ON OPTIMAL SOLUTIONS OF WELL-POSED PROBLEMS AND VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES

  • In this paper, we study well-posed problems and variational inequalities in locally convex Hausdorff topological vector spaces. The necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of solutions of variational inequality problems and quasi variational inequalities even when the underlying set K is not convex. In certain cases, solutions obtained are not unique. Moreover, counter examples are also presented for the authenticity of the main results.

  • In this paper we consider a kind of Minty`s lemma for multifunctions in Banach spaces, and apply it to obtain existence theorems for two kinds of variational-like inequalities using the KKM-Fan theorem.

  • In this paper, we suggest and analyze a class of resolvent dynamical systems associated with mixed variational inequalities. We study the globally asymptotic stability of the solution of the resolvent dynamical systems for the pseudomonotone operators. We also discuss some special cases, which can be obtained from our main results.

  • In this paper, we introduce two classes of generalized variational-like inequalities with compositely monotone multifunctions in Banach spaces. Using the KKM-Fan lemma and the Nadler's result, we prove the existence of solutions for generalized variational-like inequalities with compositely relaxed ${\eta}-{\alpha}$ monotone multifunctions in reflexive Banach spaces. On the other hand we also derive the solvability of generalized variational-like inequalities with compositely relaxed ${\eta}-{\alpha}$ semimonotone multi functions in arbitrary Banach spaces by virtue of the Kakutani-Fan-Glicksberg fixed-point theorem. The results presented in this paper extend and improve some earlier and recent results in the literature.

  • Let K be a nonempty closed convex subset of a real Hilbert space H. Approximation solvability of a system of nonlinear variational inequality (SNVI) problems, based on the convergence of projection methods, is given as follows: find elements $x^*,\;y^*{\in}H$ such that $g(x^*),\;g(y^*){\in}K$ and $$<\;{\rho}T(y^*)+g(x^*)-g(y^*),\;g(x)-g(x^*)\;{\geq}\;0\;{\forall}\;g(x){\in}K\;and\;for\;{\rho}>0$$ $$<\;{\eta}T(x^*)+g(y^*)-g(x^*),\;g(x)-g(y^*)\;{\geq}\;0\;{\forall}g(x){\in}K\;and\;for\;{\eta}>0,$$ where T: $H\;{\rightarrow}\;H$ is a relaxed $g-{\gamma}-r-cocoercive$ and $g-{\mu}-Lipschitz$ continuous nonlinear mapping on H and g: $H{\rightarrow}\;H$ is any mapping on H. In recent years general variational inequalities and their algorithmic have assumed a central role in the theory of variational methods. This two-step system for nonlinear variational inequalities offers a great promise and more new challenges to the existing theory of general variational inequalities in terms of applications to problems arising from other closely related fields, such as complementarity problems, control and optimizations, and mathematical programming.

A PARALLEL HYBRID METHOD FOR EQUILIBRIUM PROBLEMS, VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES AND NONEXPANSIVE MAPPINGS IN HILBERT SPACE

  • In this paper, a novel parallel hybrid iterative method is proposed for finding a common element of the set of solutions of a system of equilibrium problems, the set of solutions of variational inequalities for inverse strongly monotone mappings and the set of fixed points of a finite family of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert space. Strong convergence theorem is proved for the sequence generated by the scheme. Finally, a parallel iterative algorithm for two finite families of variational inequalities and nonexpansive mappings is established.

  • In this paper we establish the equivalence between the generalized nonlinear mixed variational inequalities and the gener-alized resolvent equations. This equivalence is used to suggest and analyze a number of iterative algorithms for solving generalized vari-ational inequalities. We also discuss the convergence analysis of the propose algorithms. As special cases we obtain various known re-sults from our results.

  • We consider regularity questions arising in the degenerate elliptic vector valued variational inequalities -div(|▽u|p-2∇u)$\geq$b(x, u, ∇u) with p$\in$(1, $\infty$). It is a generalization of the scalar valued inequalities, i.e., the obstacle problem. We obtain the C1,$\alpha$loc regularity for the solution u under a controllable growth condition of b(x, u, ∇u).
