열차 운행 중인 기관사의 각성상태 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study Concerning Analysis of Arousal State of locomotive Engineering During Operating Train)

  • The study for the passenger's comfortableness of vehicles and the arousal of car drivers has been done widely. On the other hand, there are few studies for the locomotive engineers. Human error means that the mistakes made by human, recently it receives attention in the field of safety engineering and human engineering. Comparing the operating condition of train with car, because of the simplification of the visual stimulus, the arousal level on the train goes down easily. The arousal level down makes judgement down, the accident risk from human error is getting bigger. In this study, we measured bio-signals(ECG, EDA, PPG, respiration and EEG) from 6 locomotive engineers to evaluate their arousal state while they operated the train. Also we recorded the 3 axes acceleration signal showing the vibration state of train. Also, the existence of tunnels were simultaneously measured. At the station section where the train speed goes down, the size of vector's sum decreases because of reduced vibration. Beta component in EEG tends to increase at the entering point of each station and tunnel. It is due to the arousal reaction and tension growth. The mean SCR(skin conductance response) was more increased in neutral section. As the button control movement (body movement) increases in the neutral section, it is appeared that SCR increase. RR interval tends to gradually increase during train operation for 1 hour 40 minutes. However, It tends to sharply decrease at the stop station because strong concentration needed to stop train on the exact point. The engineer's arousal reaction can be checked through analysing the bio-signal change during train operation. Therefore, if this analysing result is adopted to the sleepiness prevention caution system, it will be useful for the safety train operation.

  • 본 연구에서는 방수제 구조물 및 하부지반에 대하여 1/100 축소모형의 비율을 갖는 토조를 제작, 설계지진 가속도 0.154g의 진동하중 적용시 진동대 모형실험을 통하여 구조물의 거동특성과 내진 안정성을 평가하였다. 실제 시공순서를 재현하여 완성 후 진동대 모형토조 하부에 설정된 지진하중을 발생시켜 지진에 의한 하부지반과 방수제 구조물의 상호작용을 분석하였다. 즉, 구조물의 수평 및 수직 변위, 구조물 하부지반에 작용하는 간극수압 변화, 하부지반 및 방수제 구조물의 최대가속도 변화량 측정 등 계측결과를 비교 분석하여 내진 안정성을 판단하였다.

Structural monitoring of movable bridge mechanical components for maintenance decision-making

  • This paper presents a unique study of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) for the maintenance decision making about a real life movable bridge. The mechanical components of movable bridges are maintained on a scheduled basis. However, it is desired to have a condition-based maintenance by taking advantage of SHM. The main objective is to track the operation of a gearbox and a rack-pinion/open gear assembly, which are critical parts of bascule type movable bridges. Maintenance needs that may lead to major damage to these components needs to be identified and diagnosed timely since an early detection of faults may help avoid unexpected bridge closures or costly repairs. The fault prediction of the gearbox and rack-pinion/open gear is carried out using two types of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs): 1) Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Networks (MLP-NNs) and 2) Fuzzy Neural Networks (FNNs). Monitoring data is collected during regular opening and closing of the bridge as well as during artificially induced reversible damage conditions. Several statistical parameters are extracted from the time-domain vibration signals as characteristic features to be fed to the ANNs for constructing the MLP-NNs and FNNs independently. The required training and testing sets are obtained by processing the acceleration data for both damaged and undamaged condition of the aforementioned mechanical components. The performances of the developed ANNs are first evaluated using unseen test sets. Second, the selected networks are used for long-term condition evaluation of the rack-pinion/open gear of the movable bridge. It is shown that the vibration monitoring data with selected statistical parameters and particular network architectures give successful results to predict the undamaged and damaged condition of the bridge. It is also observed that the MLP-NNs performed better than the FNNs in the presented case. The successful results indicate that ANNs are promising tools for maintenance monitoring of movable bridge components and it is also shown that the ANN results can be employed in simple approach for day-to-day operation and maintenance of movable bridges.

진동시험을 통한 강판콘크리트(SC) 전단벽의 저응력수준에서의 구조 감쇠비 규명 (Structural Damping Ratio of Steel Plate Concrete(SC) Shear Wall at the Low Stress Level Identified by Vibration Test)

  • SC (steel plate concrete)구조는 새로운 구조형식으로서 SC구조물의 내진설계에 적용할 수 있는 감쇠비의 규명이 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 실험적 방법을 통해 SC구조의 감쇠비를 분석하였다. 연구를 위하여 SC 전단벽 시편을 제작하고, 대형 진동대를 이용하여 진동시험을 수행하였다. 시험에서 계측한 가속도응답신호는 전달함수로 변환한 후 동적실험모드분석기법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 구조물의 감쇠비는 입력운동의 수준에 따라 달라질 수 있으며, 이 연구의 실험에서 적용한 입력운동의 수준은 시편의 항복강도의 절반보다 낮은 수준으로서 여기서 분석된 구조감쇠비는 약 4%정도이다. 이 연구결과를 고려하여 SC구조물의 운전기준지진에 대한 내진설계에는 4% 감쇠비를 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

매개변수연구를 통한 진동타입말뚝 해석기법 평가 (Evaluation of Analysis Technique for Piles Driven by Vibration through Parametric Study)

  • 진동해머에 의해 시공되는 말뚝의 해석기법을 개발하고 매개변수연구를 수행하여 개발된 해석기법의 신뢰성을 평가해보았다. 편심모멘트와 진동수에 따른 매개변수해석을 통해 구한 가속도를 비교분석해 본 결과 최대가속도의 크기는 대략적으로 편심모멘트에 비례하였으며 진동수의 제곱에 비례하였다. 또한 변위진폭은 편심모멘트에 비례하는 결과를 나타내었고 진동수에는 거의 영향을 받지 않았는데 이러한 경향은 공운전시의 거동특성과 유사하다. 매개변수해석을 통해 구한 동적 하중전이곡선을 비교해 볼 때 편심모멘트와 진동수의 크기에 관계없이 최대 동적단위선단저항력의 크기는 동일하였으며 최대 동적단위주면마찰력의 크기는 편심모멘트에 영향을 받으나 진동수와는 무관하였다. 매개변수해석결과를 종합적으로 비교분석해 볼 때 개발된 해석기법은 합리적인 해석결과를 보인다고 볼 수 있다.

한국형 고속전철의 주행진동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Characteristics on the Test Line for Korean High Speed Train)

  • Korean High Speed Train(KHST) has been tested on the high speed test line in Osung site of Korea High Speed Rail Construction Authority (KHRC). since it was developed as G7 Project Plan In 2002. This paper introduces the dynamic test devices in KHST and shows the comparison between the results of test and theoretical computing results which derive from the new model for KHST dynamic behavior. Previous computer simulation model for KHST was developed to review wether the vehicle system was satisfied with the dynamic performance requirements during the design procedure. But It should be applied the results of the parts test for suspension elements in order to compare between the results of computation and real test. Using VAMPIRE Program made by AEA Technology in UK. the new model also was modified. This paper shows that the static wheel loads calculated from new model is similar to test results. For test on high speed line, we prepared the test devices for evaluating the dynamic performances. which was consisted of the accelerometers( based on Kisler Co.) and the data aquisition systems (based on National instrument Co.), and test program coded by LabView 6i program. These lest devices and programs are flexible to extension the channels for adding sensors and connect to the ethernet network. The acceleration of car bodies, bogie frames and axle boxes were compared between the results of computation and test at 150km/. This paper shows that the results of test were high in high frequency band range but similar frequency band range. It might be considered that these differences were caused by the test which did not performed at constant speed for comparison analysis. Also. It will be able to understand the differences and make better results through a lot of tests planed in future.

  • Characteristics of a wireless sensor powered by the IDE (interdigitated electrode) embedded piezoelectric cantilever generator were analyzed in order to evaluate its potential for use in wireless sensor applications. The IDE embedded piezoelectric cantilever was designed and fabricated to have a self-resonance frequency of 126 Hz and acceleration of 1.57 G, respectively, for the mechanical resonance with a practical conveyor system in a thermal-power plant. It produced maximum output power of 2.81 mW under the resistive load of $160{\Omega}$ at 126 Hz. The wireless sensor module is electrically connected to a rectifier capacitor with capacity of 0.68 farad and 3.8 V for power supply by the piezoelectric cantilever generator. The unloaded capacitor could be charged as a rate of approximately $365{\mu}V/s$ while the capacitor exhibited that of 0.997 mV/min. during communication under low duty cycle of 0.2%. Therefore, it is considered that the fabricated IDE embedded piezoelectric cantilever generator can be used for wireless sensor applications.

철도터널 진동 모니터링을 위한 광섬유 가속도계 개발 (Development of FBG Accelerometer for Railway Tunnel Vibration)

  • 터널의 안전관리를 위해서는 효과적이고 지속적인 계측이 필요하다. 현재 적용되고 있는 대부분의 계측센서로는 터널의 국부적인 상태만을 파악할 수 있으므로 전체 터널의 안전상태를 파악하기 위해서는 다수의 설치가 필요하다. 철도터널의 경우 일정한 조건의 열차운행이 정기적으로 이루어지므로 터널구조물에 발생하는 진동을 지속적으로 관측하여 분석하면 상대적으로 넓은 범위의 영역에 대하여 터널 손상을 효과적으로 예측할 수 있다. 한편 철도터널 내에는 고전압으로 인한 전자기장의 간섭이 있으므로, 이를 배제할 수 있는 계측센서의 적용이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 광섬유격자센서를 이용한 가속도계를 개발하였다. 기존 터널의 진동계측 결과를 검토하여 철도터널 진동 계측에 적합한 가속도계의 사양을 결정하였다. 민감도와 측정범위의 향상을 위하여 새로운 구조를 적용한 가속도계를 개발하였으며 실내시험을 통해 그 성능을 검증하였다. 개발된 광섬유 가속도계를 적용하여 고속철도 터널의 상시 진동모니터링 시스템을 구축한 사례를 소개하였으며, 열차운행에 의하여 발생하는 진동 측정 결과를 통해 개발된 가속도계의 유효성을 제시하였다.

  • The train transportation has a lot of advantages-energy efficiency is high, it is eco-friendly, safety is better than normal roads and it is possible for people to arrive on time. In these days, the valuation of ride comfort, which is only limited to road transportation, is newly recognized in order to having competitiveness from other transportation. Especially, in the development of the Korean high-speed railroad business, the ride comfort enhancement of train is very important problem to be solved. Currently, there are international standards of ride comfort such as UIC13, ISO2631. In Korea case, although it has own standard like KS R9216, it mainly depends on the physical parameter such as vibration and noise. So recently, in the valuation of ride comfort, the movements of living parameter technique introduction are increasing on the base of Japan and many developed countries of Europe techniques. Presently, the method of train ride comfort is mainly based of vibration, that is, mechanical parameter adding selection of variable acceleration and noise. This paper would like to show biological parameter; heart rate and blood pressure variation. This method is more direct, based on human body response, than mechanical parameter method. In this experiment, the variability of heart rate and blood pressure of passengers according to tilting angle change of Train, the Korean tilting train, we are supposed to know that the extent of tilting on the simulation has influence on variability of heart rate and blood pressure, which are living parameter of heart's blood.

Vibration test and verification of Multi-Anode-Photo-Multiplier-Tube's survivability with X-Ray Coded Mask Gamma Ray Burst Alert Trigger mechanical system in space launch environment

  • UFFO Burst Alert & Trigger telescope (UBAT) is one of major instruments of UFFO-Pathfinder. The UBAT aims at 10 arcmin resolution localization of Gamma Ray Bursts with X-ray coded mask technique. It has $400mm{\times}400mm$ coded mask aperture, hopper, shielding and detector module with effective area of $191cm^2$. The detector module consists of an assembly of 36 64-ch MAPMTs and $25mm{\times}25mm$ pixellated YSO crystal array, and associated analog and digital electronics of about 2500 channels. We performed a vibration test using a dummy MAPMT with the detector module structure to measure the indused stress applied onto the MAPMT. We designed a sub-structure on the detector module to avoid the resonance that would otherwise deforms the detector module structure. A finite element analysis confirms the reduction of the load acceleration down to 12g. The experimental results are to be reported. Consequently, it proves that the MAPMT arrays of the flight UBAT detector module structure would survive in the space launch environment.
