  • This paper describes a simulation model and a scaled hardware model to analyze the dynamic performance of Unified Power Flow Controller, which can flexibly adjust the active and reactive power flow through the ac transmission line. The design of control system was developed using vector control method. The results of simulation and scaled hardware test show that the developed control system works accurately. And both models are very effective to analyze the dynamic performance of the Unified Power Flow Controller.

Analysis of composite plates using various plate theories -Part 2: Finite element model and numerical results

  • Finite element models and numerical results are presented for bending and natural vibration using the unified third-order plate theory developed in Part 1 of this paper. The unified third-order theory contains the classical, first-order, and other third-order plate theories as special cases. Analytical solutions are developed using the Navier and L$\acute{e}$vy solution procedures (see Part 1 of the paper). Displacement finite element models of the unified third-order theory are developed herein. The finite element models are based on $C^0$ interpolation of the inplane displacements and rotation functions and $C^1$ interpolation of the transverse deflection. Numerical results of bending and natural vibration are presented to evaluate the accuracy of various plate theories.

  • In this paper we develop the web-based unified randomized response system for obtaining more reliable response to the sensitive characteristic such as a crime of violence at home, and a bribing and so on. This survey system embody to apply with from the classical to recently research, for example from the Warner's model to the 2-stage model. In addition, our survey system is able to link between the typical and the randomized response system. Finally, our survey system looks into a variation according to various sensitive questions as well as it can be used for a single question.

  • This paper describes a Unified Chassis Control (UCC) strategy to prevent vehicle rollover by integrating individual modular chassis control systems such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Continuous Damping Control (CDC). The UCC threshold is determined from a rollover index computed by estimated roll angle, roll rate and measured lateral acceleration. A direct yaw moment control method is used to design the ESC based on a 2-D bicycle model. Similarly, the CDC is designed based on a 2-D roll model using a direct roll moment control method. The performance of the proposed UCC scheme is investigated and compared to that of modular chassis controllers through computer simulations using a validated vehicle simulator. It is shown that the proposed the UCC can lead to improvements in vehicle stability and efficient actuation of chassis control systems.

  • Certain structural components are exposed to high temperatures. At high temperature, under thermal and mechanical loading, metal components exhibit both creep and plastic behavior. The unified constitutive theory is to model both the time-dependent behavior(creep) and the time-independent behavior(plasticity) in one set of equations. Microscopically both creep and plasticity are controlled by the motion of dislocations. A finite element method is presented encorporating a unified constitutive model for the transient analysis of viscoplastic behavior of structures exposed to high temperature.

  • Nowadays an information exchange on XML such as B2B electronic commerce is spreading. Therefore the systematic and stable management mechanism for storing the exchanged information is needed. For this goal there are many research activities for connection between XML application and relational database. But because XML data have hierarchical structures and relational database can store only flat-structured data, we need to make the conversion rule which changes the hierarchical architecture to 2-dimensional information. Accordingly the modeling methodology for storing each structured information in relational database is needed. In this paper, we introduce a XML modeling methodology to design W3C XML schema using UML and we propose a unified design methodology for relational database schema to store XML data efficiently in relational databases. In the second place, in order to verify objectivity of a unified design methodology. By the way of Ronald Bourret, First we introduce the method of the transformation from XML schema to object model and second we translate object model into relational database schema. Therefore we show the mutual consistency between those consequence, and so can verify a unified design methodology.

Nonlinear analysis and design of concrete-filled dual steel tubular columns under axial loading

  • A new unified design formula for calculating the composite compressive strength of the axially loaded circular concrete filled double steel tubular (CFDST) short and slender columns is presented in this paper. The formula is obtained from the analytic solution by using the limit equilibrium theory, the cylinder theory and the "Unified theory" under axial compression. Furthermore, the stability factor of CFDST slender columns is derived on the basis of the Perry-Robertson formula. This paper also reports the results of experiments and finite element analysis carried out on concrete filled double steel tubular columns, where the tested specimens include short and slender columns with different steel ratio and yield strength of inner tube; a new constitutive model for the concrete confined by both the outer and inner steel tube is proposed and incorporated in the finite element model developed. The comparisons among the finite element results, experimental results, and theoretical predictions show a good agreement in predicting the behavior and strength of the concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) columns with or without inner steel tubes. An important characteristic of the new formulas is that they provide a unified formulation for both the plain CFST and CFDST columns relating to the compressive strength or the stability bearing capacity and a set of design parameters.

  • RUP(Rational Unified Process)의 Unified Process Model 에는 Use Case Model, Analysis Model, Design Model, Deployrnent Model, Implementation model, Test Model의 6가지 모델이 있다. 이 모델들은 다음단계의 모델에 대한 일관성 및 의존성을 가진다. 한 모델에서 발생되는 요소들은 전, 후 단계에서 다른 모델들과 Trace Dependencies 를 갖는다. 이러한 의존적인 관계들은 각각의 요소들 사이의 진행, 기록 관계를 나타낸다. 그러나 대부분의 시스템은 이러한 관계 및 의존성 없이 설계되어져 전체적인 일관성을 이루지 못 하였다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 관계를 유지 하면서 사용자의 요구사항에 일관성 있는 Use Case 모델을 설계하고자 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 대학 종합정보시스템 구축의 일부분인 구매관리 시스템을 분석하여 컴포넌트 시스템 모델을 제시한다.

Scale Development for Youth Obesity Prevention and Unified Validity Test through the Health Belief Model-I (건강신념모형을 적용한 청소년 비만예방척도개발과 통합적 타당도검증-I)

  • The purpose of the present study is to apply a health belief model to the serious perception of an increase in youth obesity, and to develop and validate a measurement tool for youth obesity prevention among this group who are experiencing increasing rates of obesity. The specific goals of this study are to 1) apply a health belief model to develop a measurement tool for obesity prevention among youth who are seeing rising rates of obesity, and 2) provide an integrated validation procedure and foundation for developing this measurement tool. A total of 1801 high school students[sample1: 902(male:464,female:438); sample2: 899(male:464,female:438)] were recruited and collected data from 12 high school in Seoul and Kyonggi area. For this study the analytic framework of unified validity was developed which can comprehensively reflect unified validity be Messick(1995), framework for conducting a strong program of construct validation by Benson(1998), the unified validity implementation method of Rasch model suggested by Wolfe and Smith(2007a, 2007b). Furthermore, after dividing the developed analytic framework into each stage(the substantive domain), the evidence of validity of Youth Obesity Prevention Scale(YOPS) applying Health Belief Model was systematically suggested. The YOPS suggested the evidence about the substantive domain of unified validity. The developed YOPS was consist of Susceptibility, Severity, Benefits, Barriers and Cues to Action. After 3 stage in substantive domain, the components of YOPS(5factors and 28items) satisfied the unidimensionality, and the 5 point Likert scale had the significant discrimination of the respondents' response.
