Background: This study was aimed at surveying the health science students' interest, demand, and awareness of virtual reality (VR) devices for learning to accumulate data necessary to develop and implement a curriculum with VR devices. Methods: We investigated the perception of health science students regarding VR device application and utilization. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 25.0 (IBM SPSS Statistics). Frequency and descriptive analyses were performed for the perception level of VR device use for university education. An independent twosamples t-test was performed to statistically analyze the perception level according to the VR device experience. A p-value < 0.05 was set to indicate statistical significance. Results: To the question "Do you wish to use VR devices for educational purposes?," 73% of the participants answered "yes." To the question "Do you think VR is necessary for the course curriculum?," over 65% answered "yes." Conclusion: In this study, health science students reported a great need for VR devices for education. VR-based classroom curriculum is expected to improve students' concentration, interest, and motivation.
The Ministry of Education announced plans to introduce SW education to elementary and secondary schools in the 2015 curriculum. However, if we examine major foreign countries where SW education strongly implemented it is found that they stress not only coding education but also real life SW education. Especially they emphasized convergence with other different fields. Therefore, it can be concluded SW education in Korea should be differentiated based on levels of students. For the common basic curriculum, it is needed basic concepts and thinking skills of SW development, but for the enriched curriculum, it should be emphasized SW development education that can be applied to real life experiences and other difference fields as well. Therefore, it is necessary to plan SW intensive education to develop programs for the enriched program. In this study, I explored how virtual reality programming education can be applied to the level of elementary and secondary school students as an enrichment program.

As the software education which utilizes the virtual reality in the education field becomes more interested in the teachers and the students, researches are being conducted for the education of virtual reality contents production. The purpose of this study is to analyze the curriculum, outcomes, and evaluation results of virtual reality contents production for educational students, elementary school students, and middle school students. As a result of analysis on each group, there was no difference in adaptability to specific tools, differences in ability of object production in production, and self-confidence and interest in production and utilization of virtual reality in learning attitude.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a virtual reality simulation and a blended simulation on nursing care for children with asthma through an evaluation of critical thinking, problem-solving processes, and clinical performance in both education groups before and after the educational intervention. Methods: The participants were 48 nursing students. The experimental group (n=22) received a blended simulation, combining a virtual reality simulation and a high-fidelity simulation, while the control group (n=26) received only a virtual reality simulation. Data were collected from February 25 to 28, 2019 and analyzed using SPSS version 25 for Windows. Results: The pretest and posttest results of each group showed statistically significant improvements in critical thinking, problem-solving processes, and clinical performance. In a comparison of the results of the two education groups, the only statistically significant difference was found for critical thinking. Conclusion: Simulation-based education in child nursing has continued to involve high-fidelity simulations that are currently run in many programs. However, incorporating a new type of blended simulation, combining a virtual reality simulation and a high-fidelity simulation, into the nursing curriculum may contribute to the further development of nursing education.

This study examined the reality of military counseling education applied by the Army and studied the effects of military counseling training using virtual reality. First, we explored the cases of virtual reality application related to counseling, reviewed the virtual reality technology that can be benchmarked in the Army military counseling education, and examined the applicable technology. We classified the education method and the curriculum for the students and tested the difference using the analysis of variance, which is a statistical analysis method, through the satisfaction measurement of the current education. In addition, after having students experience virtual reality contents, the effects of practical training applied with virtual reality technology were derived and the difference in actual training was compared and analyzed through T-test. Then, the reliability of the study was improved by analyzing the effects of practical training using virtual reality by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process for the expert group who can consider the overall situation. Based on the results of the analysis, the development plan of military counseling training combined with virtual reality technology and the supplements of current military counseling education were presented as policy implications.

Education using Virtual Reality(VR) has attracted a great deal of attention in recent years because it does not require expensive equipments and a large space in the field, and it enables effective education at a relatively low cost. The basic medical science curriculum(functional anatomy) is very important in the health sciences, but the students have many difficulties in understanding. The purpose of this study is to apply VR to basic medical science curriculum and to understand students' perception. The students were asked to directly experience the anatomy virtual reality program(3D Organon®) and to investigate the differences from other learning materials, such as understanding, concentration and interest. Overall, learning using VR showed high significance than other learning materials such as textbooks, models, and 3D application. Therefore, this study suggests the use of virtual reality in medical subjects such as anatomy classes.

To maximize educational effect with new educational methods in the 4th Industrial Revolution era, immersive education has become the core type of education and virtual reality (VR) is at the center of realistic content. VR education is increasing in school, but researches on VR production education are insufficient. Our study has proposed a school-level curriculum for students to create their own VR content. The output and the survey results were analyzed to find out the learner characteristics of elementary school students, middle school students, and pre-service teachers at each school level. As a result, there were some noticeable differences in concentration, content subject, and production time according to school level. Primary school students focused on their subjects, middle school students related to learning, and pre-service teachers put top priority on contents useful for primary education.

Virtual reality is actively applied in the fields of games, entertainment, communication, sports, and architecture. In particular, many virtual reality-based education systems are being developed in the field of education, creating efficient learning effects. In addition, virtual reality-based education is used in areas such as maintenance, fighter control, medical care, and firefighting as it can maximize the educational effect through the mastery process of the function itself through the curriculum as well as indirect experiences of dangerous situations that are difficult to experience. However, due to technical limitations, lack of contents, and lack of theoretical research, the level of application of military education and training is still insufficient. This paper aim to contribute to the development of a virtual reality-based education system as a military training system by developing a high-quality drop training system applicable to military group descent training, studying key technologies and implementation methods necessary for development.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of nursing students' experiences in virtual simulation practice. Methods: The participants were six nursing students who have experience in a virtual simulation. Data were collected from August to September 2019 through a focus group interview. Giorgi's phenomenological method was used for analysis. Results: The study results revealed 3 constituents and 6 sub-constituents that are essential for nursing student's experiences in a virtual simulation. The three constituents were: "Chaos in the virtual reality", "The process of adjusting to chaos", and "Becoming an independent nurse in a safe virtual reality". Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions are made. Results suggest the development of virtual simulations in Korean, the use of simulations as a group activity first, and the use of simulation between lecture and practice or in the regular curriculum. The results of the study can be used as primary data for providing virtual simulation in nursing education.
Purpose: This study started with the question of how to use Virtual Reality (VR) contents as a part of the non-face-to-face education tool that has recently attracted attention. Methods: In this paper, the use of VR contents as an educational tool is explained as a process of 'new media access dimension'. The question was explored on why Virtual Reality (or Augmented Reality) contents are not used as educational tools in the educational field. Results: As a result, the lack of 'material access' such as devices and infrastructure affects 'motivational access' approach stage, which is the previous stage. Again, it has a negative effect on literacy, which is 'skill access' approach stage. As it was found that it was not circulating to the level of "motive-material-skill-usage", it was discussed that it was taking a different step from the past adoption process of ICT and smart media. Conclusion: Based on this, it is believed that immersive content will contribute to arousing interest that can be applied and spread in the educational field, and it is also thought that it will be possible to derive academic interest in the educational effect according to the characteristics of immersive content such as VR.
