  • Recently nano imprint lithography to fabricate photonic crystal on polymer is preferred because of its simplicity and short process time and ease of precise manufacturing. But, the technique requires the precise mold as an imprinting tool for good replication. These molds are made of the silicon, nickel and quartz. But this is not desirable due to complex fabrication process, high cost. So, we describe a simple, precise and low cost method of fabricating PDMS stamp to make the photonic crystals. In order to fabricate the PDMS mold, we make the original pattern with designed hole array by finding the optimal electron beam writing condition. And then, we have tried to fabricate PDMS mold by the replica molding with ultrasonic vibration and pressure system. We have used the cleaning process to solve the detaching problem on the interface. Using these methods, we acquired the PDMS mold for photonic crystals with characteristics of a good replication. And the accuracy of replication shows below 1% in 440nm at diameter and in 610nm at lattice constant by dimensional analysis by SEM and AFM.

  • This paper proposes a simple and effective method for determining the dynamic characteristics of revolution shells. This is a weighted residual method in which the collocation points are taken at the roots of orthogonal polynomial. In this paper the collocation method is employed to replace a partical differential eqations by a system of ordinary differential equations in time, and the resulting equations are solved by two different numerical methods of time integration : an implicit method and an explicit method. The proposed approach is formulated in some detail. The versatility and accuracy are illustrated through several numerical examples. The method appears to be relatively easy to set up and gives satisfactory results.

  • The research of applying reinforced retaining wall due to support the land pressure that given from train's load has been accomplished actively in domestic area. After the retaining wall has been installed, the collapse or partial destruction that generated by effect of train's vibration and repetitive load of train may be induced. Accordingly in the period of using this, the sufficient durability should be guaranteed and years of durability are one hundred and as these are longer than road structure's, the technique that introduced to wall and monitor the long-term strain is necessary. In this paper, the optical fibre is induced vertically to the reinforced retaining wall and after the subsistence of optical fibre is confirmed, the early strain that applied to optical fibre after insertion is monitored. Before and after the concrete placing, damage feasibility of optical fibre is measured by using OTDR(Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) and after concrete is cultivated, the early strain induced to optical fibre is measured by application of BOCDA (Brillouin Correlation Domain Analysis) system.

  • Human motion analysis is an important research subject in human-robot interaction (HRI). However, before analyzing the human motion, silhouette of human body should be extracted from sequential images obtained by CCD camera. The intelligent robot system requires more robust silhouette extraction method because it has internal vibration and low resolution. In this paper, we discuss the hybrid silhouette extraction method for detecting and tracking the human motion. The proposed method is to combine and optimize the temporal and spatial gradient information. Also, we propose some compensation methods so as not to miss silhouette information due to poor images. Finally, we have shown the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through some experiments.

  • This study describes the design and implementation of SHF band Upconverter Digital Satellite Communication. The SHF band Upconverter unit consists of PLDROand frequency converter. In frequency converter, microstripBPF and LPF designed through the pre EMsimulation are implemented to minimize the unwanted spurious in frequency converter. Through the pre-simulation analysis ofspace environment, the possibility of and minimized about the malfunction of equipment and we designed a reliable SHF band Upconverter through simulation for a TID according to the vibration generated during the launch and space radiation environment, and compared pre-simulation of main performance results to test results about main performances of SHF band Upconverter after production.

  • In this paper the liquid sloshing effects in vertical storage tanks under earthquake loadings are studied. The study focuses on the investigation of the effect of the flexibility of the tank wall on the hydrodynamic forces exerted on it. The tank structure is modelled using finite elements. The motion of the liquid is expressed by the Laplace equation. The equation of motion of the fluid shell system is formulated including the coupling effect between the shell motion and the sloshing motion. A procedure is developed to obtain the natural frequencies and the mode shapes of the sloshing motion as well as the shell vibration. Dynamic analyses have been carried out for several tanks with different dynamic characteristics utilizing the time history method as well as the response spectra method.

  • Reliability Prediction using MIL-HDBK-217F has some restrictions due to its one modeling basis. One of the restrictions is caused by selecting one operating environment of a system, which is chosen regardless of its detailed conditions, e.g., external impact and vibration. Especially, an equipment, which is installed on a mobile vehicle though its movement is quasi-static, is controversial to designate its environment as ground mobile($G_M$), rather than ground fixed($G_F$). In this paper, failure rates were compared, which are computed using several moving time rates to total operating time. RiAC-HDBK-217Plus was used as the basic calculation model. In addition, $G_F$ conditioned failure rate was evaluated by comparing with that under $G_M$ environment but fixed state.

  • Proton transfer reaction is one of the most fundamental processes in chemistry and life science. Excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) has been studied as a model system of the proton transfer, since it can be conveniently initiated by light. We report ESIPT reaction dynamic of 1-hydroxy-anthraquione (1-HAQ) in solution by highly time-resolved fluorescence. ESIPT time of 1-HAQ is determined to be $45{\pm}10$ fs directly from decay of the reactant fluorescence and rise of the product fluorescence. High time resolution allows observation of the coherent vibrational wave packet motion in the excited state of the reaction product tautomer. The coherently excited vibrational mode involves large displacement of the atoms, which shortens the distance between the proton donor and the acceptor. With the theoretical analysis, we propose that the ESIPT of 1-HAQ proceeds barrierlessly with assistance of the skeletal vibration, which in turn becomes excited coherently by the ESIPT reaction.

  • Actuator-induced disturbance is one of the crucial factors of spacecraft attitude pointing and stability in fine attitude control problems. The control moment gyros (CMGs) are known as very attractive actuators from the point of high power and low weight. In order to develop a CMG as an actuator for fine controls, CMG-induced disturbances should be analyzed. Therefore, this paper aims to develop an analytic model and predict the effect of disturbances of CMGs by assuming static and dynamic imbalances. The proposed model is induced by the Lagrangian method on the basis of the small signal assumption. In this research, mechanical system of the CMG is designed and the main components of CMG are producted.

  • In many industrial practices it is an important problem to discharge a high-pressure exhaust gas to the atmosphere without generating a loud noise and much vibration. This may be achieved by confining a shock system inside the exhaust duct with a double orifice. The objective of the current work is to develop a new treatment method for the high-pressure exhaust gases. A theoretical analysis was applied to one-dimensional, steady. viscous, compressible model flowfield, and an experiment was performed using a shock tunnel facility. The results showed that the total pressure drop increases with a decrease of the opening area of the upstream orifice, and the shock confinement to the duct is possible by decreasing the opening area of the downstream orifice.
