A Study on the Application of Measurement Data Using Machine Learning Regression Models

  • The automotive industry is undergoing a paradigm shift due to the convergence of IT and rapid digital transformation. Various components, including embedded structures and systems with complex architectures that incorporate IC semiconductors, are being integrated and modularized. As a result, there has been a significant increase in vehicle defects, raising expectations for the quality of automotive parts. As more and more data is being accumulated, there is an active effort to go beyond traditional reliability analysis methods and apply machine learning models based on the accumulated big data. However, there are still not many cases where machine learning is used in product development to identify factors of defects in performance and durability of products and incorporate feedback into the design to improve product quality. In this paper, we applied a prediction algorithm to the defects of automotive door devices equipped with automatic responsive sensors, which are commonly installed in recent electric and hydrogen vehicles. To do so, we selected test items, built a measurement emulation system for data acquisition, and conducted comparative evaluations by applying different machine learning algorithms to the measured data. The results in terms of R2 score were as follows: Ordinary multiple regression 0.96, Ridge regression 0.95, Lasso regression 0.89, Elastic regression 0.91.

  • Due to the restriction of movement caused by the Corona epidemic and the expansion of the "big face" through human distance, the "unmanned system" based on artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things has been widely used in modern life. "Self-driving," one of the transportation systems based on artificial technology, has taken the initiative in the transportation system as the spread of Corona has begun. Self-driving technology eliminates unnecessary contact and saves time and manpower, which can significantly impact current and future transportation. Accidents may occur, however, due to the performance of self-driving technology during transportation albeit the U.S. allows ordinary people to drive automatically through experimental operations, and the product liability law will resolve the dispute. Self-driving has become popular in the U.S. after the experimental stage, and in the event of a self-driving accident, product liability should be applied to protect drivers from complicated self-driving disputes. The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether disputes caused by defects in ordinary cars can be resolved through arbitration through U.S. precedents and to investigate whether disputes caused by defects in autonomous cars can be arbitrated.

  • The automated mechanical transmission(AMT) is composed of electronic control management(ECM) and automatic shift gear(ASG). The AMT has advantages which are high efficiency of manual transmissions(MT) and offer operation convenience similar to automatic transmissions(AT). However, it has defects that are the torque gap during gear shift transients and shift time is long. To reduce such defects, it is necessary practically to evaluate error and characteristics as developing simulation model before the control algorithm is applied. In this paper, models are composed of vehicle model and AMT shift control model. Particularly AMT shift control model consists of main clutch management model (MCM) and shift control management model(SCM). The developed models were verified by comparing the simulated and experimental results under the same operational conditions. It can also be used to evaluate shift algorithm.

  • Vehicle weight reduction is a known strategy to improve fuel efficiency and strengthen exhaust gas regulation. The use of high strength steel can satisfy safety, efficiency, emission, manufacturability, durability, and cost requirements. However, springback of high strength steel results in undesired shape defects. Springback is one of the most important issues of high strength steel for many applications in an automobile. Servo press has various capabilities to improve defects, process conditions, and productivity problems when forming a high strength steel. Especially, servo press can be set to function with variable slide motion in a single operation. In this study, the effect of servo press slide motion on 980MPa high strength steel was investigated through U-bending test.

  • In this study, it was analyzed that it is necessary to clarify the quality certification parts system, to make certification codes mandatory for self-certification products that are normally distributed, and to conduct follow-up management so that prompt action and thorough management of test reports are necessary in case of defects. Big data-based data, the detailed number of parts replacement cases, parts cost by part group, share, average labor cost, calculated to analyze the detailed automobile parts industry, and automobile parts certification system and automobile parts market in major countries including Korea and Through the distribution structure analysis, improvement plans for the automobile quality certification parts system were derived.

  • 적외선 열화상 기술은 넓은 면적을 동시에 검사할 수가 있고, 크랙 또는 박리와 같은 결함을 실시간으로 검출할 수 있으며, 일반적으로 적외선 열화상은 열복사로 피사체에서 방사되는 적외선 영역을 열화상 카메라를 통하여 가시적인 화상을 만들어 주는 기술이며 모든 물체의 분자가 열에 의해 교란되어 발생하는데 분자 운동은 물체의 온도가 올라가면 증가하고 온도가 내려가면서 감소한다. 본 연구에서는 초음파 서모그래피 기술과 기법의 적용과 타당성을 확인하여 엔진블록의 자동차산업 전반에 수요가 많은 대상체로 하였고, 결함 부위에 비파괴 신뢰성평가에 대한 실험을 수행하여 기술하였다.

차량용 와이어하네스의 유한요소해석을 이용한 대변형 내구수명 예측 (Life Prediction of Automotive Vehicle's W/H System Using Finite Element Analysis)

  • In the automotive electronic industry, the development of vehicle's door wiring harness (W/H) system for new applications is driven continuously for the low-cost and the high strength performance for electronic components. The problem of the fatigue strength estimation for materials and components containing natural defects, inclusions, or inhomogeneities is of great importance both scientifically and industrially. This article gives some insight into the dimensioning process with special focus on the fatigue analysis of wiring harness (W/H) in vehicle's door structures. The results from endurance tests using slim test specimens were compared with the results from FEM for predicted fatigue life. The expectation for the life of components is affected by the microstructural features with complex stress state arising from the combined service loading and residual stresses.

차량 헤드라이트 불량검사 방법 (Inspection of Vehicle Headlight Defects)

  • 본 논문에서는 차량 헤드라이트의 불량 유무를 판별하기 위하여 생산된 헤드라이트 이미지를 위치 및 회전 보정 후 검사이미지의 ROI(Region of Interest)와 표준 이미지의 ROI와의 유사도를 이용하여 불량 유무를 판단하는 방법을 제안하였다. 유사도 판별은 OpenCV에서 제공하는 템플릿매칭 유사도 판별방법을 응용하여 히스토그램 기반에서 유사도를 판별하는 방법을 사용하였고, 성능 분석을 목적으로 기존 OpenCV의 기본 방법과 비교하였다. 분석결과, OpenCV의 기본 방법보다 좋은 성능을 보임을 알 수 있었고, 제안 방법의 경우 불량 판별율 100%에 근접함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 하네스 배선은 자동차를 구동시키는데 필요한 전기적 신호를 전달하는 매개체 역할을 하며 자동차 성능에 많은 영향을 받는다. 기존 하네스 제품에서는 0과 1을 체크하는 기능으로 운영되고 있으며, 전선 조립 공정에서의 검사를 진행 시 하네스 작업자의 눈에 의한 외부 검사와 회로 검사기를 공정에서 사용하고 있다. 따라서, 검사기에서는 합격이 되어도, 완성 자동차에서는 사용 중에 불량이 발생 되고 있다. 이와 같은 불량을 개선하고자 사용되는, FPGA 기술을 적용한 ADC 정밀 하네스 검사를 통해 선과 선이 미세하게 끊어진 상태를 측정할 수 있는 설계와 시뮬레이션 결과를 제시한다.

수송차량 안전벨트용 모터축재의 마찰용접 최적화(1) - 기계적 특성 및 조직 (Optimization of Friction Welding for Motor Vehicle Safety Belts: Part 1-Mechanical Properties and Microstructure)

  • Dissimilar friction welds were produced using 15-mm diameter solid bars of chrome molybdenum steel (KS SCM440) and carbon steel (KS SM20C) to investigate their mechanical properties. The main friction welding parameters were selected to ensure good quality welds on the basis of visual examination, tensile tests, Vickers hardness surveys of the bond area and HAZ, and macro-structure investigations. The specimens were tested as-welded and post-weld heat treated (PWHT). The tensile strength of the friction welded steel bars was increased to 100% of the SM20C base metal under the condition of a heating time of more than four seconds. Optimal welding conditions were n = 2,000 (rpm), HP = 60 (MPa), UP = 100 (MPa), HT = 5 (s),and UT = 5 (s), when the total upset length was 7.8 (mm). The hardness distribution peak of the friction welded joints could be eliminated using PWHT. The two different kinds of materials were strongly mixed to show a well-combined structure of macro-particles, with no molten material, particle growth, or defects.
