랜덤진동환경에서 솔더접합부의 인쇄회로기판내 위치에 따른 내구수명 변화 연구 (Location-dependent Reliability of Solder Interconnection on Printed Circuit Board in Random Vibration Environment)

  • 인쇄회로기판 위에 9개의 PBGA (Plastic Ball Grid Array) 패키지를 SnPb 솔더로 실장하여 진동시편을 제작하고 랜덤진동시험을 수행하였다. 진동에 대한 각 패키지 솔더의 내구수명을 분석한 결과, 패키지의 인쇄회로기판 배치 위치에 따라 솔더의 내구수명이 결정됨을 보였다. 이 위치에 따른 내구수명 의존성을 규명하기 위하여 유한요소모델을 작성하고, 모델의 모든 요소에 대해서 응력응답함수로부터 정의되는 등가응력을 분석하였다. 분석결과로부터 랜덤진동시험에서 패키지를 연결하는 솔더 중 코너에 위치한 솔더에서 최대 등가응력이 발생함을 보였다. 마지막으로, 각 패키지별 코너 솔더의 최대 등가응력값을 파괴등가응력으로 정의하고 파괴등가응력과 각 패키지의 내구수명간에 직접적인 연관관계가 있음을 제시하였다.

  • In order to meet the growing demands for higher storage density as well as lower noise level, the spindles in hard disk drives are to be supported by hydrodynamic bearings in place of conventional ball-type ones. However, the existing models are inappropriate to apply to accurate prediction of vibration characteristics because the HDD spindle tends to take quite a complex shape to secure its performance and cost-effectiveness. In this context, this paper treats analysis of free and forced vibrations of such-designed HDD spindles based on more sophisticated models and validations via experiments. Remarkably, to this end all the components in the system are modeled as elastic adopting the finite element method.

  • Vibration analysis of Fine-pitch Ball Grid Array (FBGA) packages mounted on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) subjected to harmonic excitation is performed by using finite element method (FEM). A finite element model of a memory module is composed of three main parts, packages, simplified solder balls and bare PCB. At first, natural frequencies and mode shapes of the developed model were confirmed experimentally. Secondly, the harmonic excitation experiment for the module was carried out at the first natural frequency of the memory module, and it was verified with the simulation by using mode superposition method at a constant acceleration.

복잡한 형상의 강체 스핀들과 유연축을 고려한 HDD 디스크-스핀들 계의 고유진동 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis of Vibration of HDD Disk-Spindle System with Rigid Complex Spindle and Flexible Shaft)

  • Equations of motion are derived and solved using the finite element method substructure synthesis for the disk-spindle system with rigid spindle and flexible shaft. The disk is modeled as a flexible spinning disk by Kirchhoff plate theory and von Karman nonlinear strain. The spindle supporting the flexible disk is modeled as a rigid body to consider its complex geometry. The stationary shaft supporting the rotating disk-spindle-bearing system is modeled by Euler beam, and the ball bearings are modeled as the stiffness matrix with 5 degrees of freedom. Developed theory is applied to analyze the vibration characteristics of a 3.5" HDD and a 2.5" HDD, respectively, and modal tests are performed to verify the simulation results. This paper shows that the developed theory can be effectively applied to the rotating disk-spindle system with the spindle of complex shape.

볼 베어링의 결함검출을 위한 Adaptive Line Enhancer의 적용 (Application of Adaptive Line Enhancer for Detection of Ball Bearing Defects)

  • The early detection of the bearing defects in rotating machinery is very important since the critical failure of bearing causes a machinery shutdown. However it is not easy to detect the vibration signal caused by the initial defects of bearing because of the high level of random noise. A signal processing technique, called the adaptive line enhancer(ALE) as one of adaptive filter, is used in this study. This technique is to eliminate random noise with little a prior knowledge of the noise and signal characteristics. Also we propose the optimal methods fir selecting the three main ALE parameters such as correlation length filter order and adaptation constant. Vibration signals f3r three abnormal bearings, including inner and outer raceways and ball defects, were acquired by Anderon(angular derivative of radius on) meter. The experimental results showed that ALE is very useful f3r detecting the bearing defective signals masked by random noise.

현가계 부쉬 이상소음 분식에 관한 연구 (The Study on noise Analysis of Bush on Suspension System)

  • It is known that the various noise sources which are engine, transmission, tire, intake system, etc exist at vehicle driving status. Specially noises which cannot be expected by a driver induce unpleasantness to all passengers. These noises are difficult to distinguish noise sources or specifications because of too many vehicle parts. Therefore in this paper, study on abnormal noise of bush on suspension system is performed by the measurement and analysis of the noises of bushings that are generated artificially. The measured noises are analyzed by two points-view of spectrum and sound quality. Finally, it is shown that the noise sources of bushings on the suspension system which are the pillow ball joint bush of a control arm and the rubber bush of a lower arm could be distinguished by the spectrum distribution and a index value based on tonality.

표준시험동 바닥충격음 측정위치에 대한 고찰 (Investigation of receiving position in the measurement method for floor impact sound in a testing building)

  • The measurement of floor impact sound have been standardized in KS 2810-1 and 2. The height of receiving microphones position is specified in the standard as 1.2m which is almost half height of apartment rooms as a listening position. In this study, receiving positions are investigated by measuring the distribution of sound pressure levels at 792 receiving microphone positions in the standard testing building. Standard impact sources, tapping machine and impact ball, are driven on the center position in the source room where is located at the above floor. It was found that the distribution of sound pressure levels in the receiving room indicates significant deviation at different frequencies there is more than 5dB drop at 63Hz but 2dB rise at 125Hz at a height of 1.2m when the impact ball is driven, in the other case of a generating tapping machine there is more than 2dB rise at 125Hz at a height of 1.2m due to room modes.

Annoyance 반응에 의한 중량충격음 평가척도 구성 (Establishing Evaluation Modifiers for the Annoyance Responses to Heavyweight Impact Noise)

  • The auditory experiments based on the subjective annoyance responses were undertaken for the establishment of the adverb modifiers of the heavy-weight impact noises. The standard heavy weight impact noise, impact ball noise and adult walking noise were recorded by dummy head at a newly-built apartment and were presented to the subjects by headphones. The levels of the three impact noises were varied from 30 to 60㏈(A) and the subjects matched one of the adverb modifiers to each level of the noise sources. As a result, seven scale modifiers were established and the intervals between the modifiers were found as equal. In addition, it was found that the lower annoyance noise limits for the heavyweight impact, impact ball and walking were 40-45㏈ (L$\sub$I, Fmax. AW), which is 6㏈ lower than in the previous study. The background noise level was as low as 21㏈(A) in the test booth, therefore, the testing conditions need to be concerned for evaluation of floor impact noise.
