  • In mobile browser two mental models coexist; one for mobile users and the other for PC users. In this research shows that users apply these two mental models simultaneously while they use mobile browsers. However cases where these two mental models conflict with each other, rapid deterioration of usability of the UX based on the mobile user's mental model was evident. Also usability of mobile user interfaces for use cases like "View Mode" or "Copy and Send Mode" were also poor, and the research shows that these "Modes" could be substituted by gesture interaction with which users were already familiar.

  • The MPEG user description (MPEG-UD) which is a standard under exploration to ensure interoperability among customized recommendation services has been contributed since MPEG $104^{th}$ meeting at 2013. Twenty-two use cases that were divided into different applications have been proposed in the MEPG meetings. Most of use cases were referred to specific and restricted regarding to applications, it appears to miss an overall and explicit infra-structure. In this paper we describe a reference model, namely methodology to overcome aforementioned problems. Thereafter, we have applied reference model to context-based recommendation system to demonstrate the methodology and MPEG-UD schemas. In addition, we propose a development process of recommendation system in compliance with MPEG-UD.

  • Recently, Internet of Things (IoT) drives a large variety of research, development, and new type of markets. All type of devices and sensors will be part of the Internet of Things and will be able to communicate not only plain data, but also audio-visual, olfactory, and haptic media data. In addition, as the devices and sensors getting smarter, it is highly probable that they can process acquired media and metadata to extract higher level of information (e.g., semantics). To support such enhanced functionalities, ISO/IEC SC29 WG11 (MPEG) starts a new standard project, ISO/IEC 23093, called Internet of Media Things (IoMT) to provide standard data formats and APIs for media things. This paper presents the standardization activities of IoMT focusing on explaining terms, standard scopes, and major media things with their use cases. One of the use cases, an IoT system for a blind pedestrian navigation assistance, is evaluated to prove its effectiveness.

  • This paper examines the relationship between economic dependence and gender differences in housework in Korea. There are three explanatory alternatives for the relationship; economic rule of exchange, gender display perspective and deviant neutralization. We analysed both 2004 and 2009 time use survey data. The findings show the significant gender differences in time spent on housework that wives spend much more time on housework than husbands. However, among couples with non-normative gender roles, in some cases the more economically powerful wives spend more time on housework than breadwinner wives with weaker economic power, although such cases are rare. Rather, it is appropriate to conclude that, the more economically independent the wives, the less time they spend on housework; this is also the case for husbands. Overall, the Korean case shows what the economic exchange theory predicts. Thus, improvements in working wives' economic power will lead to gender equity in the division of housework.

  • The most valuable site of laser treatment is analgesic effect and fast healing process. If we understand an use this advantage correctly, it will helpful in relationship with patients and hospital management. So this study reported clinical cases about laser used in esthetic treatment with literature review. Periodontal treatment using laser was taken for patient who complain about gingival swelling during orthodontic treatment. And, esthetic plastic treatment using laser for alveoar reduction was taken for patient who complained about esthetic problem of maxillary gingiva. The treatment using laser can shorten the inconvenience and complicated treatment process and minimize patient's fear and discomfort during treatment procedure. So patients and clinicians can expect competent result in clinical cases. The laser for esthetic treatment was valuable.

  • Recently, an advanced form of blended learning, which incorporates a teaching method that focuses on flipped learning is actively used in colleges. Flipped learning is for learners to pre-learn content through videos uploaded by instructors before class, and then participate in learner-centered learning activities such as discussions and team activities in the classroom. The purpose of this paper is to review where flipped learning is being used in medical schools, and to draw implications for effective and efficient use in medical schools. For this, the definition of flipped learning, how it evolved, educational usefulness of this method of learning, and application cases in medical schools were reviewed. Through the reviews of cases of flipped learning and its positive effects, it is suggested that medical schools consider more use of flipped learning in the classroom instructions, with sensitivity to the individual medical departments' needs, environment and professors' preferences.

  • Recently many cases that using strengthening method with a steel plate or carbon-fiber sheet in a construction field are increasing. In this reason, it is demanded that developing a plan of preventing delamination of strengthening material. So in this research, for the case of strengthening method of steel plate, it is made use of notch and anchor bolt and for the case of carbon fiber sheet, it is made use of notch, anchor bolt, line anchor and shear strengthening. After all the cases were applied, we made 15 specimen beams. The beams was measured and analyzed about the behavior property of strengthened beams, the ability strengthening method, the relation between load and the shape of failure, the crack load, the yield load, the shape of crack pattern, the increasing rate from yield load and maximum load and the strain of rebar. All the strengthening methods results in almost same value until the yield load, and it wasn't quite different from the theoretical value. But for the case of increasing rate from the yield load and maximum load, comparing with the existing method, the new strengthening methods are proved to be profitable about the safety.

  • The ejector is a device which employs a high-velocity primary motive fluid to entrain and accelerate a slower moving secondary suction fluid. The resulting kinetic energy of the mixture is subsequently used for self-compression to a higher pressure, thus performing the function of a compressor. The outstanding advantages of the ejectors are simplicity and reliability. However the industrial use of ejectors has been confined mainly to very particular cases of operation. The experimental results obtained so far were insufficient to be made use of general cases. Large-sized modern ejectors, mainly driven by high powered air-compressors and designed for very wide ranges of operating conditions, cannot be based on the earlier research results, if we wish to be sure of the final outcome.

  • Automation of the key flight dynamics operations for the geostationary orbit satellite mission is analyzed and designed. The automation includes satellite orbit determination, orbit prediction, event prediction, and fuel accounting. An object-oriented analysis and design methodology is used for design of the automation system. Automation scenarios are investigated first and then the scenarios are allocated to use cases. Sequences of the use cases are diagramed. Then software components and graphical user interfaces are designed for automation. The automation will be applied to the Communication, Ocean, and Meteorology Satellite (COMS) flight dynamics system for daily routine operations.

  • MPEG-NNR (Compressed Representation of Neural Networks) aims to define a compressed and interoperable representation of trained neural networks. In this paper, a compressed representation of NN and its evaluation performance along with use cases of image/video compression in MPEG-NNR are presented. In the compression of NN, a CNN to replace the in-loop filter in VVC (Versatile Video Coding) intra coding is compressed by applying uniform quantization to reduce the trained weights, and the compressed CNN is evaluated in terms of compression ratio and coding efficiency compared to the original CNN. Evaluation results show that CNN could be compressed to about quarter with negligible coding loss by applying simple quantization to the trained weights.
