  • 최근 COVID-19의 확산에 따라 비대면 학습의 중요성이 화두로 오르고 있다. 과학관과 같은 다중이용시설을 이용하는 방법에서 각 학교, 또는 가정에서 지도할 수 있는 교육 방법의 변화 또한 논의해야 할 때이다. 특히 천문학 교육의 장으로 활용되고 있는 천체투영관(Planetarium)은 다중이용시설로, 상황에 따라 여러 가지 제약을 가지므로 시·공간 제약을 받지 않는 교육프로그램의 개발이 필요하고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 천체시뮬레이션 소프트웨어를 활용한 스크립트 제작 및 360° VR 영상 제작기술을 개발하고 온라인 플랫폼을 활용하여 천체투영관을 방문하지 않은 비대면 환경에서 도 참가자개인의 휴대기기등을 통한 몰입도 높은 천문학 교육을 구현할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하여 새로운 환경에 대한 적용 기회를 제공하고자 한다. 나아가 개발한 프로그램을 천체투영관에 적용하여 천체투영관 활용 천문학 교육프로그램과 교육과정과 연계한 교육콘텐츠 개발에 활용되기를 기대한다.

  • 코로나-19로 인해 비접촉 서비스의 중요성이 더욱 대두되고 있다. 키보드나 마우스와 같은 기존 입력 장치를 대체하기 위해 사람들은 디지털 기기에서 손을 사용하여 자연스럽고 간단한 입력을 할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 미디어파이프(MediaPipe)와 LSTM(Long Short-Term Memory) 딥러닝을 활용하여 손 제스처를 학습하고 비접촉 입력 장치로 구현하는 방법을 제시한다. 이러한 기술은 가상현실(VR; Virtual Reality), 증강현실(AR; Augmented Reality), 메타버스, 키오스크 등에서 활용 가능성이 크다.

  • Recent advances in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies have led to a significant increase in metaverse platforms. Metaverses are setting a new direction for the digital world. This paper examines the phenomenon of virtual worlds that are becoming an issue these days, focusing on [Ready Player One]. One of the common features of the metaverse platform in [Ready Player One] and the platforms currently in use is the concept of open world. This is a feature that goes beyond simply moving around in a virtual world and allows users to freely reset, participate in, and control the environment. This innovative concept is a hallmark of metaverse platforms, and it is becoming increasingly important and influential. Through this study, we focused on the [open world system] of the platform in the movie and the modern metaverse platform, and suggested and studied how the scalability of the metaverse will present a turning point in the future.

  • 본 논문에서는 제한된 공간에서 효과적인 기초연습이 필요한 장애인 핸드볼 선수들을 대상으로, XR(Extended Reality) 기술을 활용한 특화된 훈련 서비스를 개발하고자 한다. 경기장에 물리적으로 참석할 필요 없이 집이나 사무실에서 편안하게 핸드볼 게임을 경험하고 연습할 기회가 현재 제한되어 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 장애인이 멀티플레이어 환경에서 기초 연습하는 방법 개발에 중점을 두어 이러한 한계를 해결하는 것이다. 이를 통해 선수들은 제한된 실내 환경에서도 가상 현실(VR) 및 증강 현실(AR)을 활용하여 핸드볼 게임을 쉽게 경험하고 연습할 수 있는 가능성을 제공한다.

  • Wearable metaverse devices have sparked enthusiasm as innovative virtual computing user interfaces by addressing a major source of user discomfort, namely, motion-to-photon latency. This kind of latency occurs between the user motion and screen update. To enhance the realism and immersion of experiences using metaverse devices, the vergence-accommodation conflict in stereoscopic image representation must be resolved. Ongoing research aims to address current challenges by adopting vari-focal, multifocal, and light field display technologies for stereoscopic imaging. We explore current trends in research with emphasis on multifocal stereoscopic imaging. Successful metaverse visualization services require the integration of stereoscopic image rendering modules and content encoding/decoding technologies tailored to these services. Additionally, real-time video processing is essential for these modules to correctly and timely process such content and implement metaverse visualization services.

  • To prepare for and implement policies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is characterized by convergence, super-connectivity, and AI, this study summarized the effects and characteristics of individual technologies on our society and discussed the issues with humanity and social science perspectives. As a result, in terms of AI technology, the issues of job losses, project-type works, basic income and robot taxes, accountability of AI, and algorithm inequality were dealt with. Security, cyber hacking and privacy infringement issues were highlighted in big-data technology. In the part of block-chain and bioengineering, the society of decentralization, the concentration, digital divide, and ethical issues were discussed. On-demand economic aspects highlighted the problems of civil ethics and human commercialization. Lastly, the development of VR is discussed including side effects such as cyber-syndrom, avoidance of reality, and so on.

  • With improving computer penormance and advancing simulation techniques, a growing number of softwares are being developed for visualization of investigation results in geotechnical problems. It is a very important subject for geological site investigation to understand or predict if there would be any hazardous geological conclition that might cause any increase of construction costs or an extension of construction period. A 3-D (three-climensional) visualization technique may be one of the powerful tools to overcome an uncertainty problem of geologica] site investigatior. The paper describes an overview of a newly developed geotechnical 3-D interpretation system for the purpose of applying the 3-D visualization technique, GIS (geographic information system) and D/B (database) to tunnel design and construction. VR (virtual reality) and 3-D visualization techniques are applied in order to develope the 3-D model of characteristics and structures of rock mass. D/B system for all the materials related to site investigation and tunnel construction is developed using GIS technique. This system is very useful for civil engineers to make a plan of tunnel construction at the design stage and also during construction with the advantage of improving the economy and safety of tunnels.

  • In this study, the role and function of Edutech, as well as the application and expectations in the field of future vocational competency development, were gathered to define Edutech as a comprehensive working definition. Based on this redefinition of Edutech, this study analyzes Edutech technology trends and examines the level of actual technology applied to education and vocational training based on written interviews with experts, and finds out significant implications from the point of view of vocational training. Finally we propose an Edutech-based Vocational Education and Training Model.

  • This study aims to compare and evaluate the usability of domestic and overseas XR devices. With the recent release of 'Apple Vision Pro', interest in the XR field is increasing rapidly. XR devices are being used in various fields such as defense, medical care, education, and entertainment, but the evaluation system for evaluating usability is still insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to derive improvements in domestic equipment through comparative evaluation of usability for two HMD-type devices and one glasses-type device that are released. In order to conduct the study, 20 participants in their 20s to 30s who were interested in XR devices and had no visual sensory organ-related disabilities were evaluated by wearing VR equipment. As a quantitative evaluation, electromyography through an EMG sensor and the device and body temperature of the device through a thermal imaging camera were measured. As a qualitative evaluation, the safety of wearing, ease of wearing, comfort of wearing, and satisfaction of wearing were evaluated. As a result of comparing the usability of the devices based on the results, it was confirmed that domestic HMD-type device needs improvement in the strap part.

  • 가상환경의 실시간 운동감을 제공하는 차량 시뮬레이터 기술에 있어, 그 현실성 제고를 위한 다양한 연구가 수행되어 왔으며, 최근에는 실제 대상의 운동감을 기록하고 이를 재생하는, 데이터기반 운동감 생성 시스템이 개발되었다. 이 방법은 실제 운동감을 제공하므로, 현실성 확보가 용이하나, 사용자와의 상호 작용이 없는 단순한 가상 컨텐츠의 제공 단계에 머물고 있다. 본 연구에서는, 컴퓨터 그래픽스 분야에서 활발히 연구되고 있는, 모션 캡쳐 데이터의 가공 및 합성 기술을 차량 시뮬레이터 구동 과정에 도입하여, 제어가 가능한, 실 데이터 기반 운동감을 생성하는, 새로운 방법을 제안하고자 한다. 이 방법은, 실제 차량의 운동데이터를 획득하고, 적절한 형태의 데이터 구조(운동감 조각)로 변환하여 데이터베이스에 저장하며, 실시간 시뮬레이션 시, 최적의 운동감 조각을 검색하고 합성하여 운동감 스트림을 제공하는 방법으로서, 현재의 시뮬레이션 상태 및 사용자의 요구 사항을 매개변수화 하여, 현실과 가장 가까운 운동감 생성방법을 제공한다. 또한, 차량 운동감 생성 시스템의 개발 및 모션 베이스 구동 실험을 통해, 제안한 방법에 의한 운동감의 현실성 제고 방안에 대해 소개하고자 한다.
