  • To successfully establish the ELID-grinding, it is important to properly select the electrolytic condition according to grinding conditions. Currently, the selection of electrolytic condition is mainly dependent on the operators experience, which is one of difficulties preventing the successful application of ELID technique. In this study, an in-process measurement system of the insulating layer using two gap sensors-a capacitance type and an eddy current type-are developed and the change of the thickness of insulating layer during ELID grinding is detected. Evaluation experiments show the possibility to control the electrolytic condition through the in-process measurement of the layer status.

  • Nonlinear time series prediction is derived and compared between statistic of modeling and neural network method. In particular mean squared errors of predication are obtained in generalized random coefficient model and generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic model and compared with them by neural network forecasting.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of ego-resilience and compassion satisfaction on professor trust in nursing students. This was a descriptive survey that one hundred and sixty-one first- to fourth-year students of a university in D city who signed an informed consent form to participate in this study were enrolled. The collected data were analyzed using regression analysis. The regression was performed using peer relations, ego-resilience, and compassion satisfaction as the predicting variables. The results showed that peer relations (β=0.142, p=.020), ego-resilience (β=0.322, p<.001), and compassion satisfaction (β=.370, p<.001) predicted professor trust, and they explained 31.1% of the variance. Therefore, it is suggested to develop interventions to improve professor trust through school-year-specific counseling that enhances nursing students' ego-resilience and compassion satisfaction.

  • This is an interview with Professor Kwang-Hyung Lee, founding Dean of KAIST Moon Soul Graduates School of Future Strategy and founder of the Department of Bio and Brain Engineering of the same university casting two questions about academics. The first question is what pattern is desirable in the evolution of research topics of an academics. While traditional researchers in science and engineering tend to focus on one subject in ever greater depth over time, Professor Lee's research agenda has spanned several new topics by gradually changing the content of the study: from artificial intelligence to bio and brain research, and to creativity development method, further to future study. The second question is about researchers' social responsibility. He has devoted to contributes to industry fields and the nation through academic activities as well as educating several successful business people, founding a new academic department and graduate school of future studies.

  • Fast Fourier Transformation is employed to convert the head variation of a pipeline in the time domain to the amplitude of the frequency domain. Applying method of characteristics to a pipeline provides a significant frequency range for a surge introduced from the valve modulation. Inverse Fast Fourier Transformation and a Finite Impulse Response Filter can be used to remove any possible noise existing from the significant frequency range of an unsteady condition. A filtered signal shows higher potential for the inverse calculation of leakage detection than the noise-added signal does. The respective performances of Inverse Fast Fourier Transformation and a Finite Impulse Response Filter are compared in terms of leakage detection capability. Characteristics of the frequency range for multiple leakages were investigated to validate the effectiveness of the noise control method in the frequency domain.

  • This study introduces and empirically test the validity of Bass model that helps demand forecasting of new game products. The application of Bass model to new game products show that Bass model predicts the demand of new game accurately. In particular, it showed very good predictability of on-line game products.

  • We investigate some properties of commonly used residual plots in linear regression and provide some systematic insight into the relationships among the plots. We discuss three issues of linear regression in this stream of context. First of all we introduce two graphical comparison methods to display the variance inflation factor. Secondly we show that the role of a suppressor variable in linear regression can be checked graphiclly. Finally we show that several other types of standardized regression coefficients besides the ordinary one can be obtained in residual plots and the correlation coefficients of one of these residual plots can be used in ranking the relative importance of variables.

  • Purpose: The paper presents research that examine relationship difference education quality, satisfaction, loyalty in university education sector. Specifically, the effects of difference education quality on student satisfaction and loyalty in the context of education quality are examined. Methods: A model of difference education quality effect on student satisfaction and loyalty is introduced and tested in the university using student perceptions of provider. Questionnaire was developed, and data was collected and analyzed for this study with SEM(Structural Equation Modeling). Results: The results are as follows: Education capability, BNIE(Business Newspaper In Education) are significantly influenced on student satisfaction. In addition, student satisfaction is significantly influence on external customer satisfaction, professor image. Professor image is significantly influence on student loyalty. Conclusion: Upon learning of student need and want, professor can focus on development of difference education quality based on student need and want.

  • Professor's role is one of various ways to improve students' academic achievement. Professors can be role models for students, motivate them to achieve higher performance, and have various influences on them. Therefore, depending on professor's role, students' attitudes and behaviors may be different, and their academic achievements may also be different. In this regard, this research focused on the intellectual growth that can be regarded as Chinese students' academic achievement. Thus, the importance of professor's intellectual stimulation behavior was emphasized and it was clarified as a way to improve the intellectual growth. Furthermore, students with a higher level of growth need strength, they are more likely to have higher intellectual growth because they put a premium on their self-growth. In order to increase the influence of professor's intellectual stimulation, we focused on the student's growth need strength. Thus, this research examined the moderating effect of growth need strength between intellectual stimulation and intellectual growth. The results showed that intellectual stimulation improved intellectual growth. In addition, growth need strength positively moderated the relationship between intellectual stimulation and intellectual growth. Therefore, it suggested the implications that professors should behave appropriate behavior according to students' personal characteristics.
