Research Problem: 45-65% of all medical supplies in hospital are used in operating rooms. Medical supplies in operating rooms are difficult to manage in general because many of them are frequently used and come in a variety of types. Purpose: Our aim was to strive for user-friendliness and reduce the inventory through efficient management of medical supplies stocked in operating rooms. Medical Facility: Korea University, Ansan Hospital Quality Improvement Activity: On the last day of each month, we checked the inventory of medical supplies in all operating rooms by identifying the amount of medical supplies in each room, warehouse, and OCS, identified problems, and presented the ways to improve. Improvement Outcome: We increased the number of post-processing medical supply items by 8%, and reduced the inventory cost by 15% through improved management of medical supplies.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics and suggest the Improvement directions of the facilities in Recreational Forests. This study adopted such various analysis methods as reviewing related documents, surveying the existing sites, and using questionnaire to visitors and managers. The result of this study can be summarized as follows ; 1) The major facilities of Recreational Forests are the lodging, recreation, and sports ones. 2) The primary factor for the visitor's satisfaction is the quality of natural environment, but that for their dissatisfaction is the lack of variety of the available facility. 3) The major problems of facilities in Recreational Forests are their number and design. This study suggests the improvement of accessibility and design of the facilities in the Recreational Forests.

Recently, six sigma has been widely adopted in a variety of industries as a disciplined, data-driven problem solving approach or methodology supported by a handful of powerful statistical tools in order to reduce variation through continuous process improvement. Also, data mining has been widely used to discover unknown knowledge from a large volume of data using various modeling techniques such as neural network, decision tree, regression analysis, etc. This paper proposes a six sigma methodology based on data mining for effectively and efficiently processing massive data in driving six sigma projects. The proposed methodology is applied in the hot stove system which is a major energy-consuming process in a "P" steel company for improvement of heat efficiency through reduction of energy consumption. The results show optimal operation conditions and reduction of the hot stove energy cost by 15%.

The product-user interface for consumer electronic products became complex due to the increased variety of functions corresponding to consumer needs. In this study, three types fo design improvement of the menu interface for a video cassette recorder is studied. Three modifications to an existing menu interface was designed using the semantic, the syntactic and the lexical design factors. A series of the validation experiments was performed to test the effect of the three types of task modifications. The results showed that performance time, number of errors and learning effect were improved for all task modification. It also showed that the performance improvement effect of the semantic factors was 8.8%, that of the syntactic factors was 5.9% and that of the lexical factors was 5.6% respectively. It was found out that the performance improvement effect of the semantic design factors were relatively more significant than the syntactic and the lexical design factors.

Faced with large scale of outdoor recreation resources and variety of demanders' desire, it would be necessary for the managers to estimate the values of individual attributes rather than a bundle of characteristics of outdoor recreation sites. By extending the Brown and Mendelsohn's (1984) approach we are able to estimate the beneficial effects of the improvement of individual attributes. Sampling 208 fishermen who visited 11 free fishing sites located in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, the functions of marginal willingness to pay for scenery and non-crowdedness were estimated. If 1 unit of scenery could be improved from its average value a fisherman, on average, would receive benefit of as much as 3,840 won. The average beneficial effect of the non-crowdedness improvement would amount to 2,220 won.

This study investigates and analyzed electrical energy curtailment effect by each business department and by energy use efficiency elevation equipment because do an energy use plan that is enforced in each variety business that is developed in domestic by model. Specially, search present condition and problem by electrical energy curtailment equipment application that probes mass and analyzed, and is applied in present our country according to analysis contents to the latest energy use plan that was enforced on energy use rationality narration but allowed purpose.

The Landscape Act was enacted in 2007 introducing a new procedure of the Local Landscape Agreement and the Local Landscape Improvement Projects. The act has granted local governments a legal basis to support residents participation activities in order to create, improve, and maintain the townscape quality of their neighborhood environments. The degree of utilization of this particular process, however, is far below the expectation. Partly, it is due to the lack of field experience and concrete guidelines for preparation and implementation in actual landscape planning process. This study aims to seek for detailed solution to lead the residents participation for local landscape improvement in Korea through consideration for institutional strategies and cases about the local landscape planning and management in Japan. Local landscape improvement projects in Japan are progressing successfully in concurrence with a variety of local participants such as residents participation, administrative supporting and supporting of local company. And it will be possible to support systematically with systematization of participants, such as NPO and a council.

Currently, the environmental improvement project in residential building in Korea is focused on financing. To solve the variety of problems in urban residential areas, the plan need to apply more elements to improve sustainability. Thus, this study aims to find the main strategies to amend sustainability of the environmental improvement project in residential building. To do this, firstly I reviewed previous studies of sustainablity. Secondly I surveyed the planning elements of the three cases in Boksu-Dong District2, Daeseong-Dong District2, and Samsung-Dong District1 in Daejeon. Lastly I used the AHP analysis method and the 5-point Likert-type questionnaire of judged the importance among the plan elements with experts on urban regeneration of which is found through the previous literature review. In conclusion, this study shows the problems of the Residential Environment Improvement Project. Also, I found out the priority of the main planning elements to improve the problems. By contrasting the relative importance among the plan elements with the case study, the result of this study implies the directions of strategies which include the plan elements for responding climate change, residents' participation, and financial support program and system to improve the status of the environmental improvement project in residential building.

This study aimed to systematically adjust rural area development projects that have been carried out by a variety of government departments for activation of rural areas and overcome inefficient problems caused by the policies and projects promoted separately. As its alternative, this study aimed to explore efficient improvement scheme of rural villages associated with various projects. Major agriculture/rural policies and projects that have been promoted were classified by the target space of the policies and projects as Environment space, living space, and production space. Each space was categorized into five sub-items without duplication. By assessment results of rural area improvement level and preference by Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method, maintenance of rural areas was classified into four types. And outer space structure was analyzed by using Space Syntax Method(SSM). Based on the analysis result above, facilities for improvement of rural villages were placed around representative facilities. Facility allocation was based on selection and concentration in terms of facility maintenance and on type attributes in terms of spatial aspects. And finally, alternatives schemes for setting up the basic direction of improvement of rural villages are local area characteristics and environmentally conscious business plan.

Currently, tire has a variety of information to know the information of the tire are displayed on the tire side. the market are marked with raised letters showing a variety of information relating to the tires. Such information enables people and tire related companies to distinguish between tires upon the information marked on the tires. Generally, people see the information including max press, manufacturing date, etc. Accordingly, studies on automated recognition of raised letters on tire by using image processing technology have been presented consistently. However, they lack a method for recognition of letters and improvement of the recognition. Moreover, the raised letters have been previously recognized through image processing. Further, to obtain the character recognition of a conventional side in video, it is suitably utilized the effects of lighting time of acquisition, so as part of the background and the character has a gray level values between approximately the same, is the part that is not relatively clear are many scattered. In this paper, we see the characters of the tire side using the laser sensor, recognition, was designed for character recognition of the tire side.
