  • For a knot in the 3-sphere, the Upsilon invariant is a piecewise linear function defined on the interval [0, 2]. It is known that this invariant of an L-space knot is the Legendre-Fenchel transform (or, convex conjugate) of a certain gap function derived from the Alexander polynomial. To recover an information lost in the Upsilon invariant, Kim and Livingston introduced the secondary Upsilon invariant. In this note, we prove that the secondary Upsilon invariant of an L-space knot is a concave conjugate of a restricted gap function. Also, a similar argument gives an alternative proof of the above fact that the Upsilon invariant of an L-space knot is a convex conjugate of a gap function.

  • The aim of this paper is to introduce and study the sequence spaces [w, ${\theta}$, F, p, q]$_{\infty}({\Delta}_{\upsilon}^m)$, [w, ${\theta}$, F, p, q]$_1({\Delta}_{\upsilon}^m)$ and [w, ${\theta}$, F, p, q]$_0({\Delta}_{\upsilon}^m)$, which arise from the notions of generalized difference sequence space, lacunary convergence, invariant mean and a sequence of Moduli $F=(f_k)$. We establish some inclusion relations between these spaces under some conditions.

  • Let (R, m) be a 2-dimensional regular local ring with algebraically closed residue field R/m. Let K be the quotient field of R and $\upsilon$ be a prime divisor of R, i.e., a valuation of K which is birationally dominating R and residually transcendental over R. Zariski showed that there are finitely many simple $\upsilon$-ideals $m\;=\;P_0\;{\supset}\;P_1\;{\supset}\;{\cdots}\;{\supset}\;P_t\;=\;P$ and all the other $\upsilon$-ideals are uniquely factored into a product of those simple ones [17]. Lipman further showed that the predecessor of the smallest simple $\upsilon$-ideal P is either simple or the product of two simple $\upsilon$-ideals. The simple integrally closed ideal P is said to be free for the former and satellite for the later. In this paper we describe the sequence of simple $\upsilon$-ideals when P is satellite of order 3 in terms of the invariant $b_{\upsilon}\;=\;|\upsilon(x)\;-\;\upsilon(y)|$, where $\upsilon$ is the prime divisor associated to P and m = (x, y). Denote $b_{\upsilon}$ by b and let b = 3k + 1 for k = 0, 1, 2. Let $n_i$ be the number of nonmaximal simple $\upsilon$-ideals of order i for i = 1, 2, 3. We show that the numbers $n_{\upsilon}$ = ($n_1$, $n_2$, $n_3$) = (${\lceil}\frac{b+1}{3}{\rceil}$, 1, 1) and that the rank of P is ${\lceil}\frac{b+7}{3}{\rceil}$ = k + 3. We then describe all the $\upsilon$-ideals from m to P as products of those simple $\upsilon$-ideals. In particular, we find the conductor ideal and the $\upsilon$-predecessor of the given ideal P in cases of b = 1, 2 and for b = 3k + 1, 3k + 2, 3k for $k\;{\geq}\;1$. We also find the value semigroup $\upsilon(R)$ of a satellite simple valuation ideal P of order 3 in terms of $b_{\upsilon}$.

  • We have investigated the structure of the general relativistic polytrope(G.R.P.) of n=5. The numerical solutions of the general relativistic Lane-Emden functions ${\upsilon}\;and\;{\theta}$ for the ratio of the central pressure to the central density ${\sigma}=0.1$, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.8333 are plotted graphically. We may summarize the results as follows: 1. As the invariant radius $\bar{\xi}$ increases, the numerical value of the mass parameter ${\upsilon}$ does not approach toward the assymptotic limit, as it does in the classical case $({\upsilon}{\sim}{\sqrt{3}})$, but it increases continuously with progressively smaller rate as compared with the classical case. 2. When $\bar{\xi}$ is less than ${\sim}5.5$, the value of the density function ${\theta}$ drops more rapidly than the classical one, whereas when $\bar{\xi}$ is greater than ${\sim}5.5$, ${\theta}$ becomes greater than the classical value. For the greater values of ${\sigma}$ these phenomena become significant. 3. From the above results it is expected that the equilibrium mass of the G.R.P. of n=5 must be larger than the classical masse $({\sqrt{3}})$ and the mass is more dispersed than the classical configuration (i.e. equilibrium with infinite radius).

  • For c > -1, let ${\nu}_c$ denote a weighted radial measure on ${\mathbb{C}}$ normalized so that ${\nu}_c(D)=1$. For $c_1,c_2>-1$ and $f{\in}L^1(D^2,\;{\nu}_{c_1}{\times}{\nu}_{c_2})$, we define the weighted Berezin transform $B_{c_1,c_2}f$ on $D^2$ by $$(B_{c_1,c_2})f(z,w)={\displaystyle{\smashmargin2{\int\nolimits_D}{\int\nolimits_D}}}f({\varphi}_z(x),\;{\varphi}_w(y))\;d{\nu}_{c_1}(x)d{\upsilon}_{c_2}(y)$$. This paper is about the space $M^p_{c_1,c_2}$ of function $f{\in}L^p(D^2,\;{\nu}_{c_1}{\times}{\nu}_{c_2})$ ) satisfying $B_{c_1,c_2}f=f$ for $1{\leq}p<{\infty}$. We find the identity operator on $M^p_{c_1,c_2}$ by using invariant Laplacians and we characterize some special type of functions in $M^p_{c_1,c_2}$.
