신경망을 이용한 차선과 장애물 인식에 관한 연구 (Lane and Obstacle Recognition Using Artificial Neural Network)

  • In this paper, an algorithm is presented to recognize lane and obstacles based on highway road image. The road images obtained by a video camera undergoes a pre-processing that includes filtering, edge detection, and identification of lanes. After this pre-processing, a part of image is grouped into 27 sub-windows and fed into a three-layer feed-forward neural network. The neural network is trained to indicate the road direction and the presence of absence of an obstacle. The proposed algorithm has been tested with the images different from the training images, and demonstrated its efficacy for recognizing lane and obstacles. Based on the test results, it can be said that the algorithm successfully combines the traditional image processing and the neural network principles towards a simpler and more efficient driver warning of assistance system

  • Digital watermarking is the techinque which embeds the invisible signal into multimedia data such as audio, video, images, for copyright protection, including owner identification and copy control information. This paper proposes a new watermark embedding and extraction technique by extending the direct sequence spread spectrum technique. The proposed technique approximates the frequency component of pixels in spatial domain by using Laplacian mask and adaptively embeds the watermark considering the HVS to reduce the degradation of Image. In watermark extraction process, the proposed technique strengthens the high frequency components of image and extracts the watermark by demodulation. All this processes are performed in spatial domain to reduce the processing time.

  • Digital watermarking is the technique which embeds the invisible signal into multimedia data such as audio, video, images, for copyright protection, including owner identification and copy control information. In this paper, a new watermark detection algorithm by local masking cross covariance between watermarked signal and pseudo noise signal is proposed. The proposed algorithm enhances the detection probability for embedding information. Since reducing detection errors for the weak embedding signals, the algorithm improves the image quality and robusts against illegal attack to delete the embedding information and data compression applications such as JPEG and MPEGs.

The Effect of Audio and Visual Cues on Korean and Japanese EFL Learners' Perception of English Liquids

  • This paper investigated the effect of audio and visual cues on Korean and Japanese EFL learners' perception of the lateral/retroflex contrast in English. In a perception experiment, the two English consonants /l/ and /r/ were embedded in initial and medial position in nonsense words in the context of the vowels /i, a, u/. Singletons and clusters were included in the speech material. Audio and video recordings were made using a total of 108 items. The items were presented to Korean and Japanese learners of English in three conditions: audio-alone (A), visual-alone (V) and audio-visual presentation (AV). The results showed that there was no evidence of AV benefit for the perception of the /l/-/r/ contrast for either Korean or Japanese learners of English. Korean listeners showed much better identification rates of the /l/-/r/ contrast than Japanese listeners when presented in audio or audio-visual conditions.

  • 본 논문에서는 사회재난 안전사고 중 수상 안전사고를 예방 및 사고 발생시 즉각 대응을 위한 센서 융복합 상황인지 기술을 개발하였다. 실제 현장에서의 위험상황을 전문가 컨설팅을 통하여 정의하였으며 이를 영상 분석을 이용한 객체의 검출 및 객체의 추적을 통한 위험상황 검출을 개발하였다. 기존 패턴인식 기술에 비하여 우수한 성능을 보이는 인공지능 기반 딥러닝 기술을 적용하였으며 딥러닝 기술을 적용하기 위하여는 많은 수의 데이터베이스 확보가 필수적이고 이를 위하여 기존 데이터베이스의 확보 및 현장에서의 실제 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 작업을 통하여 충분한 데이터베이스를 확보하였다. 객체 검출은 최적의 속도를 확보하기 위하여 SSD 구조를 이용하였으며 객체 추적을 위해서는 Re-identification 기법을 적용하여 Tied convolution 구조를 이용하였다.

Gravure롤 코팅방식에서 비산도료에 의한 비디오 신호의 dropouts (Liquid mist and videotape signal dropouts in gravure roll coating)

  • Dropouts in magnetic media are a primary quality deficiency which is detrimental to magnetic signal quality and thus the major impediment to error-free recording, especially in high density digital recorders. The specific form of defects and causes found to be responsible for signal dropouts occurring in magnetic tape were studied. Dropout occurred when the RF signal falls to low level due to the various types of surface defects. However, the fall in the level of the RF signal in gravure roll coated tapes was most often caused by foreign particles adhering to the magnetic tape. It was also shown from the present study that scattered particles trapped under the tape surface or put on the top can lift it as it crosses the head, creating a spherical tent shaped defect and causing a temporary signal drop. Dropout producing substances were identified through optical and microchemical analyses. The results were correlated with measured electrical signal losses combined with analytical microscopy to clarify source identification of defects.

Ultrahigh Vacuum Study for the Model Systems of Ziegler-Natta Catalyst

  • The surface structure of the adsorption site for the identification of active sites involved in the Ziegler-Natta catalyst was studied by surface science techniques. As an example of a real catalyst, TiCl3 single crystals were prepared in a gradient furnace designed for this study and characterized by Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES) and Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED) under ultrahigh vacuum condition. The chlorine covered Ti (0001) surface was employed as a model catalyst for the study of Ziegler-Natta catalyst. The diffuse LEED (DLEED) technique for the surface structural determination was applied to this disordered chlorine adsorbed on Ti (0001) surface. The diffuse scattering intensities were measured by a TV-computer method using a low light level video camera. From an analysis of two catalyst systems, the informations for the surface structure of the model catalyst surfaces were derived.

  • 비디오에서 우선 장면 전환 검출을 통해 생성된 키 프레임을 대상으로 프로젝션을 통하여 문자 인식을 수행하도록 한다. 텍스트의 자간 분리를 수직 프로젝션에 의해 분리 한다. 자소는 초성, 중성, 종성으로 분리하고 6가지 유형으로 분리한다. 자소 패턴 분리는 수평 프로젝션을 통하여 6가지 유형에 맞도록 분리한다. 자소는 수평, 수직, 사선, 역사선 방향으로 분리한다. 자소의 인식은 4-방향 프로젝션과 위치정보를 이용하여 인식하도록 한다.

Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery Segmentectomy

  • Although lobectomy remains the gold-standard surgical treatment for non-small-cell lung cancer, the frequency of thoracoscopic segmentectomy is increasing. Multiple factors must be considered in the choice of the procedure, ranging from adequate surgical planning or simulation, tumor localization, and identification of the intersegmental plane to severing the intersegmental plane to achieve an oncologically safe surgical margin with no or minimal manual palpation and different landmarks. In this article, we present an overview of methods for each procedural step of thoracoscopic segmentectomy, from preoperative planning to division of the intersegmental plane.

Forest Fire Detection and Identification Using Image Processing and SVM

  • Accurate forest fires detection algorithms remain a challenging issue, because, some of the objects have the same features with fire, which may result in high false alarms rate. This paper presents a new video-based, image processing forest fires detection method, which consists of four stages. First, a background-subtraction algorithm is applied to detect moving regions. Secondly, candidate fire regions are determined using CIE $L{\ast}a{\ast}b{\ast}$ color space. Thirdly, special wavelet analysis is used to differentiate between actual fire and fire-like objects, because candidate regions may contain moving fire-like objects. Finally, support vector machine is used to classify the region of interest to either real fire or non-fire. The final experimental results verify that the proposed method effectively identifies the forest fires.
