시설 재배 수박병 진단을 위한 전문가시스템의 개발 (Development of an Expert System for Diagnosing Diseases of Watermelon Grown in Greenhouse)

  • 본 연구에서는 시설 재배 수박에 자주 발생하는 8가지 병과 1가지 생리장해 증상을 진단할 수 있는 수박병 진단용 전문가시스템인 WDES를 개발하였다. 사용된 전문가시스템 개발도구로 HCLIPS를 사용하여 한글 입출력이 가능하게 하였다. WDES의 지식베이스는 35개 IF-THEN 형식의 규칙으로 구성되었으며 추론과정은 순방향 추론방식을 채택하였다. 질문 문항별로 도움말, 도움그림, 질문이유 등의 도움기능을 포함시켜 사용자가 질문 문항에 대한 답변을 쉽게 할 수 있도록 하였다. 수박재배자와 전문연구자들이 WDES를 사용해 본 결과 WDES의 타당성과 실용가능성을 인정할 수 있었다. 실제 수박밭에서는 다양한 종류의 병과 생리적 장해가 함께 발생되고 있으므로 WDES가 실용적으로 사용되기 위해서는 각종 병 증상들에 대하여 좀더 세부적인 특징을 파악하여 지식베이스 내의 규칙을 보완해야 한다.

모바일 폰에서의 양 손을 이용한 한글 입력 수행도 예측 모델에 대한 연구 (Two - Handed Hangul Input Performance Prediction Model for Mobile Phone)

  • With a rapid extension of functions in mobile phones, text input method has become very important for mobile phone users. Previous studies for text input methods were focused on Fitts' law, emphasizing expert's behaviors with one-handed text input method. However, it was observed that 97% of Korean mobile phone users input texts with two-hands. Therefore, this study was designed to develop a prediction model of two-handed Hangul text entry method including novice users as well as experts for mobile phone. For this study, Fitts' law was hypothesized to predict experts' movement time(MT) whereas Hick-Hyman law for visual search time was hypothesized to be added to MT for novices. The results showed that the prediction model was well fitted with the empirical data for both experts and novices with less than 3% error rates. In conclusion, this prediction model of two-handed Hangul text entry including novice users was proven to be a very effective model for modeling two-handed Hangul text input behavior for both experts.

  • This paper presents a case-building algorithm which can control the design variables of which some variables are designated as the input (known) variables and the remainders are defined as the output (unknown) variables. The case-building algorithm can enhance the design ability by categorizing design case automatically. Common CAD programs for analysis and design of machine elements use a case-selection technique where a programmer set initially a few of design cases and users can only choose one of given cases. This paper also demonstrates the case-building algorithm by applying into CAD programs for power-screw design.

  • Recent interests in intelligent LP modeling aim to support MS/OR-naive users to be able to apply LP models to practical problems without the expert knowledges required. For more generalized LP modeling, a GPS(General Problem Solver)-based approach is suggested in this paper. It identifies modeling process as a means-ends analysis process. In view of this approach, a) we first divide the knowledges into domain specific assertive knowledges(state) and procedural knowledges about LP modeling(operator and macro) for model-domain independence, b) and then generate LP model according to the difference resolution techniques.

  • The parameter through the motor designing program is used to predict motor response and design the motor drive circuits. The application programs such as "Saber" are often used for these. However, making the electrical model of motor for these simulation tool is uncomfortable and impossible for general users. Therefore, in this paper, we develop the "Spice" library generation program with the motor designing program "Motor Expert". OPAC의 발전과정과 주제접근방법론 (Development of OPAC and theories on online subject access)

  • This study aims at defining the concept of OPAC, tracing of research trends and development of it, and clarifying various methods of subject access and patterns of bibliographic searching in OPAC as well as strategies for improving to implement online catalogs. Although OPAC is so far the most user-friendly bibliographic searching method, there are still a lot of issues including online subject access in particular. Therefore a more effective and useful method for computer end-users have to be developed, for instance, improvement of an indexing system, a n.0, pplication of the classification system as a searching tool, a new design and construction of standardized thesaurus, betterment of user interface, introducing of expert system into bibliographic searching, establishment of subject authority file. Those would raise the success-rate of users seeking bibliographic information in the library catalogs. Korean libraries are in very early stage of OPAC implementation so that every efforts and concerns to improve strategies and techniques for subject access to OPAC have been strongly asked.

도시이미지 향상을 위한 도시디자인의 평가체계 설정에 관한 연구 (Establishment of the Evaluation System of Urban-Design for the Improvement of an Urban-Image)

  • Regarding urban design in this 21st century, cities pursue human-oriented urban design through which nature, cities, and human beings are unified and interact with one another. For such urban design maintenance, it is needed to conduct systematic analysis and synthesis on various and complex factors of cities expressing urban images. Also, it is necessary to secure methods to evaluate those cities based on urban users' visual information. Thereupon, this study aims to suggest urban design evaluation methods which accept human behavior or needs and also allow us to figure out desirable images. For this, the study established the construction system of the most basic urban design components that form cities through literature review and expert evaluation. And it examines correlation among those factors with statistic means. Through this, the study suggests a new urban design evaluation system and evaluation process divided into experts and users so as to reflect user behavior or needs.

  • The evolution of telecommunications has raised the profile of many segments of the network that were not previously considered important. Until recently, basic telephony existed with the extension of passive cables without any particular user network interface. In the area of data communications, the introduction of flexible packet switching has allowed the network to evolve in a far more efficient manner. To overcome such separated network problems and business needs of both users and network providers, the integrated narrowband ISDN concept is being developed in most countries for implementation in the public switched telephone network (PSTN). The targets of ISDN, in my opinion, can be explained as follows : To the user, ISDN should provide the services at any time, at any place, through any media. To the business customer using PABX or LAN applications, ISDN should introduce customized services rapidly and also, ISDN should be developed by the modular hardware and software design approach in order for new services to be introduced rapidly and effectively. Software can be also developed by non-expert local staff to cater for adopting new user's service requirements immediately. Finally, ISDN will be able to increase business chances and benefit both users and operating companies.

  • This article presents a field evaluation of an IP-based architecture for heterogeneous environments that has been developed under the aegis of the Moby Dick project, covering UMTS-like (universal mobile telecommunications system) TD-CDMA (time division-code division multiple access) wireless access technology, wireless and wired LANs. The architecture treats all transmission capabilities as basic physical and data-link layers, and replaces all higher-level tasks by IP-based strategies. The Moby Dick architecture incorporates mobile IPv6, fast handovers, AAA-control (authentication, authorisation, accounting), charging and quality of service (QoS) in an integrated framework. The architecture further allows for optimised control on the radio link layer resources. It has been implemented and tested by expert users, and evaluated by real users on field trials with multiple services available.
