The monitoring system was developed in the object-oriented programming (OOP) environment. Microsoft Visual Basic 6,0 for the program language, Microsoft Access, and Excel program were used to develop the system. The monitoring system was composed of data input, database, and data analysis system, Once data were put into data input system, it automatically transferred to database, and it eventually produced the results of statistical analysis with one step procedure. This study was integrated with facilities and visitor monitoring system to identify the visitor impact at the recreational forests. In addition, this monitoring system would provide necessary and useful background information for management on recreational use of natural resources in a practical manner.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the national park visitor counting system using the ubiquitous sensor network. This system is composed of a sensor node, sink node, gateways, CDMA module, server, and clients. The results of the study were: 1) stable data transmission distance was possible within 100 meters between sensor nodes, 2) the developed counting sensor system showed a network communication stability level of 88.3 percent in 1.2m wide trails. When installed in concentrate use areas or forks of national parks, the visitor counting system will not only contribute to provide reliable visitor counting, but also to improve the quality of national park visitor service, to manage park facilities and natural resources more efficiently, to achieve an information oriented national park system.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of visitors' sense of place on regeneration space using idle industrial facilities on visitors' satisfaction and length of stay. For this purpose, this study selected Mullae Art Village in Seoul as a study site and conducted a questionnaire survey focused on visitors. The results of an exploratory factor analysis (EFA), reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis show that among the sense of place factors of Mullae Art Village 'Attractiveness' and 'Meaningfulness' have a positive influence on visitor satisfaction and length of stay. 'Attractiveness' was found to be the most influential factor. 'Historicity' was found to have no effects on visitor satisfaction and length of stay. In addition, visitor satisfaction has a positive influence on duration of stay. These results suggest that it is important to analyze the sense of place of idle industrial facilities. It will be a useful guide for urban space planners in revitalizing and establishing a marketing strategy for these spaces.
