Survey research, data is commonly collected through a sample design with complex design features that allow the relative efficiency on the precision of an estimator to be measured using the concept of the design effect compared to simple random sampling as a reference design. This concept is most useful when the design effect can be expressed as a function of various design features. We propose a design effect formula suitable under a stratified multistage sampling by generalizing Gabler et al. (1999, 2006)'s approaches for multistage sampling. Its use can either guide improvement in the design efficiency when in design stage or enable the evaluation of the adopted design features afterwards.
It has long been of controversy what the meanings of probability is. And a century has past after the mathematical probability has been at the center of the school curriculum of it. Recently statistical meaning of probability becomes important for various reasons. However the simple modification of its definition is not enough. The computational reasoning of the probability and its practical application needs didactical changes and new instructional transformations along with the modification of it. Most of the current text books introduce probability as a limit of the relative frequencies, a statistical probability. But when the probability computation of the union of two events, or of the simultaneous events is faced on, they use mathematical probability for explanation and practices. Accordingly there is a gap for students in understanding those. Probability is an intuitive concept as far as it belongs to the domain of the experiential frequency. And frequency distribution must be the instructional bases for the (statistical) probability novices. This is what we mean by the probability in accordance with the distribution concepts. First of all, in order to explain the probability of the complementary event we should explain the empirical relative frequency of it first. These are the case for the union of two events and for the simultaneous events. Moreover we need to provide a logic of probabilistic guesses, inferences and decision, which we introduce with the name “the likelihood principle”, the most famous statistical principle. The purposes of this study are to classify the characteristics of parks by park use patterns and the understanding of design concepts and to analyze the difference of cognition of design concept between designers and park users. The literature studies and surveys were performed to analyze park use patterns and understanding of design concepts for Seoul Forest Park, Yeouido Park and Seonyudo Park. Several statistical methods have been used such as descriptive analysis and importance-performance analysis. The results of this research are as follows. As the results of an analysis of park use patterns, Seonyudo Park may he qualified as an urban landmark park, while Yeouido Park can he classified as a neighborhood park. Seoul Forest Park bas characteristics of both. Second, the higher frequency of visits generally leads higher preference. Third, the overall cognition of the design concepts of parks shows 3.51 on average, which is comparatively high. The functional concepts are better transmitted to the users compared to abstract concepts. The cognition of the design concepts of each park are evaluated in the higher order of Seonyudo Park, Seoul Forest Park and Yeouido Park. Fourth, the cognition levels of detailed design concepts for each place are lower than the overall design concepts. On the other hand, levels of satisfaction are increased after the design concepts are noticed. It would he necessary make the effort to give information about the design concept of each space. The results of this study are limited in that it covers only three parks in Seoul, and did not consider seasonal variables. Nevertheless, this study may he significant in that it dealt with the cognition of design concepts for urban parks, focusing on the difference between designers and visitors.

Arabic skills are the tools by which children are prepared for the educational procedures on which their life depends. Deaf and hard of hearing students (DHH), must be able to grasp the same Arabic terms as hearing students and their different meanings in a context of different sentences less than what they are supposed to be due to their inability. However, problems arise in the same Arabic word and their different meanings in a context for (DHH) students since the way of comprehending such words does not meet the needs and circumstances of (DHH) students. Therefore, researchers introduce web-based method for Arabic words and their meanings in a context prototype that can overcome those problems. Methodology: The study sample consists of 30 (DHH) students at Al Amal City of Palestine, Gaza Region (GR). Those participants that agreed to take part in this study were recruited using a purposeful sampling method. Additionally, to examine the survey information descriptively, the Statistical Packages for social Sciences (SPSS) version 24.0 was used. A sign language teaching movie is utilized in the prototype to standardize the process and verify that Arabic vocabulary and their implications are comprehended. The Evolutionary Process Model of Prototype technique was utilized to create this system. Finding: The findings of this study show that the prototype built is workable and has the ability to help DHHS differentiate between phrases that have the same letters but distinct meanings. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to a better understanding and application of Development of Web-based Arabic Assessments for (DHH) Students in developing countries, which will help to increase the use of Development of Web-based Arabic for (HDD) students in those countries. The empirical models of Web-based Arabic for (DHH) students are established as a proof of concept for the proposed model. The results of this study are predicted to have a significant impact to the information system practitioners and to the body of knowledge.
Background: Korean Working Conditions Surveys (KWCS), referencing European Working Conditions Surveys, have been conducted three times in order to survey working condition and develop work-related policies. However, we found three limitations for managing the collected KWCS data: (1) there was no computerized system for managing data; (2) statistical KWCS data were provided by limited one-way communication; and (3) the concept of a one-time provision of information was pursued. We suggest a web-based public service system that enables ordinary people to make greater use of the KWCS data, which can be managed constantly in the future. Methods: After considering data characteristics, we designed a database, which was able to have the result of all pairwise combinations with two extracted data to construct an analysis system. Using the data of the social network for each user, the tailored analysis system was developed. This system was developed with three methods: clustering and classification for building a social network, and an infographic method for improving readability through a friendly user interface. Results: We developed a database including one input entity consisting of the sociodemographic characteristics and one output entity consisting of working condition characteristics, such as working pattern and work satisfaction. A web-based public service system to provide tailored contents was completed. Conclusion: This study aimed to present a customized analysis system to use the KWCS data efficiently, provide a large amount of data in a form that can give users a better understanding, and lay the ground for helping researchers and policy makers understand the characteristics.

The concepts of sample and sampling are central to make a statistically correct decision, so we need to be emphasized their importance in the statistics education. Nevertheless, there were not enough studies which discuss how to teach the concepts of sample and sampling. In this study, teaching sample and sampling is addressed by foreign curricula and cases of instruction in order to obtain suggestions for teaching sample and sampling. In particular, the curricular of Australia, New Zealand, England and the United States are analyzed, considering the sample representativeness and the sampling variability; the two elements in the concept of sample. Also foreign textbooks and cases of instruction when it comes to teach sample are analyzed. The results say that with respect to teach sample can be divided into four suggestions: first, sample was taught in the process of statistical inquiry such as data collection, analysis, and results. Second, sample was introduced earlier than Korea curriculum. Third, when it comes to teach sample, sample variability, as well as sample representativeness was considered. Fourth, technological tools were used to enhance understanding sample.

The purpose of this study is to analyze whether, in public organizations, a significant relationship can be found between transparency and information disclosure systems. The study also aims to analyze how the relationship has changed and whether political regimes and organization type matter for such changes. The meaning of information disclosure and the concept of transparency were reviewed through existing literature, the status of which was analyzed using related statistical data. Using a decade of disclosure rate and integrity index data from 2003 to 2013, the correlation between those two variables by political regimes and organization type was analyzed. To improve the information disclosure system and transparency in public organizations, ensuring the documentation of work process, providing the consumer with the information that he/she wants, and institutionalizing systems to evaluate transparency are important. The results of this study will be used as a basic material for understanding the relationship between the information disclosure system and transparency.
In this paper appears that in this extremely attractive and growing services segment, academics, as well as practitioners, would benefit from investigating the relationships among the players' loyalty, word of mouth and flow, and the impacts of several other key game-related constructs on consumer behavioral intentions. A conceptual framework is proposed and a structural equation model is developed. This paper develops the exploratory LISREL model for identifying the factors affecting the players' loyalty for some specific brand of online games. The concept of flow, feedback, challenge, etc, are all introduced into the model, as the independent variables affecting the loyalty directly and indirectly. Statistical results show that depending upon the types of games, the configuration of structural equation model is a little different from each other, but overall results are very much intuitive in that challenge positively enforces flow, and flow strengthens loyalty. Other interesting results concerning game development strategy are also provided. It is hoped that this result might provide the useful guidelines for developing the successful online game contents. With a better understanding of the players' behavioral intentions, online game developers should be able to make adjustments in their development and marketing plans, providing them with a sustainable advantage over their competition.
The purpose of this research is to investigate how elementary school students execute sampling with what designs in order to gather information under a situation that requires collecting data and information about their household and everyday life, and to examine how they use tools, including table or graph, etc., in order to perform efficient analysis of data and information they surveyed, also what results they acquire. To test this, the researcher set up a situation in advance that requires collecting data, and, under this circumstance, the researcher instructed and guided school students to look for methods how to design and survey in order to gather data by having them discuss tasks, involving small groups or entire class, and seek its solutions by themselves through trial and errors. The results from surveys revealed that a lesson, which will have students do sampling and arrange statistical data and analyze the results, was possible to carry out in the class of 6th grade of elementary school.
This study is the first step for us toward improving high school students' capability of statistical inferences, such as obtaining and interpreting the confidence interval on the population mean that is currently learned in high school. We suggest 5 underlying concepts of 'discretion of contingency and inevitability', 'discretion of induction and deduction', 'likelihood principle', 'variability of a statistic' and 'statistical model', those are necessary to appreciate statistical inferences as a reliable arguing tools in spite of its occasional erroneous conclusions. We assume those 5 concepts above are to be gradually developing in their school periods and Korean mathematics textbooks of grades 1-12 were analyzed. Followings were found. For the right choice of solving methodology of the given problem, no elementary textbook but a few high school textbooks describe its difference between the contingent circumstance and the inevitable one. Formal definitions of population and sample are not introduced until high school grades, so that the developments of critical thoughts on the reliability of inductive reasoning could not be observed. On the contrary of it, strong emphasis lies on the calculation stuff of the sample data without any inference on the population prospective based upon the sample. Instead of the representative properties of a random sample, more emphasis lies on how to get a random sample. As a result of it, the fact that 'the random variability of the value of a statistic which is calculated from the sample ought to be inherited from the randomness of the sample' could neither be noticed nor be explained as well. No comparative descriptions on the statistical inferences against the mathematical(deductive) reasoning were found. Few explanations on the likelihood principle and its probabilistic applications in accordance with students' cognitive developmental growth were found. It was hard to find the explanation of a random variability of statistics and on the existence of its sampling distribution. It is worthwhile to explain it because, nevertheless obtaining the sampling distribution of a particular statistic, like a sample mean, is a very difficult job, mere noticing its existence may cause a drastic change of understanding in a statistical inference.
