A Study on the Comparision over an Educational Effectiveness with the Orienting Methods by University Libraries -with an Emphasis on Lecture, Slide-Tape and Video-Tape- (대학도서관 오리엔테이션 프로그램의 교육적 효율성 비교에 관한 연구 -강의, 슬라이드-테이프 및 비데오-테이프를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this paper is to in vestigate a relative effectiveness of instruction among such three orienting methods as lecture, slide-tape and video-tape which the library of Duk Sung Women's University has applied for orienting the freshmen for the last three years. This research also carried out a sample survey by distributing uniform questinnaire to the three different groups of the students. Each group was oriented with lecture, slide-tape and Video-tape respectively. Finally, the empirical findings of this research are as follows: 1. All three orienting methods were useful for students to improve knowledge as to how to use the library, 2. There were a wide difference in effectiveness among three instructional methods, obviously, the slide-tape method was more effective in the orientation than the lecture method and, furthermore, the video-tape was more effective than the slide-tape one, Therefore, it seem safe to conclude that the media utilization effective in orientation program should be encouraged by the university libraries of Korea.

  • The purpose of this second one of the two consecutive papers, which carried out for the research, is to evaluate their relative effectiveness regarding instruction with such three presentation methods as video/print+ lecture, print/video, print+lecture/video, with which the library of Duk Sung Women's University applied already for the orientation of the freshmen in 1988. In sum, the major research findings are as follows : First, as the more numerous media were applied for the orientation, the instruction were more effective. Second, it is very interesting to find out that there were wide differences in effectiveness among the three presentation methods applied for the student. Especially, the print+ lecture/video method was more effective in the instruction than the print/video method. Surprisingly, the video/print + lecture method was much more effective than the print+ lecture/video method. With the research findings of this two consecutive papers into consideration, it seems safe to say that the video-tape method was most effective among such three orienting methods as lecture, slide-tape, and video tape, and the video/print+lecture method was most effective among such three presentation methods as video/print+lecture, print/video, and print+lecture/video.

A study on the Premarital Sexual Education Program(PSEP) (결혼준비자를 위한 성교육 프로그램 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to develope Premarial Sexual Education Program. This program was based on survey(466 data used) for the need of PSEP. The result were as followings: 1. The need of sex education was higher(92.9%) and the participation of this PSEP was 80.4%, so this program was systemic structure. 2. Their premarital sexual values were more permissive(52.2%) than the past. But women thought tha female would be vergin(27.1%) their inter course experience rate was 33.4% and Age of experience was under 23 year olds. 3. The unmarried persns wanted that PSEP was consisted of 10 sub themes : (1) pregnancy and child-birth(mean=4.4/5) (2) contraception and family planning(m=4.3) (3) sexual morality and sexual value(m=4.2) (4) sexual healthy family (m=4.1) (5) sexual open communication(m=4.1) (6) venereal disease and coping stratiges(m=4.0) (7) sex role learning(m=3.9) (8) sexual physiology(m=3.8) (9) premarital sex and unwed mother(m=3.7) (10) adultery and society(m=3.6) 4. They want that group meeting would be every Wensday or Friday evening and the required time is two hours. The instruction methods are expected lecture, discussion or seminar and viewing video tapes. 5. So PSEP was consist of 10 sub-themes: (1) orientation and self-disclosure(test, lecture, game) (2) sexual physiology(video tape, lecture) (3) pregnancy and child birth(lecture, video tape) (4) contraceptive methods and family planning(lecture, video tape, test, discussion) (5) sex role learning(test, lecture, role-play) (6) venereal disease and coping stratiges(lecture, video tape) (7) premarital sex and incest(cause study, lecture) (8) sex morality and sex value(seminars, lecture) (9) sexual open communication(seminars) (10) sexual healthy family(lecture, seminars)

Monitoring of Degradation Process of Commercial ME Tapes under High Humidity Environment by AC Impedance Techniques

  • The corrosion resistance of several kind of ME (Metal Evaporated) tape has been investigated both in mild sulfuric acid solution and NaCl solution by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It was found that the degradation of ME tapes was accelerated with increasing the concentration of sulfuric acid. There was no significant change in corrosion resistance when the concentration of NaCl was under 3.5 wt%. However, the impedance value decreased when the concentration of NaCl was up to 10 wt%. The degradation of backside of ME tapes was also investigated by AC impedance measurements. The results showed that the impedance behavior of backside plastic film changed with the concentration of sulfuric acid even at the beginning of immersion, implying the changing of the permeability for the backside of ME tapes. It was also found that the corrosion resistance of DVC (Digital Video Cassette) ME tape was better that that of Hi-8mm ME tapes in sulfuric acid solutions. Also, the backside of DVC ME tape showed better water resistance than that of Hi8 ME tapes.

  • 비디오 서버는 대량의 영상과 음성 데이터를 보호화해서 디지털 포맷으로 저장하고 원하는 즉시 비디오 데이터를 재생 및 전송할 수 있는 컴퓨터 기반 장비를 말한다. 기존 저장 매체인 VTR(Video Tape Recorder) 테이프(Tape)에 녹화되던 영상은 비디오 서버의 HDD(Hard Disk Drive)에 파일로 저장되고 있다. 이러한 형태로 기존 VTR 이 수행하던 녹화, 편집, 송출 등의 역할을 비디오 서버가 파일 기반 제작 시스템으로 대체하고 있다. 즉 테이프리스(Tapeless) 제작환경의 촬영 단계인 녹화부터 송출 단계의 마지막 재생까지 사용되는 장비가 HD 비디오 서버이다. 파일 기반의 IT(Information technology) 제작환경은 제작 프로세스를 효율화하여 생산성을 향상시키고 비용을 절감하며 콘텐츠 재사용을 통한 미디어가치를 높인다. 이러한 장점들 때문에 비디오 서버 사용은 날로 증가되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 비디오 서버 관련 기술에 대해 알아보고 자체 개발한 경험을 바탕으로 HD 비디오 서버 구현 기술을 소개하고자 한다.

Effect of Humorous Video Tape on Depression and Stress Response in Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis (비디오 유머중재가 혈액투석 중인 환자의 우울과 스트레스반응에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the effect of humorous video on the depression and stress responses in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Methods: The quasi-experimental study was designed with a nonequivalent control group pre-post test. Research participants were assigned to a treatment group (n=23) and a control group (n=21). Treatment was watching humorous video tapes 30 min each time, three times a week. The depression level and state anxiety level were assessed using a questionnaire. Cortisol was measured by a blood test. The data were analyzed using $x^2$-test, and t-test. Results: Depression and anxiety were decreased significantly in the treatment group. Conclusions: Humorous video tape could be a usefull tool at home and clinical setting as a nursing intervention to decrease depression and anxiety among the patients on hemodialysis.

Liquid mist and videotape signal dropouts in gravure roll coating (Gravure롤 코팅방식에서 비산도료에 의한 비디오 신호의 dropouts)

  • Dropouts in magnetic media are a primary quality deficiency which is detrimental to magnetic signal quality and thus the major impediment to error-free recording, especially in high density digital recorders. The specific form of defects and causes found to be responsible for signal dropouts occurring in magnetic tape were studied. Dropout occurred when the RF signal falls to low level due to the various types of surface defects. However, the fall in the level of the RF signal in gravure roll coated tapes was most often caused by foreign particles adhering to the magnetic tape. It was also shown from the present study that scattered particles trapped under the tape surface or put on the top can lift it as it crosses the head, creating a spherical tent shaped defect and causing a temporary signal drop. Dropout producing substances were identified through optical and microchemical analyses. The results were correlated with measured electrical signal losses combined with analytical microscopy to clarify source identification of defects.

Basic Study for Effective Sex Education of Home Economics in Middle School Curriculum (중학교 가정교과 과정 중 효과적인 성교육을 위한 기초 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine middle school students' needs for sex education as a basic study for effective sexuality education of Home Economics in middle school curriculum. 305 middle school students from two schools in Chung-ju were participated in this study. The results of this study are; (1) sexual intercourse was the highest checked item that the students want to know; however, prevention of sexual violence and contraception were the lowest responses; (2) showing video tape and sex education professional lecture methods were the most effective ways to teach sex education that the students believed; (3) the curiosity regarding sex that the students did not satisfied with current school sex education have met by watching sexual video tape or TV; and (4) the students believed that sex education should be started in the elementary school curriculum and they wanted to learn with sex education professional.
