This study attempts to suggest new directions of urban multi-family housing design in the recent era of information, in which the representation of publicity and privacy of the housing reflects new meanings and relationships of the current digital society. The study examines cases of Dutch multi-family housing and investigates the meanings and relationships of publicity and privacy in the building as well as unit design of the housings. Borneo-Sporenburg housing development is a good example that suggests new interpretation and design solution for low-rise, high-density multi-family housing. Thus, this study analyzes street patterns, facade design, and ways of housing unit combination in Borneo-Sporenburg housing and concludes as follows. First, public space in Borneo-Sporenburg housing, which was designed differently from hierarchical and centripetal organization of modern architecture, is divided into small units and spread into the inside, which provides high potential for personal control of space and personal programming of space by space choices. Second, street pattern and facade design of Borneo-Sporenburg housing provide visual publicity and privacy simultaneously as they maintain unity as a whole as well as articulate individual unit in many different ways and provide clues to neighboring. Streets as a public domain have self-controlled boundaries for residents and introduce voluntary use-programs for residents. Third, facades of the housing have no inter-mediate space or common space, and confront streets directly. Space in-between is composed inside the facade and extends into the streets by residents' own choices. Fourth, privacy and individuality of the housing is strengthened. Units of the housing have individual entrances, unique plan type and complicated combination of space that all together emphasize individuality of units, however they are not often notified from the outside.
Even though the importance of emotional aspects in design has been discussed and researched actively, researches mainly focusing on the emotional aspects expressed through architectural materials have been rare. Thus, Previous researches were investigated to draw typical categories to express emotional characteristics through architectural materiality. Case study shows Zumthor's practical methodologies in these state: tectonic expression with creative tectonic methods and local residents' voluntary-participation in construction; enhancement of intimate emotional ties with the local heritage through the usage of local materials and traditional construction techniques; coexistence of past and present materials, and showing the change of materiality via weathering; activation of synesthesia by touching multiple senses; sustainability by using environment friendly materials and construction methods. The results can be hopefully helpful to future researches related to emotional aspects on spatial design.
Capstone design, is a heartfelt cooperation curriculum because the ultimate goal is to train people who already have the ability to complete the tasks of the job without retraining them in the field immediately after being hired. However, there is a need for the design study in the fashion industry where a variety of operating models could be tried; more specifically case studies than engineering. This study was designed to apply to the types of voluntary projects and industrial challenges linked to the different types of virtuous circle window systems over twice in two years. Result capitalization applied to different types of derived forms associated with start-up technology transfer form. In addition, start-up will be done in conjunction with student-centered forms of the participation of Cooperation Coordinator. This was weak in the form of technology transfer interventions which were made as a result of the overall involvement of the industry. In order to elicit the active participation of the industry it is expected that this system will have an ideal company to reflux. Therefore, reflux that created assets to the students, and the reflux of product design created by students in companies professor final a virtuous cycle system operating models that can derive enhancements accept feedback to both students and companies redefining the performing models It presented. This operating model is considered to be able to provide you with a sense of accomplishment and high experiential value to both students and professors, and the industry. In this study, experiments in environmental A Study, silseupbi no support will be given to alternatives to solve them.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate lower extremity muscle activation to the variable weight shift on the affected side of patients with hemiplegia. Methods: Eighteen patients with chronic hemiplegia volunteered to participate in this study. All participants performed three types of weight shift (sideways, forward, and backward) in limits of stability on the affected side. Muscle activation in a paralyzed leg was measured with electromyography on the gluteus medius, tensor fasciae latae, rectus femoris, and biceps femoris; furthermore, the attached area was recommended by SENIAM projects. Each weight shift was performed three times, and then the mean value of the three measurements was analyzed. The data were analyzed by measuring the symmetrically standing position with the reference voluntary contraction (RVC) and was standardized with the percentage of RVC method. Results: No significant difference in lower extremity muscle activation occurred according to the three types of variable weight shift. However, significant differences in lower extremity muscle activation did occur with each weight shift position. In addition, activation increased at the rectus femoris and decreased at the gluteus medius and tensor fasciae latae. Conclusion: Hip abductor muscle strength training and variable weight shifts on the affected side must increase to improve patients'balance and limits of stability.
In July 1993 a new prescription of the EC was finished, concerning the voluntary participation of enterprises in a common auditing system. By this in the EC-member countries there must be founded centers of environmental auditing where experienced experts of environmental auditing should be accredited. These accredited experts are controllers for evaluating and certification of carried out environmental-auditings. An environmental-auditing practically represents an environmental assessment for an already existing enterprise with establishing corresponding programmes and strategies for the internal management to improve the environmental relations. Much experiences, which could be collected in the field of EIA during the last years may be transfered to this new task immediately. Only an essential difference there should not be overseen because of national legislation EIA in the defined cases must be carried out. By the EC-prescription carrying out an environmental-auditing for an enterprise is optional, it is recommended only. It was not introduced as a must. In spite of this fact because of the hard competition on the market there will be developed a pressure for the enterprises, to carry out such environmental-auditings. At present already a number of first projects in this direction can be seen, in the first line above all enterprises with the necessary economic power want to use this possibility, to gain better positions on the market. We have already gathered the first experiences in this field. We arranged corresponding contacts to several enterprises within the surroundings of Dresden. Within an opening discussion, where the project is explained and discussed with the management of the enterprise very detailed, the understanding, the readiness and the cooperation for the project are generated necessary prerequesits for the success of the whole work. By means of careful detail-work in collaboration with all departments and on all levels of the enterprise the total mass and energy-balances of the factory established and analysed. There are included also such ranges like material delivery, personal policy, public relations and sale as well as waste management. It is important that all people working in the factory have the feeling to be our partners, and not to have the impression to be checked or controled by an outside organization. This one of the most important factors of environmental auditing, in order to wake up and to develop a common interest on all sides. At the end of the environmental auditing there will be according to the prescription of the EC a catalogue of measures to do immediately, short time, mean time and long time for improvement of the environmental situation of the enterprise. All proposals are made in connection with a corresponding economic evaluation. These measures and programmes are declared as the environmental manual and are the basis for the work of the environmental management of the enterprise for the next three years. According to the EC-prescription, the enterprise with this environmental manual can get a corresponding certificate, which may be used for public relation purposes.

With this research, another researches about the introduction and utilization of other various manipulative materials for motivating students to efficiently understand what they learn in mathematics class of elementary schools are required.
The purpose of this study was twofold; one was to investigate the elderly people's educational needs on successful aging(Study 1), and the other was to construct the educational program for successful aging and evaluate its effectiveness(Study 2). For Study 1, data were collected with structured questionnaires from the 166 elderly people participating in the government job creation projects for the aged in Gwangju and analyzed using frequency analysis and means-of-different tests. It was found that most of the elderly people strongly desired the education successful aging in terms of health care, finance, social participation, leasure, social network and self acceptance. In Study 2, the educational program for successful aging was constructed based on the results of Study 1 and the effectiveness of the program was evaluated using one-group pretest-posttest experimental design. Data were collected from 34 voluntary participants in the program before and after the implementation of the program and analyzed using the paired samples t-test technique. It was found that the program had a positive effect on the improvement of the elderly people's understanding of successful aging in terms of health care, finance, social participation, leasure, social network and self acceptance. Based on these results, the implementation of the educational program designed in this study was recommended to improve the elderly people's quality of life and the directions for future research were advanced. successful aging, educational needs, educational program, effectiveness.
The potential mitigation of greenhouse gas (GHG) is studied in the Pohang steel industrial complex (PHSIC). The total GHG emission in 2010 is estimated to be in the range from 4,174,000 to 4,574,000 $tCO_2-eq$ in PHSIC. To meet the target proposed by the government, it is needed to reduce 552,000 $tCO_2-eq$ at minium by 2020. To estimate the potential amount of GHG reduction, the technologies used in the voluntary carbon reduction projects are applied to 51 companies which are subject to GHG target management. From the viewpoint of technological availability and payback period, the fuel conversion and waste heat recovery have an advantage in the short term with a possibility to reduce 160,000 $tCO_2-eq$. In the mid term, the thermal technologies in steel and iron industry have the potential to cut 229,000 $tCO_2-eq$, while the electrical technologies have the potential of 125,000 $tCO_2-eq$ reduction. The gap between the target GHG mitigation and potential reduction using the short and mid term technologies is about 38,000 $tCO_2-eq$, which should be compensated by the fundamental process innovation and the implementation of the most cutting-edge technologies including renewable energy.

The primary goal of this research is to link two currently disconnected literature; the history of urban redevelopment and the one of urban parks and open spaces in the United States (US). Through this exercise, this study attempts to reveal examples of urban parks and open spaces that have yielded economic effects, and emphasize their possibility as a measure of urban redevelopment. Five phases are presented, starting with two Pre-World War II urbanization periods, and three subsequent periods of Post-World War II urban redevelopment (1940s~1960s, late 1960s~1970s, 1980s~present). While urban parks in the 19th century urbanization period held a preeminent place in urban design, policy and economy, ensuing depression and World War II diminished their role as a channel to ease unemployment. In the first phase of urban redevelopment, the economic motive to build open space was to boost the appeal of specific locales in order to draw people and businesses back to a neglected city. In the second phase, public effort to create and maintain urban parks and open spaces declined due to the budget austerity, instead, community open spaces flourished through the voluntary actions and helped neighborhoods to regain desirability. In the third phase, the aspirations and functions of such projects resemble their forerunners of the first phase, but their targets extended to global businesses and elites.
