FlappyBird Competition System: 인공지능 수업의 경쟁 기반 평가 시스템의 구현 (FlappyBird Competition System: A Competition-Based Assessment System for AI Course)

  • In this paper, we present the FlappyBird Competition System (FCS) implementation, a competition-based automated assessment system used in an entry-level artificial intelligence (AI) course at a university. The proposed system provides an evaluation method suitable for AI courses while taking advantage of automated assessment methods. Students are to design a neural network structure, train the weights, and tune hyperparameters using the given reinforcement learning code to improve the overall performance of game AI. Students participate using the resulting trained model during the competition, and the system automatically calculates the final score based on the ranking. The user evaluation conducted after the semester ends shows that our competition-based automated assessment system promotes active participation and inspires students to be interested and motivated to learn AI. Using FCS, the instructor significantly reduces the amount of time required for assessment.

  • For the development of a better product which fits to the target user population, physical workloads such as reach and visibility are evaluated using digital human simulation in the early stage of product development; however, ergonomic workload assessment mainly relies on visual observation of reach envelopes and view cones generated in a 3D graphic environment. The present study developed a quantitative assessment method of physical workload in a digital environment and applied to the evaluation of a Korean utility helicopter (KUH) cockpit design. The proposed assessment method quantified physical workloads for the target user population by applying a 3-step process and identified design features requiring improvement based on the quantified workload evaluation. The scores of physical workloads were quantified in terms of posture, reach, visibility, and clearance, and 5-point scales were defined for the evaluation measures by referring to existing studies. The postures of digital humanoids for a given task were estimated to have the minimal score of postural workload by finding all feasible postures that satisfy task constraints such as a contact between the tip of the index finger and a target point. The proposed assessment method was applied to evaluate the KUH cockpit design in the preliminary design stage and identified design features requiring improvement. The proposed assessment method can be utilized to ergonomic evaluation of product designs using digital human simulation.

라이프로깅 애플리케이션 사용성 평가 (Usability Evaluation for Life-logging Application)

  • 사용자 중심 디자인과 콘텐츠 개발이 대두되면서 사용성 평가에 대한 연구와 항목 정립이 중요해지고 있다. 그렇지만, 모바일 애플리케이션이나 특정 분야에 대한 디지털 시스템에 대한 사용성 평가에 대한 연구는 미비한 상태이다. 최근 웨어러블 기기와 스마트 폰의 발달로 자기 정량화(Quantified-self) 또는 라이프 로깅에 대한 사용과 콘텐츠 개발이 급증하고 있다. 본 논문은 라이프로깅 서비스를 지원하는 애플리케이션에 대한 사용성 평가 항목과 요인을 정립하고자 하는데 있다. 본 연구를 위하여 첫째, 라이프로깅 애플리케이션의 사용성 평가 요인을 정립하기 위하여 기존의 사용성 평가 항목을 수집하고 FGI(Focus Group Interview)를 통해 초기 항목을 선정하였다. 둘째, 선정된 초기 항목에 대한 사용성 평가 설문을 진행하여 그 결과에 대해 신뢰도 분석과 탐색적 요인분석을 실시히였다. 셋째, 통계 분석 결과를 통해 28가지 사용성 평가 항목과 4가지 요인인 인식성, 기능성, 심미성, 만족성을 정립하였다. 마지막으로 정립된 사용성 평가에 대한 활용 기대와 한계점을 논의할 것이다. 본 논문의 결과는 계속 증가하고있는 라이프로깅 애플리케이션의 사용성 평가 시 가이드라인으로 활용되어 효과적인 콘텐츠 개발에 기여할 것이다.

사용자 중심의 주거 실내공간 감성평가도구 개발 (The Development of Sensibility Evaluation Tools for User-Oriented Housing Interior Space)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the user-oriented housing interior space sensibility evaluation tools: The user-oriented housing interior space sensibility evaluation tools shall be developed through the systematic selection process of the extracted housing interior space images, which were linked with the adjectives of sensibility evaluation selected for the housing interior space preferred by the user from the specific words of the sensibility extracted to identify the characteristics of the user's sensibility which is recently being changed. In the results of analyzing the words of sensibility for the residential space preferred by the users with 48 pairs of adjectives. The user-oriented sensibility assessment tool was built by extracting 8 sensibility factors of 'cozy', 'practical' 'cheerful', 'traditional', 'unique', 'congenial', 'sensuous', and 'gorgeous' in the exploratory factor analysis. The image scale was constructed in two-dimensions of the sense of space and the type of space for the residential interior space images. The dimension of the 'sense of space' is explained by the axis of open-closed and the dimension of 'type of space, is explained by the axis of 'natural-artificial'. Such a structural model of the residential interior design attributes were divided into 8 groups. And the 42 images representing each group were selected and the user-oriented residential interior space image tool was built by adding user's selective elements.

감시경계 로봇의 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스 설계 (A Graphical User Interface Design for Surveillance and Security Robot)

  • This paper introduces a graphical user interface design that is aimed to apply to the surveillance and security robot, which is the pilot program for the army unmanned light combat vehicle. It is essential to consider the activities of robot users under the changing security environment in order to design the efficient graphical user interface between user and robot to accomplish the designated mission. The proposed design approach firstly identifies the user activities to accomplish the mission in the standardized scenarios of military surveillance and security operation and then develops the hierarchy of the interface elements that are required to execute the tasks in the surveillance and security scenarios. The developed graphical user interface includes input control component, navigation component, information display component, and accordion and verified by the potential users from the various skilled levels with the military background. The assessment said that the newly developed user interface includes all the critical elements to execute the mission and is simpler and more intuitive compared to the legacy interface design that was more focused on the technical and functional information and informative to the system developing engineers rather than field users.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify a causal relationship between social tv services and intended acceptance of social tv service through the SERVQUAL five dimensions which mean generally assessment of superior user. Also I am going to analyze that how factors of intended acceptance of social tv service effect on intended acceptance through perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use based on Technology Acceptance Model which provides theoretical basis for behavior response of information technology. This study is significant that social tv combine the five dimensions of service quality that mean assessment of overall excellent or superior user and Technology Acceptance Model that provides theoretical basis for describing an behavior response of information technology.

Subjective Evaluation of Ultra-high Definition (UHD) Videos

  • This paper presents a detailed subjective quality assessment for the ultra-high definition (UHD) videos having frame rates of 30fps and 60 fps. The subjective assessment is based on the ITU-R BT-500 recommendations, where double stimulus continuous quality scale (DSCQS-type II) test is performed for the evaluation of the perceived quality of the user's in terms of differential mean opinion score (DMOS). Encoding of the UHD videos by opting encoders i.e. H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, and VP9 at five different quantization parameter (QP) levels is done to investigate the perceived user's quality of experience (QoE) given as DMOS. Moreover, the encoding efficiency as the encoding time for each encoder and qualitative performance by employing full-reference (FR) quality metrics are presented in this work.

이용자 의식조사를 통한 도시공원 내 시설 평가 연구 (A Study on Evaluating Facilities within Urban Parks through a User Awareness Survey)

  • This study is to survey facilities installed at urban parks and identify park facilities desired by users through a questionnaire survey of users who actually use the parks. Then, the outcome will be compared and evaluated to install urban park facilities that reflect the desires of users in the future. Findings showed that park facilities currently installed are mostly those easy to install and manage among facilities suggested in relevant laws. Regardless of park types and sizes, similar facilities were installed across parks. A questionnaire survey of users showed that they wanted facilities to rest, sports facilities, waterscape facilities and facilities to accompany families. The result also showed that they wanted green area-style parks that have a lot of trees. Therefore, going forward, facilities reflecting such desires of users should be installed at parks as much as possible. When developing a park creation plan for each city, it would be critical to survey the opinions of residents in relevant areas in advance and reflect it to the creation plan.

  • 보안 시스템에서 사용자 인증은 필수적이며 가장 중요한 절차 중의 하나이다. 대개의 사용자 인증은 키보드를 통한 문자기반의 패스워드를 이용하여 이루어지므로 키보드 정보의 보호는 무엇보다 중요하다[7][8]. 이러한 이유로 키보드 보호를 위한 소프트웨어들이 주요 사이트에 적용되어 있다. 본 논문은 현재 보편적으로 사용되고 있는 USB 키보드의 취약점을 소개하고 이를 이용하는 예제 코드를 구현하여 키보드 보안 소프트웨어가 실행되고 있는 상황에서의 키보드 데이터의 탈취 가능성을 진단한다. 또한 결과의 비교를 통하여 해당 취약점에 대응하기 위한 보안 대책을 제안한다.

  • In this study, a forecasting engine from the user perspective is studied and developed. Characteristics of forecasting engine can be divided into a few categories, an algorithms for predicting variety of situations and the depth of algorithms based on the number and the types of data. Then applying a variety of algorithms that most closely match the predicted values for the actual value that deduce criteria for selecting an appropriate forecasting algorithm is to organize. Through the forecast quality assessment, the suggested distribution algorithm compared to the existing demand forecast algorithms is good indicators for its accuracy.
