Hardness and internal stress are very important in nickel electroforming. Nickel sulfamate bath has been widely used in electroforming because of its low internal stress and moderate hardness. Nickel sulfamate bath without chloride was chosen to investigated the effect of plating variable such as temperature, PH, current density and sodium naphthalene trisulfonate as addition agent on the hardness and internal stress. It was found that hardness increased with increasing temperature and decreasing current density and ranged from 150∼310 DPH. The hardness was highest at $55^{\circ}C$ and 10∼40 mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The internal stress increased with increasing current density and decreasing temperature. It was minimum at PH 3.0∼3.8. Low internal stress within $\pm$1,500 psi was obtained at both $50^{\circ}C$ and $55^{\circ}C$ in 10-20 mA/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The addition of sodium naphthalene trisulfonate was found to be effective in refine columnar grains thus resulted in decreasing internal stress, increasing hardness and improving brightness.

Cobalt thin film was fabricated by a novel NH3-based plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition(PE-ALD) using Co(CpAMD) precursor and $NH_3$ plasma. The PE-ALD Co thin films were produced well on both thermally grown oxide (100 nm) $SiO_2$ and Si(001) substrates. Chemical bonding states and compositions of PE-ALD Co films were analyzed by XPS and discussed in terms of resistivity and impurity level. Especially, we successfully developed PE-ALD Code position at very low growth temperature condition as low as $T_s=100^{\circ}C$, which enabled the fabrication of Co patterns through lift-off method after the deposition on PR patterned substrate without any thermal degradation.

We examine dosimetry application of irradiated D-fructose materials using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). Consequently, we consider that fructose is one of best dosimetry materials. We found that fructose is one of best candidates for dosimetry due to high linearity tilt of EPR signal intensity as a function of dose, irrelevant to photon energy, constant fading value. Also, our results show that fructose materials can be applied as a radiation detector to very weak radiation doses of 0.001 Gray by using EPR at a low temperature (T = 220 K).
To investigate mechanical property on the low temperature plate weld metal, the two different plates of the same steel grade were welded and evaluated on the multiple pass welds and both side one run welds with different Mo contents welding consumables. The results are summarized as follows; 1) Welds made by no Mo containing wire showed very low impact values for type of material company. 2) Welds made by 0.25%Mo containing wire showed good impact value regardless of both side one run welds and multiple pass welds. 3) Welds made by 0.5%Mo containing wire showed good impact value for both side one run welds, while it was not acceptable value for multiple pass welds.

Kenaf has been cultivated in Jeju Island. After being harvested at 105 DAP(day after planting) and separated from kenaf stalks , decorticated kenaf basts were treated with different concentration/temperature/time combinations in order to do chemical rotting. The following fiber properties were compared; rotting effects, colors, crystallinity, molecular structures, dyeabilities, and non-cellulose contents such as pectins, lignins, & hemicellulose. The best results of chemical rotting were obtained from the specimens treated with low concentration/ low temperature/short time. Their colors were bright yellow. The lumens of specimens diminished with the affect of NaOH. The structures of chemically rotted kenaf fibers were cellulose 1. The degree of crystallinity of chemically retted kenaf fibers were very high. Non-cellulose content, especially hemicellulose, was low in the specimens treated with the high NaOH concentration. Dyeabilities of kenaf fibers were higher among the specimens without the non-cellulose content than those with the non-cellulose content.

This study was carried for recycling laminated PB and MDF of disused furniture. PB and MDF particles taken from disused furniture were heat-treated at $250^{\circ}C$ and four levels of treatment time, 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours. The recycled boards were made with heat-treated particles after milling and screening with 100 mesh. The bending strength of the recycled boards were lower than that of virgin boards while their anti-swelling efficiency were much improved. Their formaldehyde emissivity were very low. Thus it was concluded that the recylcled boards are prospective environment-friendly material for interial consturction.
Field emission of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) fabricated by disproportionation of CO has been studied. CNTs fabricated on well-ordered Co nanowire arrays formed on the porous anodic aluminum oxide templates were well graphitized, uniform in diameter and aligned vertically with respect to the plane of the template, and showed a good field emission property. Very uniform emissions were observed from the CNTs fabricated at relatively low temperature, $500-600^{\circ}C$. Low fabrication temperature such as $500^{\circ}C$ could make it possible to fabricate CNTs on soda lime glass, a low-cost substrate, for display panel.

An integrated inductor using the low temperature cofiring ceramics(LTCC) technology was fabricated. The inductor has Ag circular spiral coil with 16 turns (2-turn x 8-layer) and has a dimension of 11.52mm diameter and 0.71mm thick. For the fabricated inductor, calculation method of inductance was given and it is confirmed that the calculated value is very close to the measured one. Finally as an application of the LTCC integrated inductor to low power electronic circuits, a LTCC buck DC/DC converter with 1.32W output power and 1MHz switching frequency using the inductor fabricated was developed. For the converter the maximum efficiency of about 81% was obtained.
Liquid crystal polymer (LCP) is a thermoplastic polymer with superior mechanical and thermal properties. In addition, its characteristics include very low water absorption rate and possibility to apply bonding process under low temperature. In this study, LCP is utilized as a packaging material for a microelectronic system (MEMS) based safety device with suggestion of a low temperature packaging process. Highly sensitive and stable capacitive type humidity sensor is fabricated to investigate hermeticity of the packaged MEMS device.
Photonic band gap structures have a high potential for nearly zero-threshold lasers. This paper describes new-types of low-threshold photonic crystal lasers fabricated in InGaAsP slab waveguides free-standing in air. Two-types of photonic crystal lasers are studied. One is a single-cell nano-cavity laser formed in a square array of air holes. This photonic band gap laser operates in the smallest possible whispering gallery mode with a theoretical Q >30000 and exhibits low threshold pump power of 0.8 mW at room temperature. The nther laser does not have any cavity structure and the lasing operation originates from the enhanced optical density of states near photonic band edges. A very low threshold of 35 $\mu$W (incident pump power) is achieved from this laser at 80 K, one of the lowest values ever reported. This low threshold is benefited from low optical losses as well as enhanced material gain at low temperature.
