가상현실을 이용한 실시간 차량 그래픽 주행 시뮬레이터 (A Real-Time Graphic Driving Simulator Using Virtual Reality Technique)

  • Driving simulators provide engineers with a power tool in the development and modification stages of vehicle models. One of the most important factors to realistic simulations is the fidelity obtained by a motion bed and a real-time visual image generation algorithm. Virtual reality technology has been widely used to enhance the fidelity of vehicle simulators. This paper develops the virtual environment for such visual system as head-mounted display for a vehicle driving simulator. Virtual vehicle and environment models are constructed using the object-oriented analysis and design approach. Based on the object model, a three-dimensional graphic model is completed with CAD tools such as Rhino and Pro/ENGINEER. For real-time image generation, the optimized IRIS Performer 3D graphics library is embedded with the multi-thread methodology. The developed software for a virtual driving simulator offers an effective interface to virtual reality devices.

  • This paper is about automatic design of measuring master gears. Master gears are usually thought of as gears of extreme accuracy level, but are better defined as gages to check the meshing action of production gears. This is usually not recognized because most mechanical gages are associated with static measurements rather than having the form of machine elements used in a functional check involving machine motion. In this paper the interface that allows beginners to design easily and quickly is provided. The addition and modification of data is easy and the reduced design lead time is feasible with the program even though users don't know much about program since it is developed with Visual Lisp and DCL.

  • 본 논문에서 제안하는 파일 보안 기능은 암호알고리즘을 이용하여 윈도우 운영체제에서 파일을 안전하게 저장함으로써 허락되지 않은 사용자의 접근을 제한하도록 한다. 암호화하여 저장된 파일은 복호화 알고리즘으로 복호화해서 파일데이터를 읽게 된다. 이러한 기능은 사용자들이 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 사용자 인터페이스를 설계하여 프로그램으로 구현한다. 보안 기능으로 구현된 파일 암호화 및 복호화 프로그램을 구동시키고 정상적으로 동작하는지의 여부를 실험하게 된다. 또한 복호화시 암호화 할 때의 설정과 설정이 틀 릴 경우 복호화가 되는지의 여부도 실험한다. 이러한 기능을 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 Visual Studio 환경을 이용하여 UI(User Interface) 기능을 설계한다.

  • 다변량분석 기법을 사용하기 위해서는 자료가 정규성(normality)가정을 만족해야한다. 본 연구에서는 GUI(graphic user interface)환경 하에서 일변량(univariate)과 다변량자료(multivariate data)의 정규성검정, 이상치(outliers)제거 및 변수변환(variable transformation)을 지원하는 시스템을 구축하여 사용자들이 보다 편리하게 사용할 수 있음을 소개 하고자 한다.

  • The White Beamline of the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory(PAL) consists of main and second slits, a microprobe system, two ion chambers, a video-microscope, and a Si(Li) detector. These machine components must be controlled remotely through computer system to make user experiments precise and speedy. A real-time computer control system was developed to control and monitor these machine components. A VNIEbus computer with OS-9 real-time operating system was used for low-level data acquisition and control. VME I/O modules were used for step motor control and scaler control. The software has modular structure for maximum performance and easy maintenance. We developed database, I/O driver, and control software. We used PC/Window95 for data logging and operator interface. Visual C++ was used graphical user interface programming. RS232C was used for communication between VME and PC.

Capacitance-Voltage (C-V) Characteristics of Cu/n-type InP Schottky Diodes

  • Using capacitance-voltage (C-V) and conductance-voltage (G/ω-V) measurements, the electrical properties of Cu/n-InP Schottky diodes were investigated. The values of C and G/ω were found to decrease with increasing frequency. The presence of interface states might cause excess capacitance, leading to frequency dispersion. The negative capacitance was observed under a forward bias voltage, which may be due to contact injection, interface states or minority-carrier injection. The barrier heights from C-V measurements were found to depend on the frequency. In particular, the barrier height at 200 kHz was found to be 0.65 eV, which was similar to the flat band barrier height of 0.66 eV.

Comparison of Electrical Properties between Sputter Deposited Au and Cu Schottky Contacts to n-type Ge

  • Using current-voltage (I-V) and capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements, the electrical properties of Au and Cu Schottky contacts to n-Ge were comparatively investigated. Lower values of barrier height, ideality factor and series resistance were obtained for the Au contact as compared to the Cu contact. The values of capacitance showed strong dependence on the bias voltage and the frequency. The presence of an inversion layer at the interface might reduce the intercept voltage at the voltage axis, lowering the barrier height for C-V measurements, especially at lower frequencies. In addition, a higher interface state density was observed for the Au contact. The generation of sputter deposition-induced defects might occur more severely for the Au contact; these defects affected both the I-V and C-V characteristics.

A Framework for Processing Brain Waves Used in a Brain-computer Interface

  • Recently, methodologies for developing brain-computer interface (BCI) games using the BCI have been actively researched. The existing general framework for processing brain waves does not provide the functions required to develop BCI games. Thus, developing BCI games is difficult and requires a large amount of time. Effective BCI game development requires a BCI game framework. Therefore the BCI game framework should provide the functions to generate discrete values, events, and converted waves considering the difference between the brain waves of users and the BCIs of those. In this paper, BCI game frameworks for processing brain waves for BCI games are proposed. A variety of processes for converting brain waves to apply the measured brain waves to the games are also proposed. In an experiment the frameworks proposed were applied to a BCI game for visual perception training. Furthermore, it was verified that the time required for BCI game development was reduced when the framework proposed in the experiment was applied.

PCB Soldering 공정의 작업 인터페이스 변경에 따른 작업난이도 및 생산성 향상 (Productivity and Task Difficulty Improvement of PCB Soldering Process by Changing Work Interface)

  • When PCB soldering is performed with microscope due to the electronic components' microminiaturization, workers' awkward upper body postures and difficulties being in focus among lens, object and eyes are one of reasons for productivity decline. The object of this study is to investigate the level of difficulties of work and the extent of productivity improvement by changing work interfaces from the work using microscope to the work using LCD monitor. Independent variables was usage of microscope and image system and dependent variables were upper body segments including neck, shoulder, back, and waist, task convenience and eye fatigue. The Visual Analogue Scale (10cm) was used for questionnaire and one way ANOVA (two levels) and two sample t-test were conducted. In addition, RULA rating was conducted for working postures. The result showed that interface changes of LCD monitor, suggested by productivity comparison per one Man Hour, highly contributed to work convenience and productivity improvement.
