검사 안내문의 시각적 디자인화가 환자의 검사 이해도 및 정확성에 미치는 영향 평가 (Evaluation of the influence of a visual design of an examination guide on patient comprehension and testing accuracy)

  • 본 연구는 기존 안내문에서 사용하고 있는 문어체의 글자와 배열, 형태 등을 시각적으로 디자인 및 재배치 함으로써 환자의 이해도 및 검사에 미치는 영향에 대해 평가 하였다. 서울아산병원 핵의학과 영상검사에서 가장 많은 비중을 차지하는 Bone Scan과 $^{201}Thallium$ Myocardium Perfusion SPECT의 Rest Scan 안내문을 개선 대상으로 선정하고, 원내 이노베이션센터와 협의하여 새롭게 디자인 하였다. 2016년 11월부터 2017년 2월은 기존의 안내문을, 2017년 3월부터 5월은 개선된 안내문을 사용하였으며, 개선 전후의 비교를 위해 해당 시기에 Bone Scan을 시행한 환자를 대상으로 안내문에 제시된 전처치 준수 및 그에 따른 영상의 질, 검사 소요시간을 측정하였고, $^{201}Thallium$ Myocardium Perfusion SPECT를 시행한 환자를 대상으로 안내문의 내용 이해에 대한 설문조사와 안내 후 재질문 하는 환자 및 질문유형, 안내문의 내용을 이행하지 않은 환자수를 분석하였다. 개선 후에는 Bone Scan은 전 처치가 미흡한 환자와 그로 인해 추가 영상이 필요한 환자가 감소하였고 평균 검사 소요시간은 안내문 개선 후 추가 영상 획득 시간의 감소로 약 2분 감소하였다. $^{201}Thallium$ Myocardium Perfusion SPECT의 경우 안내문의 내용 이해에 대한 5가지 문항에서 모두 이해도가 증가한 결과를 얻었으며, 검사 관련 재질문 하는 환자와 안내문의 내용을 이행하지 않은 환자 모두 감소하였다. 검사 안내문은 일방적이고 단순한 정보 제공이 아니라 환자 및 보호자와의 원활한 소통으로 이어지며, 영상품질과 업무 효율성을 향상시키고 나아가 검사 소요시간의 관리로 생산성 향상에도 도움을 줄 것으로 사료된다.

The Effects of Computerized Gaming Program on Cognition in Children with Mental Retardation: A Case Study

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analysis of effectiveness between cognitive function assessment scores and gaming cognitive rehabilitation system in children with intellectual impairment. Methods: Five children (male=5, $age=10.00{\pm}0.80$) with intellectual impairment participated in this study and were randomly assigned to the experiment that played (received) gaming cognitive rehabilitation system (Neuroworld). The children were applied 2 times a week for 30 minutes during 3 months. The children were assessed K-WSIC-VI (Korean-Wechsler intelligence scale for children-fourth edition) and recorded that gained score in gaming cognitive rehabilitation system before and after intervention. K-WSIC-VI contained five primary index scores: verbal comprehension index, visual spatial index, fluid reasoning index, working memory index, and processing speed index. Gaming cognitive rehabilitation system scoring was composed visual recall, target recall, sequence recall, selective attention, continuous attention, and exploration. Results: In the intelligence quotient (IQ) of K-WSIC-VI, there were significant increased in all children. The visual recall item was highest effective in all children. However, sequential recall showed the lowest improvement in all children. The performance speed of selective attention item was decreased, this means that children's skills have improved. Also, their ability to explore has improved significantly. Conclusion: In conclusion, gaming cognitive rehabilitation system was significant effectiveness in cognitive function in some categories for children with intellectual impairment. However, the visual recall and performance speed don't represent of all cognitive function. Therefore, further studies will need to verify by applying more subject and longer duration.

An Audio-Visual Teaching Aid (AVTA) with Scrolling Display and Speech to Text over the Internet

  • In this Paper, an Audio-Visual Teaching aid (AVTA) for use in a classroom and with Internet is presented. A system, which was designed and tested, consists of a wireless Microphone system, Text to Speech conversion Software, Noise filtering circuit and a Computer. An IBM compatible PC with sound card and Network Interface card and a Web browser and a voice and text messenger service were used to provide slightly delayed text and also voice over the internet for remote teaming, while providing scrolling text from a real time lecture in a classroom. The motivation for design of this system, was to aid Korean students who may have difficulty in listening comprehension while have, fairly good reading ability of text. This application of this system is twofold. On one hand it will help the students in a class to view and listen to a lecture, and on the other hand, it will serve as a vehicle for remote access (audio and text) for a classroom lecture. The project provides a simple and low cost solution to remote learning and also allows a student to have access to classroom in emergency situations when the student, can not attend a class. In addition, such system allows the student in capturing a teacher's lecture in audio and text form, without the need to be present in class or having to take many notes. This system will therefore help students in many ways.

  • 사용자 인터페이스를 설계하는데 전문가들이 참여하기는 매우 어렵다. 본 논문은 전문가의 의견을 만족할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스를 자동적으로 설계하기 위해 연구되었다. 사용자의 이해도를 높이기 위한 평가의 척도를 개발하고, 가시적 응집도를 지원하는 양질의 사용자 인터페이스를 설계하였다. 사용자 인터페이스에서 비즈니스 이벤트들의 가시적 응집도는 인터페이스의 비즈니스 이벤트를 의미적으로 서로 관련성을 갖도록 클러스터링 하였다 이는 비즈니스 시스템의 이해도를 향상시키고 사용성이 향상되도록 하고 있다. 사용자 인터페이스 프로토타입의 가시적 응집도를 향상시킬 수 있는 추상화 설계의 모델링 방법을 제안하였다.

치매노인의 통증사정에 대한 자가보고 도구의 타당도, 신뢰도 및 효율성 검증 (Validity, Reliability and Efficiency of Pain Self-report Scale in Elderly with Dementia)

  • Purpose: The aim on this study was to establish the validity, reliability and efficiency of a Pain Self-Report Scale for elderly with dementia and compare these results with an observational pain rating scale. Methods: Study subjects were 136 elderly with dementia who were residents in a nursing home, geriatric hospital, or day care center. The subject's pain was measured by five self-report scales and observational scale. DS-DAT (discomfort scale-dementia of the Alzheimer's type) was used for pain behavior observational measure. Cognitive state was assessed using the MMSE (Mini-Mental State Examination). Results: Observational rating correlated moderately with self-report (r=.225~.585, p<.05) and tended to underestimate pain intensity. Test-retest reliability was high for all five self-report scales, and the correlation between these scales was very strong (r=.735~.856, p<.05). Comprehension rate of VDS (verbal descriptor scale) was 88.3%, and NRS (numeric rating scale) 69.9%, FPS (face pain scale) 66.9%, HVAS (horizontal visual analog scale) and VVAS (vertical visual analog scale) 65.4%. Conclusion: Nurses should not apply observational scales routinely in demented patients as many of these are capable of reporting their own pain. Self-report, the highest standard of pain measurement can be reliably performed in a large proportion of demented elderly.

  • This study is based on the Virtual Reality Space what grow rapidly compared with other space type. We make a certain definite possibilities by the functional, material, scientific and conceptual space comparison approved with existing visual space about the function of sound and visual system & the application of the mechanical system. Symbol and Expression Media are showing characteristics more than a tool in Modern times being changed from materialistic world to immaterial one. Especially, Augmented Reality, which is the new technology showing human beings real world and virtual world simultaneously recently and being exceeded to existent many limits, is going ahead. Simulation space is the technology one which can be applied to various fields such as culture, industry and education etc., and it helps human beings to overcome their limitations. The gains from this study are the specified and detailed yardsticks and cases of Simulation(space) facilities classified as a specific space. Therefore, the space mainly consists of the parts on size, equipment, and material etc. judging from technical point of view. Architectural Space, especially, should be considered very importantly in the middle of the transition from image realization to experience. The comprehension on various contents together with mechanical facilities will be requested to the connection applied to physical space expression, and that is what we have to study continuously afterward.

한글 글자 유형이 시각 폭과 읽기 능력에 미치는 영향 (Effect of syllable complexity on the visual span of Korean Hangul reading and its relation to reading abilities)

  • 읽기의 초기 단계에서 처리되는 글자의 정보량을 지칭하는 시각 폭은 개별 글자의 획수가 증가하거나 폰트의 종류, 고정된 지면에서 차지하는 잉크의 면적, 글자 간의 간격과 같은 복잡성 요인들에 의해 영향을 받는다. 한글은 자음과 모음들이 조합되는 독특한 알파벳-음절 표기법을 사용하는 글자 체계를 가지고 있어 영어나 중국어를 중심으로 한 결과들에 비해, 자모구성의 글자 유형에 따라서도 복잡성이 달라질 수 있다는 특수성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 세 글자 쌍 패러다임을 이용하여 글자의 유형에 따라 한글 읽기 시각 폭의 크기가 영향을 받는지 살펴보았다. 그리고 여러 글자 유형의 시각 폭 중 읽기 능력의 개인차를 예측하는 글자 유형을 확인해보고자 시각 폭과 읽기 폭, 읽기 유창성, 읽기 이해와의 상관도 살펴보았다. 실험결과, 글자 유형이 복잡해질수록 글자 재인 정확률이 감소하고 시각 폭이 줄어드는 경향이 관찰되었으나 자음+모음+자음의 형태가 자음+모음 형태보다 글자 재인율이 높고 시각 폭도 큰 것으로 나타나 자모조합의 복잡성에 따른 영향이 선형적이지 않고 다른 요인이 개입할 가능성이 관찰되었다. 자음만 제시한 조건과 CV조건의 글자 재인율은 읽기 이해와 정적 상관을 보여 향후 읽기 능력과 관련한 시각 폭 측정 시 사용할 수 있는 글자 유형으로 나타났다.

수학교육에서 시각화와 직관 (Visualization and Intuition in Mathematics Education)

  • Visualization have strong driving force that enables us to recognize abstract mathematics by direct and specific method in school mathematics. Specially, visual thinking helps in effective problem solution via intuition in mathematics education. So, this paper examines the meaning of visualization, the role of visualization in intuitive problem solving process and the methods for enhancement of intuition using visualization in mathematics education. Visualization is an useful tool for illuminating of intuition in mathematics problem solving. It means that visualization makes us understand easily mathematical concepts, principles and rules in students' cognitive structure. And it makes us experience revelation of anticipatory intuition which finds clues and strategy in problem solving. But, we must know that visualization can have side effect in mathematics learning. So, we have to search for the methods of teaching and learning which can increase students' comprehension about mathematics through visualization and minimize side aspect through visualization.

Using Minute Papers to Improve Lecture Demonstrations

  • Minute papers are brief papers written at the end of a lecture in response to one or two questions posed by the instructor. The answers are discussed briefly at the beginning of the next lecture. We used minute papers to follow students' understanding and response to lecture demonstrations in an introductory general chemistry course. An analysis of these minute papers suggest that the following characteristics are important, when using demonstrations as teaching aids. 1) The purpose of a demonstration should be stated as explicitly as possible. 2) Instructors should be explicit about what is happening and what students should be looking for. 3) Demonstrations should be kept as simple as possible, perhaps illustrating one concept. Finally, we note that students believe that the visual component of demonstrations enhances their comprehension of chemistry concepts.

  • The research is an objective which prevents a construction noise by developing prediction program on utility, helps comprehension of construction noise by case study. The program developed with Visual Basic of the Excel Logic. The standard noise is a data with report of the construction machine (National Institute of Environmental Research), construction noise of sound pressure level applied the distance decrease of the point source. The decrease effect of the barrier noise wall used the data of 5, 10, 15, 20dB where the diffraction is reflected. used a program, case study is suggested Prevention method to prevent noise of construction site.
