QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS OF ABR-FRACTIONAL VOLTERRA-FREDHOLM SYSTEM

  • In this work, we explore the existence and uniqueness results for a class of boundary value issues for implicit Volterra-Fredholm nonlinear integro-differential equations (IDEs) with Atangana-Baleanu-Riemann fractional (ABR-fractional) that have non-instantaneous multi-point fractional boundary conditions. The findings are supported by Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem, Gronwall-Bellman inequality, and the Banach contraction principle. Finally, a demonstrative example is provided to support our key findings.

  • Derivative analysis, based on the derivative of the drawdown as a function of time (i.e., rate of drawdown change), was applied to the evaluation of hydraulic parameters of the aquifer as an aid of the aquifer test interpretation based on the Theis solutions. Pumping tests were conducted at a coastal fractured aquifer in Muan county, Korea, of which the drawdown data, measured at the two observation wells, were used for derivative analysis. Wellbore storage and transition period were hard to identify at conventional log-log and semi long plots, but was easily recognized by distinctive curves of positive unit slope, hump and negative unit slope in the derivative plot. For the observation well of OW-2 at which wellbore storage and transition lasted over an hour, conventional aquifer analysis would suffer from the uniqueness problems and in further result in erroneous hydraulic parameters. Derivative analysis was found to be effective for distinguishing the drawdown data directly reflecting the aquifer property from those reflecting non aquifer effects such as wellbore storage and transition, which offers a unified methodology to yield correct hydraulic parameters from aquifer test data.

  • In this paper, we consider the Robin-Dirichlet problem for a nonlinear wave equation of Kirchhoff-Carrier type with a viscoelastic term. Using the Faedo-Galerkin method and the linearization method for nonlinear terms, the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution are proved. An asymptotic expansion of high order in a small parameter of a weak solution is also discussed.

  • In this paper, we study the initial value problem for neutral functional differential equations involving Caputo fractional derivative of order ${\alpha}{\in}(0,1)$ with infinite delay. Some sufficient conditions for the uniqueness and continuous dependence of solutions are established by virtue of fractional calculus and Banach fixed point theorem. Some results obtained showed that the solution was closely related to the conditions of delays and minor changes in the problem. An example is provided to illustrate the main results.

  • In this paper, we consider the optimal control problem based on Discrete Event Dynamic Systems(DEDS) in the Temporal Logic framework(TLF) which have studied for a convenient modeling technique. The TLF is enhanced with objective functions(event cost indices) and a measurement space is also defined. Our research goal is the design of the optimal controller for DEDSs. This procedure could be guided by the heuristic search methods. For the heuristic search, we suggested the Stochastic Ruler algorithm, instead of the A algorithm with difficulties as following; the uniqueness of solutions, the computational complexity and how to select a heuristic function. This SR algorithm is used for solving the optimal problem. An example is shown to illustrate our results.

  • A DEDS is a system whose states change in response to the occurence of events from a predefined event set. In this paper, we consider the optimal control and reasoning problem for Discrete Event Systems(DES) in the Temporal Logic Framework(TEL) which have been recnetly defined. The TLE is enhanced with objective functions(event cost indices) and a measurement space is alos deined. A sequence of event which drive the system form a give initial state to a given final state is generated by minimizing a cost functioin index. Our research goal is the reasoning of optimal trajectory and the design of the optimal controller for DESs. This procedure could be guided by the heuristic search methods.   • In this paper, we consider the existence of nontrivial solutions for the nonlinear fractional differential equation boundary-value problem(BVP) $-D_0^{\alpha}+u(t)=\lambda[f(t, u(t))+q(t)]$, 0 < t < 1 u(0) = u(1) = 0, where $\lambda$ > 0 is a parameter, 1 < $\alpha$ $\leq$ 2, $D_{0+}^{\alpha}$ is the standard Riemann-Liouville differentiation, f : [0, 1] ${\times}{\mathbb{R}}{\rightarrow}{\mathbb{R}}$ is continuous, and q(t) : (0, 1) $\rightarrow$ [0, $+\infty$] is Lebesgue integrable. We obtain serval sufficient conditions of the existence and uniqueness of nontrivial solution of BVP when $\lambda$ in some interval. Our approach is based on Leray-Schauder nonlinear alternative. Particularly, we do not use the nonnegative assumption and monotonicity which was essential for the technique used in almost all existed literature on f.

  • This paper is concerned with a boundary control problem for the vorticity minimization, in which the flow is governed by the stationary two dimensional Stokes equations. We wish to find a mathematical formulation and a relevant process for an appropriate control along the part of the boundary to minimize the vorticity due to the flow. After showing the existence and uniqueness of an optimal solution, we derive the optimality conditions. The differentiability of the state solution in regard to the control parameter shall be conjunct with the necessary conditions for the optimal solution. For the minimizer, an algorithm based on the conjugate gradient method shall be proposed.

  • A Requirement statement validation process is suggested which was established and applied to the rolling stock development project of the Korean Railway Research Institute. The validation process includes team organization, selection of validation criteria, development of validation template, education of team members, validation, construction of database and management of requirement change. Many defects in the specification of requirement were found to be associated with the problem of non-uniqueness, describing solution instead of problem, ambiguity and redundancy. This paper described detailed activities at each step of the validation process and lessons learned from these activities.
