  • In this paper, a yield prediction model based on relevance vector machine (RVM) and a granular computing model (quotient space theory) is presented. With a granular computing model, massive and complex meteorological data can be analyzed at different layers of different grain sizes, and new meteorological feature data sets can be formed in this way. In order to forecast the crop yield, a grey model is introduced to label the training sample data sets, which also can be used for computing the tendency yield. An RVM algorithm is introduced as the classification model for meteorological data mining. Experiments on data sets from the real world using this model show an advantage in terms of yield prediction compared with other models.

  • In this paper, we present a way that can implement the vector control Algorithm of induction motor and PWM signal generation on the condition Matlab/Simulink. The overall system model is designed by Simulink toolbox for vector control in induction motor. and then implement experiment with the DS1103 board of dSPACE. Although we are not coding the system, it is capable of doing simulation and experiment simultaneously. That is why Matlab and dSPACE board compiler can generate the "*.c" and "*.obj" files on the designed system automatically. After considering about hardware structure and driving system in DS1103 board. we verify the availability of proposed method through making a comparison/analysis between simulation and experiment.

  • Micro-source units having power ratings in thousands of watts can provide power quality with higher reliability and efficiency than the conventional large scale units. This paper develops switching level model of micro-source and studies the characteristics of the micro-grid consisting of multiple micro-sources and interfaced with electric power system. The developed model adopts the space vector PWM to fully utilize the capacity of inverter. The interaction of the grid connected micro-sources and the characteristics of the control system parameters are investigated. Micro-sources and micro-grid are implemented using PSCAD/EMTDC. Simulation results show that the proposed model is efficient for studying micro-grid system.

  • Discrete space vector modulation (DSVM) is an effective method to improve the steady-state performance of the finite control set predictive control for permanent magnet synchronous motor drive systems. However, it requires complex computations due to the presence of numerous virtual voltage vectors. This paper proposes an improved finite control set model-free predictive control using DSVM to reduce the computational burden. First, model-free deadbeat current control is used to generate the reference voltage vector. Then, based on the principle that the voltage vector closest to the reference voltage vector minimizes the cost function, the optimal voltage vector is obtained in an effective way which avoids evaluation of the cost function. Additionally, in order to implement double-objective control, a two-level decisional cost function is designed to sequentially reduce the stator currents tracking error and the inverter switching frequency. The effectiveness of the proposed control is validated based on experimental tests.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel 2-D partial matching algorithm based on model-based stochastic analysis of feature correspondences in a relation vector space, which is quite robust to shape variations as well as invariant to geometric transformations. We represent an object using the ARG (Attributed Relational Graph) model with features of a set of relation vectors. In addition, we statistically model the partial occlusion or noise as the distortion of the relation vector distribution in the relation vector space. Our partial matching algorithm consists of two-phases. First, a finite number of candidate sets areselected by using logical constraint embedding local and structural consistency Second, the feature loss detection is done iteratively by error detection and voting scheme thorough the error analysis of relation vector space. Experimental results on real images demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is quite robust to noise and localize target objects correctly even inseverely noisy and occluded scenes.

  • This paper presents a novel three-phase power module bridge type auxiliary resonant AC link snubber for the three-phase voltage-fed sinwave soft switching PWM inverter operating under specific instantaneous space voltage vector modulation. The operating principle of this resonant snubber is described for current source load model during one switching period, along with its design approach based on the simulation data. The performance evaluations of space vector modulation three-phase sinewave soft switching inverter with a new three-phase active auxiliary resonant AC link snubber are discussed as compared with those of three-phase voltage source-fed sinewave hard switching PWM inverter with a standard space voltage vector modulation strategy. The power loss analysis and conventional efficiency estimation of three-phase soft switching PWM inverter using ICBT modules are carried out including all the conduction power losses based upon the measured v-i characteristics of IGBT and its antiparallel diode as well as their switching losses.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study a high-performance control scheme for neutral-point-clamping three-level (NPC-3L) inverter fed dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives by considering some asymmetric factors such as the non-identical parameters in phase windings. To implement this, the system model is analyzed for dual three-phase PMSM drives with asymmetric factors based on the vector space decomposition (VSD) principle. Based on the equivalent circuits, PI controllers with feedforward compensation are used in the d-q subspace for regulating torque, where the cut-off frequency of the PI controllers are set at the twice the fundamental frequency for compensating both the additional DC component and the second order component caused by asymmetry. Meanwhile, proportional resonant (PR) controllers are proposed in the x-y subspace for suppressing the possible unbalanced currents in the phase windings. A dual three-phase space vector modulation (DT-SVM) is designed for the drive, and the balancing factor is designed based on the numerical fitting surface for balancing the DC link capacitor voltages. Experimental results are given to demonstrate the validity of the theoretical analysis and the proposed control scheme.

  • Three fuzzy input space partitoining methods, which are grid, tree, and scatter method, are mainly used until now. These partition methods represent good performance in the modeling of the linear system and nonlinear system with independent modeling variables. But in the case of the nonlinear system with the coupled modeling variables, there should be many fuzzy rules for acquiring the exact fuzzy model. In this paper, it shows that the fuzzy model is acquired using transformed modeling vector by linear transformation of the modeling vector.

  • This paper presents an implementation of vector control for SMPMSM using model based controller design in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The model based controller design enables fast development of control system for motor by designing controllers and performing simulation on the GUI (Graphic User Interface) platform, converting program code directly into real-time programs, and then performing tests for the responses from controllers. The controller is designed as PI controller for speed and decoupling PI controller for current. And PWM used space vector modulation method using offset voltage and system stability is also secured by close magnitude overmodulation method, maintaining dynamics of load when it overmodulation. The validity of vector control implemented is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • This paper discusses a method for obtaining nonnegative estimates for variance components in a random effects model. A variance component should be positive by definition. Nevertheless, estimates of variance components are sometimes given as negative values, which is not desirable. The proposed method is based on two basic ideas. One is the identification of the orthogonal vector subspaces according to factors and the other is to ascertain the projection in each orthogonal vector subspace. Hence, an observation vector can be denoted by the sum of projections. The method suggested here always produces nonnegative estimates using projections. Hartley's synthesis is used for the calculation of expected values of quadratic forms. It also discusses how to set up a residual model for each projection.
