Purpose: This study was performed to develop the electronic textbook (CD-rom title) about preclinical practice of oral and maxillofacial radiology, using multimedia technology with interactive environment. Materials and Methods: After comparing the three authoring methods of multimedia, i.e. programming language, multimedia authoring tool and web authoring tool, we determined the web authoring tool as an authoring method of our electronic textbook. Intel Pentium II 350 MHz IBM-compatible personal computer with 128 Megabyte RAM, Umax Powerlook flatbed scanner with transparency unit, Olympus Camedia l400L digital camera, ESS 1686 sound card, Sony 8 mm Handycam, PC Vision 97 pro capture board, Namo web editor 3.0, Photoshop 3.0, ThumbNailer, RealPlayer 7 basic and RealProducer G2 were used for creating the text document, diagram, figure, X-ray image, video and sound files. We made use of javascripts for tree menu structure, moving text bar, link button and spread list menu and image map etc. After creating all files and hyperlinking them, we burned out the CD-rom title with all of the above multimedia data, Netscape communicator and plug in program as a prototype. Results and Conclusions : We developed the dental radiology electronic textbook which has 9 chapters and consists of 155 text documents, 26 figures, 150 X-ray image files, 20 video files, 20 sound files and 50 questions with answers. We expect that this CD-rom title can be used at the intranet and internet environments and continuous updates will be performed easily.
The purpose of this study was to explore what a science lesson using a digital textbook looked like and what kinds of implications could be drawn from the lesson. The study qualitatively described a 4th grade science lesson in the unit of Earth and Moon, analyzed the structure of the lesson, and critically interpreted the meaning of it. It was revealed that the introduction of a digital science textbook did not bring about changes in the already patternized structure of elementary science instruction as well as in the manner of classroom interaction. The result was followed by discussion concerning the ways the use of a digital textbook could change elementary science instruction and enable new types of classroom interaction. It was suggested that negotiations should be reached about the nature of digital science textbooks and their developments and that the teacher's own pedagogical roles in the science classroom should be improved.

According to the 2007 national curriculum amendment, new 'informatics' textbooks have been used since 2010 as a textbook for middle school first graders and will eventually be used in other grades. However, only a few studies that have evaluated the 'informatics' textbooks, have been performed. What is worse is the fact that none of the evaluating tools even exist. Therefore, we propose the criteria of selecting 'informatics' textbooks in middle school. Its contents can be summarized as follows: First, this paper classifies previous studies on textbook evaluation into general criteria of selecting textbooks, method of textbook analysis based on how inquisitively students can learn and previous studies which analyzed existing secondary school 'informatics' textbooks and propose the criteria of selecting 'informatics' textbooks in middle school. Second, using the proposed selection criteria for 'informatics' textbooks and other evaluation criteria, five kinds of informatics textbooks were analyzed. Furthermore, it is expected that we can use the selection criteria as a material to choose the new 'Information science' textbooks, and to suggest alternative directions of future studies in the area of evaluating 'Information science' textbooks.

We must know computer terms to use, learn, and understand efficiently. It is important for the elementary school students who learn computer for the first time to understand computer terms correctly. This study investigates a computer terms in the elementary school computer textbook which have been used currently at the elementary school, selects suitable computer terms for the elementary school student, analyzes and classifies them as a 1 2th grade, a 3 4th grade, 5 6th grade by the elementary school computer curriculum, and also classifies those as information ethics, computer basic, application software, computer communication by the category. The expectations of this study are as follows. First, the result of this offers teacher to a computer terms guidance for usability which is essential to elementary school's computer class. Second, this can be used as a reference in making a elementary computer textbook or studying and training textbook for teachers. Third, this offers teachers to an important criteria when they select a computer textbook for elementary student in elementary school.
This study was conducted as a learning project for 20 pre-third graders in high school by means of math textbooks, G+, and sample questions from previous CSAT as learning tools for 9 weeks from Dec. 24, 2015. The purpose of the study was to develop 'math textbook project learning(MtPL)', a mixed learning method combined on-line with off-line, and analyze the effects of MtPL on the affective domain of high school students. As a result of the study, it was found that MtPL had positive effects on self-efficacy and self-confidence of students, while the collaborative learning using a textbook and teacher's role worked as instrumental motivation in mathematics learning. The result also implies that the perception of high school students, who think to resolve more difficult math problems to succeed in CSAT, about mathematics learning method has to be modified. Furthermore, it is shown that the preparation of CSAT by utilizing textbook and the use of textbook in math learning have been worked positively for the students.

This paper was described to assess the possibility of field application of the developed textbooks by developing a textbook using action learning to conduct ICT electromagnetic waves training education for elementary and middle school teachers and applying it on a pilot basis. To this end, it was organized to be used in conjunction with classes in several subjects and provided various teaching materials to facilitate teachers' convenience to use the textbook. Also, the textbook was composed of a content structure of 10 sessions. As for the proposed textbook, the overall understanding of ICT electromagnetic waves was improved through pilot application in teacher training, and problem-solving ability, cooperative learning ability, democratic citizenship, and knowledge information processing ability were improved through action learning. It can be said that it contributed to improving the understanding of ICT electromagnetic waves and teachers' competencies.
This study focuses on cuisenaire rods that can be used when teaching fractions to elementary school students. First of all, this study critically examines the use of cuisenaire rods in learning of fraction proposed by various researches. Then, based on this review, this study explores in detail the use of cuisenaire rods in teachers' manuals developed from the revised curriculum by 2009 and in lessons related to fraction. The results of this study show that there are subtle differences in how to use cuisenaire rods in learning fractions and these subtle differences have a significant impact on students' understanding of the fractions. Therefore, the teachers should be able to accurately grasp the differences and utilize appropriate methods for teaching purpose. The followings are some of the implications for teachers or textbook developers when using cuisenaire rods in fraction learning: First, we should use cuisenaire rods in ways that can fully exploit the interpretations of the fraction as a part-whole and the fraction as a ratio. Second, we should focus on quantitative reasoning with unit to determine what each cuisenaire rod refers to. Third, it is necessary to take a more careful and sensitive approach to the use of cuisenaire rods. Teachers and textbook developers should constantly explore ways to make good use of mathematical manipulatives to help students understand conceptually in fractional learning. Furthermore, when teaching various mathematical topics using different manipulatives, I expect that there will be sufficient discussions and specific studies on how to use each of these manipulatives.
The main purpose of this study is to examine the use of 'a gente' in Portuguese, and to discuss what to consider educationally. We examined the origin and style of 'a gente', grammaticalization process phase, personalization level, and variations in use in terms of linguistic and social aspects, and confirmed that 'a gente' is showing an increasingly high frequency of use in Brazil. And in order to find educational considerations, we observed how 'a gente' was handled in Portuguese textbooks for foreigners, and analyzed data obtained through interviews with three Korean students studying Portuguese in Brazil. Considering the importance and frequency of use of 'a gente', which is used in the third-person singular form, the section about 'a gente' in grammar and textbooks seems to be very insufficient. Therefore, the contents of textbooks that do not correspond to the actual use of language should be actively revised according to changes in the reality of language use. In addition, the instructor should not be bound by traditional use, but must include 'a gente' in the personal pronoun section of the textbook for efficient education, and actively reflect the more practical usage to educate.

In this study, the texts of science textbooks of the past 20 years were collected in order to systematically carry out researches on scientific languages and scientific terms that have not been noticed in science education. We have collected all the science textbooks from elementary school to high school in the 6th curriculum, the 7th curriculum, and the 2009 revised curriculum, and constructed a corpus comprising of 132 textbooks in total. Sequentially, a raw corpus, a morphological annotated corpus, and a semantic annotated corpus of science terms, were constructed. The final constructed science textbook corpus was named K-STeC (Korean Science Textbook Corpus). K-STeC is a semantic annotated corpus with semantic classification and classification of scientific terms, together with meta information of bibliographic information such as curriculum, subject, grade, and publisher, location information such as chapter, section, lesson, page, and sentence, and structure information such as main, inquiry activities, reference materials, and titles. Throughout the three-year study period, a new research method was created by integrating the know-how of the three fields of linguistic informatics, computer science and science education, and a large number of experts were put in to produce labor-intensive results. This paper introduces new research methodologies and outcomes by looking at the whole research process and methods, and discusses the possibility of future development of scientific language research and how to use the results.
