The purpose of this study was to develop the modular multimedia instructional materials emphasizing the particulate nature on the realm of matter in elementary science classes. Features of the material are as follows: 1 To be in focus on particulate model named 'phenomenal magnifying glasses' in order to change the student's belief system of continuous matter into the belief system of particulate matter . The 'phenomenal magnifying glasses' is a new instructional strategy designed to change into the view of particulate matter through facilitating the reflective thinking resulted from the simultaneous consideration of experimental phenomena(macroscopic world) and particulate model(microscopic world). 2. To introduce modular system into the instructional materials, which was consisted of 14 subunits according to the sequential instruction unit of 'molecule and molecular motion'. Each subunit was composed of 5 types of modules(module 1: motivation, module 2: experimental result, module 3: discussion, module 4: phenomenal magnifying glasses, module 5: related experiment) 3. The multimedia program was composed of 36 kinds of experimental animation and 59 kinds of computer animation materials combined with text resources, photographic materials and sounds.
Since the late 20C, a lot of fashion designers have considered about new construction system in fashion. Many arguments about architectural form and construction system have being supported on enlargement of range of functionalism fashion through the consideration about new shape and combination among various any other spheres. Modular concept, which is able to divide complex construction of integration into separated basic unit and use various and liberal arrangements, is regarded alternative idea of economic construction that creates new shape and constructive beauty through the simple operation and changing combination continuously. Specially, fashion designs of Yoehlee Teng, John Ribber, and Galya Rosenfeld are estimated that they are effectively utilized architectural modular system pursuing multi-function and multi-change in fashion. Modular system utilized in fashion construction will be classified as follows: 1) layering system of Yoehlee Teng, 2) combine system of john Ribber, and 3) lego system of Galya Rosenfeld. This thesis will presents beneficial guide for simple and practical functionalism fashion design development in 21C.
This study attempted to explore the MC design methods of modular construction using discontinuous double module grids and further, the design methods of walls. Modular construction is generally characterized with multiple units called modules with a module dimension of 3M(300mm) appearing in the form of double grids. The discontinuous double grids including correction values and gap values occurs inevitably in the modular construction where units are joined horizontally. Therefore, it is desirable to carry out the MC design taking into account these discontinuous double grids. In this study, the MC design was applied to the plane of wooden houses in modular construction, going through a process of setting the size of pillars and inside dimensions, of determining the dimension of discontinuous double grids that occur during the assembly of units, and of setting the dimension of outer walls in conjunction with the derived dimensions. The dimension of outer walls was applied differently depending on the range of regional use by analyzing the energy performance with the materials used. Consequently, the materials and components of factory-produced buildings can be used directly without processing, and the suitability of the outer wall design can be pre-determined by previewing the calculation of the cross-sectional configuration and heat transmission coefficients of outer walls in modular construction, allowing to be used as a decision-making tool of design.
Most of the software reliability models are based on black box approach and these models consider the entire software system as a single unit. Present day software development process has changed a lot. In present scenario these models may not give better results. To overcome this problem an improved additive model has been proposed in this paper, to estimate the reliability of software with modular structure. Also the concept of imperfect debugging has been also considered. A maximum likelihood estimation technique has been used for estimating the model parameters. Comparison has been made with an existing model. ${\chi}^2$ goodness of fit has been used for model fitting. The proposed model has been validated using real data.
Even though many modular converters have several internal protection circuit blocks for various abnormal operation conditions, there are many failure cases on modular converters at real applications. In this paper, the control strategy for failure protection of converters with internal 'In-Hibit' function is investigated. As an example, for the MDl modular converters the in-hibit function application is realized and the test results shows that adopting in-hibit function while converter switching reduces the voltage and current stress. And the reduction of switching stress on converter will decrease failure rate on converters.
Recently, high-rise building projects have been in the spotlight in South Korea. Curtain wall construction, as one of important operations in the high-rise building projects is composed of various, entangled and complex unit processes that require a systematic planning to prevent unexpected delays. A schedule simulation technique has been used for deriving more efficient planning and accurate performance measurement. However, the simulation technique has difficulty in collecting actual data and in applying data fluctuations during construction. Thus, this paper suggests a concept model of Modular Simulation Model(MSM) that overcomes such limitations of traditional simulation technique based on curtain wall operations.
Purpose: Prefabricated modular space such as a container construction has recently been interested unlike the conventional construction method, and their scale have expanded from small buildings such as cafes, houses and pensions to shopping centers, complex cultural spaces where shows and exhibitions are possible doing. In this way, the container is in the spotlight as an advantage such as mobility, flexibility, correspondence, economic efficiency, recyclability and so on. However, there are no specific guidelines and standard design methods in aspects of structural calculation, functional insulation and environmental configuration. Therefore, as the first step to resolve these problems, this study has focused on the field of environmental performance of container construction, presented appropriate guidelines and searched ways to improve performances. Method: For this study, seven types of the modular building were chosen and compared, and their energy performances have been analyzed using a proven simulation tool. Essential methodology and terminology were examined to estimate and judge their efficiency. Result: In conclusion, energy performances depend on specific configuration of combined unit spaces, and design guidelines cold be set up for promoting their use in the practical field.
