas units from 1969 to 1975 to provide cooking fuel for farmers household and to improve the mode of farmers living standards. The units were welcomed by farmers at that time. Now, however, most of them are not using due to a number of reasons associated with cold winter and some techno-economical problems (in those day, fossil fuel was quite expensive to compare with other prices and since then farmers income was quickly increased). The author studied on bag type household biogas plant to solve some technical problems of existing household biogas plants, but this also has little appeal for the farmers. From 1977 author studied on village scale biogas plant with two pilot plants. From the viewpoint of energy production, COD removal, kill rate of pathogen and fertilizer value, the results obtained from the experiments were quite promising, but the construction cost of the village scale biogas plant was too high for the farmers in Korea. To find most suitable biogas plant for farmers in Korea through the simplifying the biogas digester, the author developed batch-load biogas plant. By feeding coarse crop residues and manures, total solids concentrations of the batch-load biogas plant are about 28 percent which is much higher than continous digester of 5-8 percent. The batch-load biogas plant was welcomed by many farmers in Korea when it was reported on TV and newspapers. The plant was disseminated 154 units in 1982, 766 units in 1983 and 812 units in 1984 as a promissing project. Besides these biogas plant experiments, studies were also conducted 1) to determine gas production rate with agricultural wastes, 2) to evaluate the effect of loading rate, dilution, retention time on biogas production, 3) to project the amount of potencial energy from agricultural wastes.

Gum류를 첨가한 우육 Patty의 품질 및 기호성 (Quality and Palatability of Beef Patty Containing Gums)

  • 본 연구는 gum류의 첨가가 우육 patty의 품질에 미치는 영향을 검토하기 위하여 실시하였다. 생육 및 가열육 patty의 수분함량은 대조구가 낮았고, 지방함량은 대조구가 유의하게 높았다. 그리고 생육 patty의 단백질함량은 gum류 첨가구가 대조구보다 높게 나타났다. 생육 patty의 $L^{*}$ 값은 대조구가 gum류 첨가구보다 높았으나, $a^{*}$$b^{*}$ 값은 patty들 사이에 차이가 없었다. 또 가열육 patty의 $L^{*}$ , $a^{*}$$b^{*}$ 값은 4종류 patty들 사이에 차이가 없었다. 가열육 patty의 조리수율, 지방보유율 및 보수력은 gum류 첨가구가 대조구보다 높았다. 우육 patty의 경도 및 씹힘성은 대조구와 gum류 첨가구 사이에 차이가 없었으나, 껌성은 gum류 첨가구보다 높게 나타났다. 관능검사 결과 향기, 다즙성 및 전체적인 기호도는 patty들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었으나, 조직감은 gum류 첨가구가 대조구보다 높았다.

수령(樹齡)에 의한 포플러펄프의 성질(性質)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Studies on the Properties of Mechanical Pulp from Italian Poplar Wood(Populus euramericana I-476) by the Age of Tree)

  • The first step to utilize the growing resources of Italian poplar (Populus euramericana I-476) for pulp-Woods, its characteristics and adaptabilities to the pulp industry must be investigated completely. The plantation methods are important for its fast growing in stock, and no less important is the cutting age for its utilization as pulpwood. In this paper, the stone groundwood pulping, refiner groundwood pulping and chemi-groundwood pulping characteristics by the age of tree, along with their physical and chemical characterstics were tested, and relationships between the age groups were analyzed to find out the optimum felling age. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The coefficient of pliability was a little higher in the case of younger trees. 2. The water retention value of each pulp was directly proportional to its physical strength, but this tendency was not detected between the age groups of sample woods. 3. Generally, the physical strength of younger wood pulp was lower regardless of the pulping process. But in the case of pretreatment with NaOH, Asphund and CGP pulp from 5 year old sample wood were stronger in physical strengths than those of GP and Asplund pulp with no pretreatment from 10 years old sample wood. 4. The tear factor of Asplund pulp with alkali pretreatment was higher than that of CGP pulp but the breaking length and the burst factor was similar in all processes. Considering the pulp yield and its brightness, CGP process seems to be advantageous. 5. The dissimilarity of physical strength between 7 and 10 years old wood pulp was not very large in all pulping processes but the physical strength of 5 year old wood pulp was very weak. In the of groundwood pulping from Italian poplar woods, 5 year old wood pulp should be mixed with other long fiber pulp for making a good paper.

초기 소재와 소성조건이 투수반응벽체인 대공극흡착제 조상에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the Starting Materials and Sintering Conditions on Composition of a Macroporous Adsorbent as Permeable Reactive Barrier)

  • 본 실험은 지하수에 포함된 중금속을 제거하기 위한 투수성반응벽체를 개발하기 위하여 대공극 형성물질로 분쇄한 폐지와 식물섬유를 그리고 구조형성소재로 Na와 Ca-벤토나이트를 사용하여 소성 후 소성된 소재의 표면 구조와 공극발달 특성을 조사하였다. 그러나 소성은 중금속 제거율을 급격히 감소시키는 양이온교환용량에 영향을 미치므로 2:1 점토광물 중에서 양이온교환용량이 큰 점토광물과 일반 산업물질을 소재를 선정하였다. 연구 결과는 살펴보면 소성온도가 증가함에 따라 소성에 사용된 소재의 기존 CEC의 10 % 이하로 급격히 감소되는 경향을 보여주었다. 일축 압축 시험 결과 처리간 용적밀도는 큰 차이가 없었지만 Na와 Ca-벤토나이트를 소성소재 모두 폐지가 5 % 정도 처리하였을 때 압축강도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 소성온도와 기간 모두 공극 형성에 영향을 미친 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 연구 결과로부터 다공체 내에 형성된 공극은 수분 투수 특성과 중금속 제거에 모두 영향을 미칠 것이라 추정하였다.

HPLC 분석법을 이용한 이중탕(理中湯) 제제의 품질평가 (Quality Assessment of Ijung-tang Preparations Using a HPLC Analysis)

  • Objectives : Ijung-tang (IJT) is a traditional herbal formula and has been used to treat digestive diseases such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. IJT consists of four herbal medicines, Ginseng radix, Atractylodis rhizoma alba, Zingiberis rhizoma, and Glycyrrhizae radix et rhizoma, containing various bioactive compounds. Quality assesment of IJT preparations was performed by analytical method for determining marker compounds.Methods : Determination of seven marker compounds in IJT preparations was quantitatively conducted by high-performance liquid chromatography equipped with a diode-array detector. The marker compounds were separated on a reversed-phase C18 column and the analytical method was successfully validated. Chemometric analysis was performed to compare IJT water extracts and commercial IJT granules.Results : Limit of detection and limit of quantification values were in the ranges of 0.093-2.649 μg/mL and 0.283-8.027 μg/mL, respectively. Precisions were 0.30-3.87% within a day and 0.23-2.35% over three consecutive days. Recoveries of the marker compounds ranged from 87.35-107.05%, with relative standard deviation (RSD) values < 6.15%. Repeatabilities were < 1.20% and < 1.71% of RSD value for retention time and absolute peak area, respectively. The results from quantitative analysis showed that the quantities of seven marker compounds of IJT samples varied, as were found in principal component analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis.Conclusions : The analytical method developed in the present study was precise and reliable to simultaneously determine marker compounds of IJT. Therefore, it can be used for the quality assessment of IJT preparations.

봄철 건조기 용기형 벽면녹화에서 식재지반 조성에 따른 황금줄사철의 적응성 (Growth Response on the Euonymus fortunei 'Emelad' n 'Gold' as affected by Artificial Plantings Soil Properties during Dry Spring Season)

  • For evaluating the effect of various artificial planting soil properties on the Euonymus fortunei 'Emelad'n Gold' growth, a container green wall system experiment was conducted in a wall of greenhouse at Konkuk University, Glocal campus. The experimental artificial planting grounds were prepared with different organic soil conditioner ratios (Control, $A_4O_1$, $A_2O_1$ and $A_1O_1$) and with drought tolerance and an ornamental value Euonymus fortunei 'Emelad'n Gold' was planted. The soil and plant characteristics were investigated from April to Jun 2010. The volumetric soil moisture contents were significantly increasing order as the amount of organic soil conditioner level increased in order to $A_1O_1$ > $A_2O_1$ > $A_4O_1$ > Control. At 4 treatment, soil chemical properties were inversely related to organic soil container ratios increase. The differences of root collar caliper, number of branch, and survival rate between the organic soil conditioner ratio were not significantly affected by organic soil conditioner. But, plant height, internode length, leaf length and leaf width were significantly shorter on plants planted $A_1O_1$ than plants planted other treatments. Therefore, Euonymus fortunei 'Emelad'n Gold' had good growth response regardless of organic soil conditioner ratio and the plant is expected to be a highly valuable shrub for the green wall system if it should be considered in integration with stormwater retention or as a soil conditioner for increasing soil water contents in artificial planting soil.

The Effect of Variety and Growing Conditions on the Chemical Composition and Nutritive Value of Wheat for Broilers

  • The aim of this study was to examine the effect of variety and growing conditions of wheat on broiler performance and nutrient digestibility. One hundred and sixty-four wheat samples, collected from a wide range of different sources, locations, varieties and years, were analyzed for a range of chemical and physical parameters. Chemical and physical parameters measured included specific weight, thousand grain weight (TG), in vitro viscosity, gross energy, N, NDF, starch, total and soluble non-starch polysaccharides (NSP), lysine, threonine, amylose, hardness, rate of starch digestion and protein profiles. Ninety-four of the wheat samples were selected for inclusion in four bird trials. Birds were housed in individual wire metabolizm cages from 7 to 28 d and offered water and feed ad libitum. Dry matter intake (DMI), live weight gain (LWG) and gain:feed were determined weekly. A balance collection was carried out from 14 to 21 d for determination of apparent metabolizable energy (AME), ME:gain, DM retention, oil and NDF digestibility. At 28 d the birds were sacrificed, the contents of the jejunum removed for determination of in vivo viscosity and the contents of the ileum removed for determination of ileal DM, starch and protein digestibility. The wheat samples used in the study had wide-ranging chemical and physical parameters, leading to bird DMI, LWG, gain:feed, ME:GE, AME content and ileal starch and protein digestibility being significantly (p<0.05) affected by wheat sample. A high level of N fertilizer application to the English and NI wheat samples tended to benefit bird performance, with increases of up to 3.4, 7.2 and 3.8% in DMI, LWG and gain:feed, respectively. Fungicide application also appeared to have a positive effect on bird performance, with fungicide treated (+F) wheat increasing bird DMI, LWG and gain:feed by 6.6, 9.3 and 2.7%, over the non-fungicide treated (-F) wheats. An increase (p<0.1) of 9.3% in gain:feed was also observed at the low seed rate of 40 compared to 640 seeds/$m^2$. It was concluded that the type of wheat sample and environmental growing conditions significantly affects bird performance when fed wheat-based diets.

일광(日光) 노출(露出)이 고추 가루의 탈색(脫色)에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Sun Light on Color Bleaching of Red Pepper Powder)

  • 고추 가루 저장(貯藏) 시(時) 일광(日光) 노출(露出) 하(下)에서 일어나는 표면적색소(表面赤色素)의 탈색(脫色) 현상을 일사량(日射量), 고추의 건조(乾燥) 방법(方法), 고추 가루의 입도(粒度), 수분(水分) 활성도(活性度) 및 광(光) 파장(波長)등의 제반 인자(因子)들과 관련하여 연구하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 고추 가루를 일광(日光)에 노출시킬 때 고춧가루의 표면색(表面色)은 적색소(赤色素) 보지솔(保持率)(잔존(殘存) capsanthin 함양(含量)/초기(初期) capsanthin 함양(含量)이 0.5에 이를때 까지 급격히 감소되었으며 그후에는 완만한 감소 현상을 보였다. 2. 일정한 광량(光量)을 조사(照射)할 때 고추의 건조 시간이 길었던 고추 가루와 입자가 작은 것일수록 탈색 현상이 심하였다. 3. 일광 탈색 현상에 고추가루의 수분 활성도의 영향이 뚜렷하였으며 $a_w$값이 0.5이하(以下)에서는 그값이 낮을수록 탈색 반응이 촉진되었으며, $a_w$이 0.5이상에서 는 별로 큰 변화를 나타내지 않았다. 4. 광(光) 파장(波長)이 짧을수록 탈색 반응을 촉진하였다. 따라서 고춧가루의 적색소(赤色素) 보존(保存)을 위해서는 적색(赤色) 포장 필름을 사용함이 바람직하다.

Gum류가 저지방 계육 Patty의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Gums on the Quality of Low Fat Chicken Patty)

  • 저지방 계육 patty는 지방 10%에 sodium alginate(SA구), arabia gum(AG구) 및 xanthan gum(AG구)를 각각 0.5%씩 첨가하여 제조하였으며, 대조구는 지방 20%를 첨가하여 제조하였다. 생육, 가열육 및 재가열육 patty의 수분함량은 대조구가 gum류 첨가구보다 낮았고, gum류 첨가구 사이에는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 조지방 함량은 대조구가 gum류 첨가구보다 높았으며, 조단백질 함량은 patty들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 생육 patty의 Hunter's $L^{*}$ (명도)값은 대조구가 gum류 첨가구보다 높았고, $a^{*}$ (적색도)값은 patty들 사이에 차이가 없었으며, $b^{*}$ (황색도)값은 대조구가 gum류 첨가구보다 높았다. 그러나 가열육 및 재가열육의 Hunter's $L^{*}$ , $a^{*}$$b^{*}$ 값은 patty들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 가열육 patty의 수율은 대조구가 gum류 첨가구보다 낮았으며, 지방 보유율도 대조구가 gum류 첨가구보다 낮게 나타났다. 재가열육 patty의 수율 및 지방 보유율도 대조구가 gum류 첨가구보다 낮았으며, 최종 수율도 gum류 첨가구가 대조구보다 높게 나타났다. 가열육 patty의 경도는 patty들 사이에 차이가 없었지만, 탄성, 응집성 및 씹힘성은 gum류 첨가구가 대조구보다 높았다. 가열육 patty의 보수력도 gum류 첨가구가 대조구보다 높았다. 그리고 재가열육 patty의 경도는 patty들 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 탄성은 AG구가 가장 높고, 대조구가 가장 낮았다. 재가열육 patty의 응집성, 씹힘성 및 보수력은 대조구보다 gum류 첨가구가 높게 나타났다. 계육 patty의 지방산 조성비율은 oleic acid( $C_{18:1}$), palmitic acid( $C_{16:0}$), linoleic acid( $C_{18:2}$), stearic acid( $C_{18:0}$)의 순으로 많았고, 아미노산 조성은 glutamic acid, aspartic acid, lysine, leucine, arginine, alanine의 순으로 많았다. 향기는 patty들 사이에 차이가 없었으나, 조직감은 gum류 첨가구가 대조구보다 높았으며, gum류 첨가구 사이에는 조직감의 차이가 없었다. 그리고 다즙성, 맛 및 전체적인 기호성은 지방이나 gum류의 첨가가 영향을 미치지 않았다.않았다.않았다.

큰구슬 우렁이 (Neverita didyma) 보일드 통조림의 가열살균(加熱殺菌) 조건(條件)에 따른 품질변화(品質變化) (Changes in Quality of Boiled Neverita didyma as a Function of Autoclaving Conditions)

  • 서해산(西海産) 큰구슬우렁이의 보다 효율적(效率的)인 이용방안(利用方案)을 모색하기 위하여 시도(試圖)한 보일드통조림의 가열살균조건구명(加熱殺菌條件究明) 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 큰구슬우렁이생육(生肉)은 고단백(高蛋白), 저지방식품(低脂肪食品)이었으며, 특(特)히 탄수화물함량(炭水化物含量)은 1% 전후(前後)였다. 2. 가열처리시(加熱處理時) 응고성물질(凝固性物質)은 액즙(液汁) 1ml당(當) $0.37{{\sim}}0.40g\;N$. 이상에서만 응고현상(凝固現象)이 일어났다. 따라서 $105^{\circ}C$, 20분(分), $110^{\circ}C$, 40분(分), $115^{\circ}C$, 20분(分)이상 처리시에만 발견(發見)할 수 있었다. 3. 유효성(有效性) lysine은 $110^{\circ}C$, 20분(分)보다는 $125^{\circ}C$, 20분(分)에서 12% 감소(減少)하는 반면, 20분(分)에서 109분(分)까지는 약(約) $17%{{\sim}}22.8%$의 변화(變化)를 보였다. 4. 각 처리구(處理區)의 생균검출(生菌檢出)은 $110^{\circ}C$, 80분(分), $115^{\circ}C$, 40분(分) 이상에서는 검출(檢出)되지 않았다. 5. 큰구슬우렁이 생육(生肉)에서는 tryptophan이 제한(制限)아미노산이었으며, 다른 패류(貝類)의 약(約) 57%(0.83g/16g N.) 밖에 되지 않았고, 보일드육(肉)에서는 methionine (보유율 87%)이 가장 많이 손상(損傷)되었다. 또한 PPDRI치(値)는 생육(生肉) 63.16, 보일드육(肉) 65.85($115^{\circ}C$, 40분(分) 처리(處理)로 생육(生肉)보다 가열처리육(加熱處理肉)이 높았다. 6. 이상의 결과(結果)로 보아 최적가열살균온도(最適加熱殺菌溫度) 및 시간(時間)은 생균수(生菌數), 응고성물질(凝固性物質), 유효성(有效性) lysine을 감안하여 $115^{\circ}C$, 40분(分) 처리(處理)가 바람직하다고 생각되었다.
