Sixteen strains of marine rotifer, Braohionus plicatilis were isolated from salt pond, estuary and lagoon. Among 16 strains, 2 strains were large (L)-type and the others were small (S) or ultra small (US)-type. Four strains of fresh water rotifer, B. calyciflorus were isolated from commercial fish ponds. The size of lorica and resting egg were measured. In B. plicatilis, the range of lorica length from S-type and S-type were $244.3{\~}255.3\;{\mu}m$ and $131.0{\~}165.8\;{\mu}m$, respectively. The major axis of resting egg in the marine rotifer were $93.7\~116.4\;{\mu}m$ for S-type and $142.4{\~}145.5\;{mu}m$ for L-type, respectively. In freshwater rotifer, B. calyciflorus, the size range of lorica and major axis of resting egg were $211.8\~229.9\;{\mu}m$ and $126.8\~140.2\;{mu}m$, respectively. The size of freshwater rotifer was larger than that of S-type marine rotifer, but smaller than that of L-type one. Growth and formation of resting egg of B. plicatilis were different among the strains. The maximum density of S-type and L-type rotifer was 753.3 inds./ml for H-S strain and 220 inds./ml for O-L strain, respectively. The largest production of resting egg of S-type and L-type rotifer were 86.7 inds./ml for YY-S strain and 45.8 inds./ml for O-L strain, respectively.

The concept of “precision agriculture” or “site-specific farming” is usually confined to the fields of soil science, crop science and agronomy. However, because plants grow in soil, animals eat plants, and humans eat animal products, it could be argued (perhaps with some poetic licence) that the fields of feed quality, animal nutrition and animal production should also be considered in this context. NIR spectroscopy has proved over the last 20 years that it can provide a firm foundation for quality measurement across all of these fields, and with the continuing developments in instrumentation, computer capacity and software, is now a major cog in the wheel of precision agriculture. There have been a few giant leaps and a lot of small steps in the impact of NIR on the animal world. These have not been confined to the amazing advances in hardware and software, although would not have occurred without them. Rapid testing of forages, grains and mixed feeds by NIR for nutritional value to livestock is now commonplace in commercial laboratories world-wide. This would never have been possible without the pioneering work done by the USDA NIR Forage Research Network in the 1980's, following the landmark paper of Norris et al. in 1976. The advent of calibration transfer between instruments, algorithms which utilize huge databases for calibration and prediction, and the ability to directly scan whole grains and fresh forages can also be considered as major steps, if not leaps. More adventurous NIR applications have emerged in animal nutrition, with emphasis on estimating the functional properties of feeds, such as in vivo digestibility, voluntary intake, protein degradability and in vitro assays to simulate starch digestion. The potential to monitor the diets of grazing animals by using faecal NIR spectra is also now being realized. NIR measurements on animal carcasses and even live animals have also been attempted, with varying degrees of success, The use of discriminant analysis in these fields is proving a useful tool. The latest giant leap is likely to be the advent of relatively low-cost, portable and ultra-fast diode array NIR instruments, which can be used “on-site” and also be fitted to forage or grain harvesters. The fodder and livestock industries are no longer satisfied with what we once thought was revolutionary: a 2-3 day laboratory turnaround for fred quality testing. This means that the instrument needs to be taken to the samples rather than vice versa. Considerable research is underway in this area, but the challenge of calibration transfer and maintenance of instrument networks of this type remains. The animal world is currently facing its biggest challenges ever; animal welfare, alleged effects of animal products on human health, environmental and economic issues are difficult enough, but the current calamities of BSE and foot and mouth disease are “the last straw” NIR will not of course solve all these problems, but is already proving useful in some of these areas and will continue to do so.

Jinhae Bay located in the southern of Korean Peninsular is an important spawning area in Korea. By some preliminary studies it was measured several times that adult Pacific codes (Gadus microcephalus) were passed (swimming layer: 15 to 18 m) over a submerged sea tunnel (sea bottom: about 30 m) rather than another immigration route when the Pacific codes were tagged surgically with an acoustic transmitters and released inside of the Bay. There is a possibility that the Pacific codes and the other fishes use the route on the sea tunnel as an immigration route are affected by a human-generated underwater noise around the sea tunnel due to the sea tunnel traffic. On this study the 25-hour measurements of the underwater noise level by water layer were conducted with a hydrophone attached on a portable CTD and an underwater noise level meter during four seasons, and the acoustical characteristics of the underwater noise was analyzed. The mean traffic volume for one hour at the sea tunnel on the spring was shown the largest value of 1,408 [standard deviation (SD): 855] vehicles among four seasons measurement. The next one was ordered on the autumn [1,145 (SD: 764)], winter [947 (SD: 598)] and summer [931 (SD: 558)] vehicles. Small size vehicle was formed 84.3% of the traffic volume, and ultra-small size, medium size, large size and extra-large size of the vehicle were taken possession of 8.7%, 3.2%, 2.0% and 1.8%, respectively. On the daily change of the noise level in vertical during four seasons the noise level of 5 m-layer was shown the highest value of 121.2 (SD: 3.6) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$), the next one was 10 m-layer [120.7 (SD: 3.5)], 2 m- and 15 m-layer [120.3 (SD: 3.5 to 3.7)] and 1 m-layer [119.2 (SD: 3.6)] dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$). In relation with the seasonal change of the noise level the average noise level measured during autumn was shown the highest value of 123.9 (SD: 2.6) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$), the next was during summer [121.4 (SD: 3.2)], spring [118.0 (SD: 3.4)] and winter [116.5 (SD: 5.1)] dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$). In results of eigenray computation when the real bathymetry data (complicate shape of sea bed) was applied the average number of eigenray was 2.68 times (eigenrays: 11.03 rays) higher than those of model bathymetry (flat and slightly sloped sea bottom). When the real bathymetric data toward inside (water depth becomes shallow according to a distance between the source of noise and hydrophone) of the Bay was applied on the eigenrays calculation the number of the eigenray was 1.31 times (eigenrays: 12.49 rays) larger than the real bathymetric data toward outside (water depth becomes deep with respect to the distance). But when the model bathymetric data toward inside of the Bay was applied the number of the eigenray was 1.05 times (eigenrays: 4.21 rays) larger than the model bathymetric data toward outside.

In this paper, when the composite beam is made with UHPC deck and steel girder, the steel girder takes the form of the inverted-T shape without top flange because of high strength and stiffness of UHPC deck. There is no evaluation by experiment and analysis about the shear connector behavior on the web of steel girder and flexural behavior of inverted-T shape composite beam. By this reason, this study compares between experiment and analysis by using tension softening model of UHPC on the basis of flexural test results of 16 members considering compressive strength of UHPC, spacing of stud and thickness of deck as variables. The results of tensile strength of UHPC by inverse analysis were 6.57 MPa(in case of 120 MPa) and 9.57 MPa(in case of 150 MPa). In case of the test members with small stud spacing, the results of analysis and test were close clearly, and the test members with thick deck and low UHPC compressive strength also similar, but effects were small. As it compared between analysis and experiment totally, the results of analysis and experiment agree well. So the tension softening model of UHPC is reasonably reflected on the real behavior of composite beam of UHPC.
In this paper, we implemented an on-board miniaturization antenna operating 2.4 GHz using MZR(Mu Zero Resonator). It is must be operating under the constraint that the size of the small terminal PCB should be $78{\times}38{\times}0.8mm^3$ and the size of the system should be $63{\times}38{\times}0.8mm^3$ and the size of the radiating part should be $15{\times}38{\times}0.8mm^3$. The feeding structure uses a CPW structure for stable feeding and a feeding point at the upper left of the system board. A magnetic field coupling structure is used for coupling the feeding part and the antenna. The resonance frequency of the MZR is determined by the series inductance and capacitance of the cell, so the gap between the cells, the length of the cell, the length of the interdigital capacitor, and the spacing between the radiation part and the ground plane are analyzed. The antenna was designed and fabricated using the results. The total size of the antenna including the feed structure is $20.8{\times}9.0{\times}0.8mm^3$, and the electrical length is $0.1664{\lambda}_0{\times}0.072{\lambda}_0{\times}0.0064{\lambda}_0$. The measurement result for 10 dB bandwidth, gain and directivity are 440 MHz(18.3%), 0.4405 dB, and 2.722 dB respectively. It is confirmed that the radiation pattern has omnidirectional characteristics and it can be applied to ultra small terminal antenna.
Purpose: The introduction of image guided radiation therapy/four-dimensional radiation therapy (IGRT/4DRT) potentially increases the accumulated dose to patients from imaging and verification processes as compared to conventional practice. It is therefore essential to investigate the level of the imaging dose to patients when IGRT/4DRT devices are installed. The imaging dose level was monitored and was compared with the use of pre-IGRT practice. Materials and Methods: A four-dimensional CT (4DCT) unit (GE, Ultra Light Speed 16), a simulator (Varian Acuity) and Varian IX unit with an on-board imager (OBI) and cone beam CT (CBCT) were installed. The surface doses to a RANDO phantom (The Phantom Laboratory, Salem, NY USA) were measured with the newly installed devices and with pre-existing devices including a single slice CT scanner (GE, Light Speed), a simulator (Varian Ximatron) and L-gram linear accelerator (Varian, 2100C Linac). The surface doses were measured using thermo luminescent dosimeters (TLDs) at eight sites-the brain, eye, thyroid, chest, abdomen, ovary, prostate and pelvis. Results: Compared to imaging with the use of single slice non-gated CT, the use of 4DCT imaging increased the dose to the chest and abdomen approximately ten-fold ($1.74{\pm}0.34$ cGy versus $23.23{\pm}3.67$cGy). Imaging doses with the use of the Acuity simulator were smaller than doses with the use of the Ximatron simulator, which were $0.91{\pm}0.89$ cGy versus $6.77{\pm}3.56$ cGy, respectively. The dose with the use of the electronic portal imaging device (EPID; Varian IX unit) was approximately 50% of the dose with the use of the L-gram linear accelerator ($1.83{\pm}0.36$ cGy versus $3.80{\pm}1.67$ cGy). The dose from the OBI for fluoroscopy and low-dose mode CBCT were $0.97{\pm}0.34$ cGy and $2.3{\pm}0.67$ cGy, respectively. Conclusion: The use of 4DCT is the major source of an increase of the radiation (imaging) dose to patients. OBI and CBCT doses were small, but the accumulated dose associated with everyday verification need to be considered.

In general, the response of bulk material is independent of its size when it comes to considering classical elasticity theory. Because the surface to bulk ratio of the large solids is very small, the influence of surface can be negligible. But the surface effect plays important role as the surface to bulk ratio becomes larger, that is, the contribution of the surface effect must be considered in nano-size elements such as thin film or beam structure. Molecular dynamics computation has been a conventional way to analyze these ultra-thin structures but this method is limited to simulate on the order of $10^6{\sim}10^9$ atoms for a few nanoseconds, and besides, very time consuming. Analysis of structures in submicro to micro range(thin-film, wire etc.) is difficult with classical molecular dynamics due to the restriction of computing resources and time. Therefore, in this paper, the continuum-based method is considered to simulate the overall physical and mechanical properties of the structures in nano-scale, especially, for the thin-film.

In Recent results suggested that doping $Ta_2O_5$ with a small amount of $TiO_2$ using standard ceramic processing techniques can increase the dielectric constant of $Ta_2O_5$ significantly. In this paper, this concept is studied using RTCVD (Rapid Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition). Ti-doped $Ta_2O_5$ films are deposited using $TaC_{12}H_{30}O_5N$, $C_8H_{24}N_4Ti$, and $O_2$ on both Si and $NH_3$-nitrided Si substrates. An $NH_3$-based interface layer at the Si surface is used to prevent interfacial oxidation during the CVD process and post deposition annealing is performed in $H_2/O_2$ ambient to improve film quality and reduce leakage current. A sputtered TiN layer is used as a diffusion barrier between the Al gate electrode and the $TaTi_xO_y$ dielectric. XPS analyses confirm the formation of a ($Ta_2O_5)_{1-x}(TiO_2)_x$ composite oxide. A high quality $TaTi_xO_y$ gate stack with EOT (Equivalent Oxide Thickness) of $7{\AA}$ and leakage current $Jg=O.5A/textrm{cm}^2$ @ Vg=-1.0V has been achieved. We have also succeeded in forming a $TaTi_x/O_y$ composite oxide by rapid thermal oxidation of the as-deposited CVD TaTi films. The electrical properties and Jg-EOT characteristics of these composite oxides are remarkably similar to that of RTCVD $Ta_2O_5, suggesting that the dielectric constant of $Ta_2O_5$ is not affected by the addition of $TiO_2$.

This work presents a 14b 200KS/s $0.87mm^2$ 1.2mW 0.18um CMOS algorithmic A/D converter (ADC) for intelligent sensors control systems, battery-powered system applications simultaneously requiring high resolution, low power, and small area. The proposed algorithmic ADC not using a conventional sample-and-hold amplifier employs efficient switched-bias power-reduction techniques in analog circuits, a clock selective sampling-capacitor switching in the multiplying D/A converter, and ultra low-power on-chip current and voltage references to optimize sampling rate, resolution, power consumption, and chip area. The prototype ADC implemented in a 0.18um 1P6M CMOS process shows a measured DNL and INL of maximum 0.98LSB and 15.72LSB, respectively. The ADC demonstrates a maximum SNDR and SFDR of 54dB and 69dB, respectively, and a power consumption of 1.2mW at 200KS/s and 1.8V. The occupied active die area is $0.87mm^2$.

The source/channel/drain regions are formed by ion implantation with different dopant types of $n^+/p^{(+)}/n^+$ in the fabrication of the conventional n-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor(NMOSFET). In implementing the ultra-small devices with channel length of sub-30 nm, in order to achieve the designed effective channel length accurately, low thermal budget should be considered in the fabrication processes for minimizing the lateral diffusion of dopants although the implanted ions should be activated as completely as possible for higher on-current level. Junctionless (JL) MOSFETs fully capable of the the conventional NMOSFET operations without p-type channel for enlarging the process margin are under researches. In this paper, the optimum design of the JL MOSFET based on silicon nanowire (SNW) structure is carried out by 3-D device simulation and the basic radio frequency (RF) characteristics such as conductance, maximum oscillation frequency($f_{max}$), current gain cut-off frequency($f_T$) for the optimized device. The channel length was 30 run and the design variables were the channel doping concentration and SNW radius. For the optimally designed JL SNW NMOSFET, $f_T$ and $f_{max}$ high as 367.5 GHz and 602.5 GHz could be obtained, respectively, at the operating bias condition $V_{GS}$ = $V_{DS}$ = 1.0 V).
