Gains promised by the introduction of e-commerce back-office systems are not easily realized due to poor technology acceptance, especially in developing countries. This study aims to analyze factors which affect information technology acceptance in developing countries. A research model based on TAM is proposed, and it is empirically tested for the hypotheses of factors which affect the acceptance behavior. The result shows that antecedents such as user training influence the technology acceptance in different ways. This study may help accelerate the adoption of back-office systems in developing countries.
E-learning becomes an important part of education these days in Korea. Students had no choice but to accept the e-learning when the e-learning was used as a supplementary learning tool within a traditional class or a stand-alone distance education. This study focuses on the students' intention of e-learning acceptance for voluntary studies. In voluntary study, students have the rights to adopt the e-learning or not for their personal study. We used individual characteristics as the external variables of TAM to explain user acceptance of e-learning for voluntary studies and examined the effect of individual characteristics on user's beliefs. Research model and nine hypotheses were set up to identify the relationships among these variables based on investigations of previous researches. The theoretical model is tested with questionnaires from 420 users who accept e-learning for voluntary studies. We tested the measurement and research models by applying a structural equation modeling(SEM) approach, using the AMOS 5.0. Overall, the results provided support for the model as explaining acceptance of an e-learning system. Most path coefficients in the research model were found statistically significant. The results showed usefulness and enjoyment and subject norm were the factors affecting attitude of students using e-learning. In addition, usefulness and subject norm were the factors affecting intention of students using e-learning. The results show innovation and self-efficacy have a significant impact on user's perception of ease of use. Self-efficacy also have significant effects on user's perception of usefulness.

As web technologies evolve and so-called Web 2.0 technologies appear, collective intelligence is being applied in widespread areas. In general, mass collective intelligence like Wikipedia is created, revised, and managed by anonymous participants in an uncontrolled system. Thus, the knowledge provided by mass collective intelligence may be distorted, and may not be true, which may affect the user acceptance behavior. However, there have been few academic studies that analyzed the factors that affect user acceptance of mass collective intelligence, and their relationships. Under this academic background, we develop a model to examine how mass collective intelligence is accepted by users. The theoretical model is validated through an online survey of the Wikipedia users from three universities in Korea. The results reveal that the users will have positive attitude towards adopting mass collective knowledge when they perceive that the knowledge from mass collective intelligence is useful. We also find that the perceived usefulness of the knowledge is affected by perceived knowledge quality and trust in knowledge contributors. The results also suggest that perceived knowledge quality is determined by perceived level of collaboration, perceived objectivity, and recipient expertise, whereas trust in knowledge contributors is determined by natural propensity to trust and perceived objectivity. Theoretical and practical implications about mass collective knowledge are discussed.
The rapid growth of investments in mobile service to reach a large and growing body of customers, coupled with low communication costs, has made user acceptance an increasingly critical management issue. The study draws upon the task-technology fit (TTF) model as its theoretical basis and its empirical findings to pragmatically explain the key factors that affect the performance and user acceptance of mobile service in medical field. A total of 110 usable responses were obtained. The findings indicate that the task, technology, and individual user characteristics positively affect task-technology fit and mobile service usage. The task-technology fit and mobile service usage are the dominant factors that affect mobile service performance. The result points out the importance of the fit between technologies and users' tasks in achieving individual performance impact from mobile service in medical arena.
The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that impact the user's intention to accept technology when Introducing new information security systems for the workers of a semiconductor company. The findings of this study were as follows. First, the factors of a company's information security systems, namely reliability, expertise, availability, security, and economic efficiency, all significantly and positively impacted performance expectations. Second, the performance expectation of introducing information security systems for a company significantly and positively impacted the intention to accept technology. Third, the social impact of introducing information security systems for a company had a significant and positive impact on technology acceptance intention. Fourth, the facilitating conditions for introducing a company's information security systems significantly and positively impacted technology acceptance intention. Fifth, as for the moderating effect of innovation resistance, the moderating effect was significant in the paths of [performance expectation -> technology acceptance intention], [social impact -> technology acceptance intention], and [facilitating conditions -> technology acceptance intention]. The implication of this study is that the factors to be considered when introducing information security systems were provided to companies that are the actors of their proliferation, providing the base data to lay the foundation for introducing security technologies and their proliferation.
As the easy payment service is popularized and the competition in the service market is fierce, research on factors affecting users' continuous use of the easy payment service is becoming increasingly important. However, in the existing studies, the discussion of the continuous intention to use the consumer's simple payment service has not been sufficiently conducted. Existing research remains on the way of listing technology and consumer characteristics. To bridge this research gap, this study aims to integrate and modify ECM and UTAUT to consider factors influencing the continuous use of easy payment services. The user's expectations and the confirmation were considered as important factors to decide. For empirical analysis, a survey was conducted for 236 users who had experience with domestic easy payment service. As a result, it was verified that confirmation, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and habit in regard to easy payment services are important for continuous use intention. Through this study, it is expected that the consumer's technology acceptance mechanism on the continuous use of simple payment will be grasped in more detail to develop academic discussions in the field. Implications from the results as well as limitations of the study are presented.

The main purpose of this research is to investigate relationships between the significant control factors on acceptance intention to User Experience (UX) sports smart wearable devices by applying Technology Readiness (TR) and Unified Theory of Technology (UTAUT). Research survey targeted on users of golf smart devices in Seoul. A total 534 questionnaires were collected and used for testing hypotheses. Methods to analyze the data included frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling in accordance with the purpose of the study by using SPSS and AMOS. The results are as follows; First, positive TR had a significantly positive effect on social influence, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, perceived enjoyment, performance expectancy. Second, negative TR had a significant negative effect on performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, perceived enjoyment. Third, TR had a no significantly effect on behavioral intention. Fourth, performance expectancy, perceived enjoyment and facilitating conditions had a significantly positive effect on behavioral intention. Fifth, behavioral intention had a significantly positive effect on use behavior. Thus it became crucial to identify the difference in acceptance intention models per each products are as follows. Positive TR of golf-related mobile application users has a positive effect on both technology acceptance belief and acceptance intention, whereas negative TR has no statistically significant effect on technology acceptance belief nor acceptance intention.
Growth in the use of mobile commerce services (MCS) as an enabler to conduct business more effectively has been phenomenal. Technology acceptance model (TAM) has been applied in different contexts to examine a wide range of information technology. As more and more companies are finding ways to utilize MCS, an important issue is to understand what factors will affect the decisions of consumers in adopting the services. Based on TAM with two additional groups of external factors (i.e., service-related factors [ubiquitous access and contextual service] and technology-related factors [perceived security risk and network connectivity]) that are theoretically justified to affect both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, which are also considered, a research model for the investigated technology acceptance was developed and empirically examined. The major results of this study are as follows. First, ubiquitous access affects perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Contextual service affects perceived usefulness. Second, perceived security risk affects perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Finally, network connectivity affects perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use.
While the mobile application market is growing fast, the revenues of the majority apps are declining. Moreover, paid mobile application prices and purchases have been slow because of intensifying competition. However, the conventional studies focused only on the acceptance factor of mobile applications, so they cannot explain the phenomenon such as acceptance resistance for paid mobile applications. Therefore, our study tries to analyze the factors for the acceptance resistance of users for paid mobile applications. The research model in this paper, which is based on S-O-R model, verified through surveys how social influence and app characteristics affect user perception and how user perception affects to app resistance. The results of our study showed that paid mobile applications happened to be destroyed in front of the chasm because of the perceived loss. Consequently, the results implicate that the developers should lower the initial price and actively react to the negative reviews in order to lower the perceived loss. Moreover, the results verified that a sense of self-efficacy can lower application acceptance resistance by including personal properties to our research model as control variables.
