  • The purpose of this study evaluates the water quality of artificial deep pool (ADP) during the late spring and summer. we monitored the water quality, as pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), temperature and conductivity at two stations (St. 1. open water, St. 2. in the ADP). The water quality in the ADP is very stable, and temperature and DO are lower than the open water (average value; temperature $1.4{\sim}3.2^{\circ}C$, DO 2.4~3.6 mg/L). In particular, daily variation of temperature in the open water showed above $4^{\circ}C$, but ADP remained stable. The water quality was analyzed using two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results of the analysis showed difference about temperature, pH, DO, conductivity (two-way ANOVA, p<0.05). The ADP has created an aqua environment in thermal and DO gradients by depth. About 1.2 m, Temperature and DO were sharply decreased. The Rhodeus uyekii is dominant species in pond of this study. The ADP offers optimum water temperature ($16.5{\sim}18.5^{\circ}C$) to the Rhodeus uyekii about spawning. Consequently, the ADP offers stable habitat than open water for fish and aquatic organisms during the summer. It is also a good shelter for fish from a thermal stress.

  • Water quality of Masan-Jinhae Bay was monitored from January 1996 to August 1997. The monitoring focused on the spatial and vertical gradients and seasonal changes of eutrophication parameters such as nutrients, DO and water transparency. Flagellate phytoplanktons persistently bloomed from April to October with monospecific or mixed algal blooms and dynamic algal successions were observed in this area. Algal blooms were highly correlated with salinity drops and made the water less transparent. Stratification of oxygen content was persistent through summer and oligo-oxygenation was developed in the bottom waters. Nutrient gradients were consistently maintained through the depth in summer and through spatial distribution from inner Masan Bay to outer Jinhae Bay in winter. Except the rainfall seasons, water quality was under the influence of the waste waters discharged from watershed around the Masan Bay. The waste waters would act as the primary factor for the water quality deterioration of the bay. Literature data for eutrophication were gathered and analyzed to review the water quality trends of the Masan and Jinhae bays since 1970. Annual mean COD and phosphate concentration consistently increased from 1975 to 1990 and decreased or dropped after 1991. The sediment of inner part of Masan Bay was dredged from 1991 to 1994 as a decontamination process and it is assumed that the dredging has weakened more or less the deterioration trend of the water quality of the bay.

  • The duration and frequency of flooding and not last long, by the time climate change drought. The increased accordingly by reducing stream flow and year variation. This trend is expected to continue, and change towards a comprehensive analysis of such quantity, quality and management of water resources are managed. Flood warning system is called to perform them electronically to the management of water resources such as these to be in the organic water-related basic data acquisition, storage, processing and utilization. Can be divided into hydrological observations and flood warning systems alert system broadcast system. Hydrological observation system is the measurement from the hydrological stations (water level, rainfall, water) that can be observed hydrological status of the dam basin hydrological observation data transmitted to the central office, located at the dam monitoring and control system through a variety of networks including satellite, and the collected defined as the system that sent the K-water head office in 1 minute increments hydrological observation data. Headquartered in support of this decision. Dimensions of the dam are provided in addition to inward. Channeled through various hydrologic analysis and leveraging the data transfer. • This study was carried out to show the chemical variations of monthly water quality and to estimate the quality as irrigation water at Seo-Lake. The water quality was surveyed at 6 sites for 7 months from May to November in 1999. The average concentration of $COD_{Cr}$ at Seo-Lake was 47.8mg/L. This value meant that the organic matters at the lake would exceed to the crop damage level (50mg/L). Especially, the values in May and in July were 83.07mg/L, 80.64mg/L, respectively. The average concentration of $NH_3-N$ was appeared to 2.84mg/L. But it was shown 5.72mg/L in May. That could put a restraint on the productive power of the crops. It was supposed that happened by eutrophication. And the water pollutant levels were high at stagnation part of the lake. But average water quality of the lake could be used for irrigation. The result showed that the research and the management of water quality were needed to make the lake water more suitable as the source for irrigation.

  • This research was conducted to investigate the seasonal changes in physicochemical characteristics of stream water at the four points in the northeastern part of the Puk'ansan National Park from July of 1998 to November of 2000. The average pH of stream water was 6.6(6.53~6.74) and the dissolved oxygen was ranged from 11.0 to $11.3mg/{\ell}$, which indicated that the water quality could be categorized in the first class for the quality of river water quality standard. The average electrical conductivity of stream water was 106.8(52.3~154.0) ${\mu}S/cm$ and the electrical conductivities of downstream water were ranged from 139.4 to $154{\mu}S/cm$, which were about 1.7~3.0 times higher than those in upstream water that showed from 52.3 to $81.6{\mu}S/cm$. The amount of anion($Cl^-$, $NO{_3}^-$, $SO{_4}^{2-}$) which indicates the pollution index in downstream was higher than that in upstream, In addition, the seasonal impacts of pollution on stream water were higher in Autumn than in Spring or Summer.

  • In order to understand the spatiotemporal variation of water quality, an investigation on variation characteristics of water quality was conducted at 13 stations in Yongil bay from 1990 to 1998. The salinity in summer was relatively lower than that in other seasons and it have increased from inner bay to outside of the bay gradually. However, nitrate concentration in summer was relatively higher than that in other seasons, and it was the highest, up to $65.40\%$, among dissolved inorganic nitrogens, Nitrate concentration indicates the possibility of affecting by freshwater discharges to Yongil bay. Correlation analysis showed that salinity had a significantly good correlation with nitrate. This result suggested that inflow of river had an influence on increase of nitrate. The result of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) indicated that nitrate was major factor to influence the water quality in Yongil Bay.

  • Ground seawater quality was investigated, and the algal growth potential (AGP) tests were performed along the Tongyeong coast to examine the inflow of materials, which is needed for the red tide species Cochlodinium polykrikoides to grow. The study was conducted to determine the mechanism for C. polykrikoidesred tides. Water temperature, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO) ranged from 16.05 to $20.74^{\circ}C$, 18.20 to 32.11 psu, 6.00 to 7.61, and 3.41 to 7.91 mg/L (41.4-96.1%), respectively. No seasonal variation was observed in water temperature. The salinity, pH, and DO saturations at most stations were lower than those of coastal seawater at Tongyeong. The ${NH_4}^+$-N, ${NO_{2+3}}^-$-N, ${PO_4}^{3-}$-P concentrations ranged from 0.43 to 16.00 ${\mu}M$, 1.50 to 132.38 ${\mu}M$, and 1.30 to 6.29 ${\mu}M$, respectively; the values at some stations were much higher than observed in Tongyeong coast seawater. Using seawater from station B, C. polykrikoides grew consistently, with a high growth rate, similar to the red tide in nature. This seawater appeared to contain materials needed by C. polykrikoides to grow. Therefore, C. polykrikoides red tides seem to occur wherever the ground sea water contains materials that are needed for its growth.

  • The results of water analysis for 10 stations in the main Naktong and 11 stations in the tributaries from March to December 1968 are as follows: The water quality of the Naktong River Basin is generally the frist class of water, especially the tributaries, Hwang river, Nam river, Milyang river, Naesongchun, Hoechun, Wichun and Panbyunchun were dissolved in less than 100 mg/l as the amount of the total ion of the main component. In comparison with river discharge, the amount of the total ion of the main component is decreased in June and July, because of the river discharge is increased in those periods. According to the measurement of the conductivity and the hardness, the better water quality is distinguished by the following order: lower part of river (Namji), middle part of river (Waegwan), upper part of river (Yean). The conductivity of Kumho river, Tongchon is higher than the middle part of the main river and Nam river, Chongam is smaller than lower part of the main rivller. The variation of the amount of the total ion of main component in the basin is mainly effected by $HCO_3^-, SO_4^{-2}, Cl^-, Ca^{+2}$. The relationship between $[K^+]\;and\;[C^l-]\;and\;[Na^+]\;and\;[Cl^-]\;are\;[K^+]=0.04\;[Cl^-]+1.7\;mg/l,\;[Na^+]=0.06\;[Cl^-]$ mg/l .The main river was much contaminated by Kumho river and C.O.D. at Gang-chung, Kumho river in June was recorder over the standard about 7 times.
