Rapid growth in computer and digital-based technology has brought about changes in various human services including psychotherapy. This paper will look into one of these changes, focusing on a rising area of mental health therapy : Art therapy. Although development of art therapy is not so fast compared to other branches of psychotherapy, some art therapists are studying how to adopt and use it properly. Both art therapists and mental health experts have concluded that technology is a powerful tool despite its limitations and reservations. While some of them think that patients have benefited from the implementation of technology, others have felt concerns about the replacement of basic professional practices. The use of digital technology in the area of art therapy, however, continues to increase, encouraging patients to benefit from it in various therapeutic processes. This thesis therefore focuses on the analysis of literature related to digital art therapy published up to now. The following field study on Korean art therapists aims to examine the current practice of digital art therapy and discuss its feasibility and future. These two methods will contribute to enhancing the understanding of art therapy not only in theory but in practice and also suggest how digital art therapy may overcome limitations of conventional art therapy by exploiting its advantages. Furthermore, this study will present some clues on a possible new position of digital art therapy in the future. I hope that this analytical examination on digital art therapy will stimulate further discussion on this issue and particularly encourage more interdisciplinary work between art therapy and digital technology.
Terrestrial broadcasters are devoting great efforts in order to increase sense of reality that would help viewers feel as if they were watching events on site by producing-depth, differentiated news and offering a variety of information to them. They maximize news video graphic effects by replacing news set and install large display units, rail camera, and Jimmy Jib camera. This study aims to grasp whether there is any difference among the main evening news of the three major terrestrial broadcasters. KBS, MBC, and SBS used 18%, 15%, and 12% of graphic usage hours respectively while the number of graphic usage cases amounted to 267, 329, and 276 for each of them. The number of cases where in-depth news report hours exceeded three minutes that require increasingly more virtual reality graphic technology production was 16 for KBS, 7 for MBC, and 5 for SBS. MBC showed the highest number of uses in graphics while KBS showed more graphic use hours than the other two. There have been a number of preceding studies on news contents, but it is significant that this study looked at how much graphics technologies are used in such news video contents.

In this paper, we propose a user experience evaluation method for virtual reality living space contents and apply it to prototype simulations to measure user experience. The user evaluation method proposed in this paper is based on the existing user evaluation methodology, but it is established by changing the experience and evaluation factors to match the characteristics of the virtual reality living space. The generated virtual reality living space simulation is configured similar to real space and is placed real objects that the user actually uses in each space, so that users can feel reality. The subjects performed the tasks according to the given scenarios and then evaluated the simulation. As a result of the evaluation, the main goal of the simulation, the items that make the users feel realistic, were lower than our expectations. This means that future simulations need to be modified in a way that adds or expands elements that enhance the realism. In this way, the UX evaluation method proposed in this paper is expected to provide a more objective indicator to the content developer or designer in order to grasp the user's demand in the virtual reality living space.
After introducing the industry 4.0 policy, Korean government announced 'Digital New Deal' and 'Green New Deal' as 'Korean New Deal' in 2020. We analyzed Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM)'s research projects related to that policy and conducted markets analysis focused on Digital Twin and environmental monitoring technologies. Regarding 'Data Dam' policy, we suggested the digital geo-contents with Augmented Reality (AR) & Virtual Reality (VR) and the public geo-data collection & sharing system. It is necessary to expand and support the smart mining and digital oil fields research for '5th generation mobile communication (5G) and artificial intelligence (AI) convergence into all industries' policy. Korean government is suggesting downtown 3D maps for 'Digital Twin' policy. KIGAM can provide 3D geological maps and Internet of Things (IoT) systems for social overhead capital (SOC) management. 'Green New Deal' proposed developing technologies for green industries including resource circulation, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS), and electric & hydrogen vehicles. KIGAM has carried out related research projects and currently conducts research on domestic energy storage minerals. Oil and gas industries are presented as representative applications of digital twin. Many progress is made in mining automation and digital mapping and Digital Twin Earth (DTE) is a emerging research subject. The emerging research subjects are deeply related to data analysis, simulation, AI, and the IoT, therefore KIGAM should collaborate with sensors and computing software & system companies.

The purpose of this study was to devise a specific plan for activating sports to promote health in old age against the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. Through literature review, it also analyzed the association between health status and COVID-19 in old age, suggested health promotion policies and projects for elderly people, and presented a plan for activating sport to promote health in old age against COVID-19 era. First, it is necessary to revise the relevant laws, including the Sport Promotion Act and the Elderly Welfare Act, partially or entirely, make developmental and convergent legislations for elderly health and sports, and establish an institutional device as needed. Second, it is necessary to build an integrated digital platform for the elderly and make a supporting system that links facilities, programs, information, and job creation as part of a New Deal program in the field of sports on the basis of the Korean New Deal. Third, it is necessary to train elderly welfare professionals. Efforts should be made to establish more departments related to elderly sports in universities and make it compulsory to place elderly sports instructors at elderly leisure and welfare facilities. Fourth, it is necessary to develop contents related to health in old age. This means performing diverse movements by manipulating them through a virtual reality (VR) simulation. Fifth, it is necessary to make a greater investment in research and development related to elderly sports and relevant fields. This means the need to conduct constant research on healthy and active aging in a systematic and practical way through multidisciplinary cooperation. Sixth, it is necessary to establish and operate an elderly management agency (elderly health agency) under the influence of the Office of the Prime Minister. This means the need to secure independence in implementing the functions related to health promotion in old age and make comprehensive operation, which involves all the issues of health promotion in old age, daily function maintenance and rehabilitation, social adjustment, and long-term care, by establishing an elderly management agency in an effort to give lifelong health management to the elderly and cope with the untact, New Normal age.
Purpose: This paper is for the improvement of the safety education system in the construction industry, which has become a great threat to domestic industrial safety. Among the industrial sectors, the accident rate and death rate in the construction industry are the highest, and measures for falls in the litigation work are needed. Method: The application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) resulted in the following conclusions. Results: The management group of the construction industry was divided into a group of on-site workers. In addition, the practical education system was reviewed by analyzing differences in perceptions of safety education. The survey results of the two groups were analyzed through AHP by dividing the construction safety education system into three layers. Conclusion: The results showed that managers showed a great deal of importance, such as actual conditions for implementation related to education, while on-site workers indicated importance for items that were somewhat site-oriented compared to managers. In addition, the two groups did not place much weight on the effectiveness of AR and VR, which have been expanding into safety education recently.

An edutainment system aims to help learners to recognize problems effectively, grasp and classify important information needed to solve the problems and convey the contents of what they have learned. Edutainment contents can be usefully applied to education and training in the both scientific and industrial areas. Our present work proposes an edutainment system that can be applied to a drug discovery process including virtual screening by using intuitive multi-modal interfaces. In this system, a stereoscopic monitor is used to make three-dimensional (3D) macro-molecular images, with supporting multi-modal interfaces to manipulate 3D models of molecular structures effectively. In this paper, our system can easily solve a docking simulation function, which is one of important virtual drug screening methods, by applying gaming factors. The level-up concept is implemented to realize a bio-game approach, in which the gaming factor depends on number of objects and users. The quality of the proposed system is evaluated with performance comparison in terms of a finishing time of a drug docking process to screen new inhibitors against target proteins of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in an e-drug discovery process.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of motion sickness on pupil rhythm. Sixteen volunteers of both genders (8 male, 8 female, mean age $25.67{\pm}2.43$ years) experienced VR contents in both 2D and HMD versions for 15 minutes, and their pupillary rhythms were compared. The irregular pattern of the pupillary rhythms, as demonstrated by increasing mean pupil diameter (mPD) and standard deviation of the pupil diameter (sPD), revealed motion sickness after experiencing HMD condition. The pupillary response is strongly related to the cognitive load, and the motion sickness can be interpreted as a change in the cognitive load caused by the increasing volume of visual information that must be processed and the conflict or inconsistency between different sensory modalities. The method proposed in this study could be a non-contact measurement method for the monitoring of motion sickness using a web-camera rather than previous sensor-based methods.
Despite the great interest in the metaverse from academia and industry, research so far has been focused on a specific area, and the background of the study is in the recognition that research is necessary from the perspective of the entire metaverse ecosystem. The purpose of this study was to derive the metaverse research framework and each component to study from the perspective of the metaverse ecosystem, and to study the development stage of the metaverse ecosystem. From an academic point of view, the ecosystem components were derived through the Metaverse IDC-Platform, a framework for applying Michael Porter's diamond model to the metaverse. From a practical point of view, the four components of the metaverse ecosystem interact with each other in terms of metaverse application and development. As the basis of this study, it can be used strategically because it is possible to identify areas for reinforcement in academia and industry and provide basic data for insight by closely examining the strengths and weaknesses of each component. The contribution of research is that it has created a foundation for research that has been limited to specific areas from an ecosystem perspective, unlike before.

The importance of hydrogen fuel cells continues to be emphasized, and there is a growing demand for education and training in this field. Among various educational environments, metaverse education is opening a new era of change in the global education industry, especially to adapt to remote learning. The most significant change that the metaverse has brought to education is the shift from one-way, instructor-centered, and static teaching approaches to multi-directional and dynamic ones. It is expected that the metaverse can be effectively utilized in hydrogen fuel cell engineer education, not only enhancing the effectiveness of education by enabling learning and training anytime, anywhere but also reducing costs associated with engineering education. In this research, inspired by these ideas, we are designing a fuel cell education platform. We have created a platform that combines theoretical and practical training using the metaverse. Key aspects of this research include the development of educational training content to increase learner engagement, the configuration of user interfaces for improved usability, the creation of environments for interacting with objects in the virtual world, and support for convergence services in the form of digital twins.
