  • Cloud computing technology is expanding its services to individual consumers through storage and applications. This study aims to compare the predisposing factors that affect the perceived value and the intention to use between users who have used or experienced services and those who have never experienced services from the perspective of benefit and sacrifice based on the value-based acceptance model. The results showed that the sacrifice factor (perceived cost) had a significant effect on perceived value and perceived value had a significant effect on intention to use, but showed a difference in perceived benefit. Perceived usefulness, ubiquity, and network effects had significant impact for experienced users' perceived value, but for inexperienced users, ubiquity did not have significant impact. In addition, usefulness was the most significant factor for experienced users while network effect was the same for inexperienced users. The results of this study suggest that consumers' intention to use personal cloud service is evaluated as a benefit and sacrifice point and a new attempt to re-examine the role of previous experience.

  • This study explores critical and success factor of benefits and risks for predicting the acceptance of QR code virtual fashion stores. As an exploratory approach, this study conducted focus group interviews(FGI) with 21 panels who had experience with selected QR virtual stores (e.g., Home plus, 11th Street, Pin & Fit). Content analysis was used to generate 184 excerpts and classify into benefits and risks related to QR code virtual stores. With respect to benefits, content analysis identified four factors: Affective appeal, perceived usefulness, ubiquity, and brand promotion. Also, contents regarding perceived risks were classified into four factors: Complexity, lack of information, lack of technology infrastructure, and perceived cost. A managerial implication was discussed for predicting consumer technology acceptance of a QR code virtual store in the fashion retailing market.

  • This study examines whether key characteristics of cloud computing services would affect the intention of use for personalized cloud computing services. The research model was generated based on Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with resistance variable, and verified statistically by undertaking a survey about the perception of personal users. As the results of this analysis, we could find the structural relationship among the factors affecting adoption of the cloud computing service. We found that the expectation of ubiquity as a representative function of the cloud computing service meaningfully affected the perceived ease of use and resistance, and that the relativeness with existing services also meaningfully affected the perceived ease of use, but not the resistance. In addition, the moderating effects of use experience in the path leading from the perceived ease of use and resistance to the intention of use were identified. This study will provide diverse implications for the companies providing personalized cloud computing services.

  • Recent paradigm in technology shifts from object-based technology to environment-based technology. Issue here is interaction among humans and the world around humans, which is natural and artificial "space." Holistic interactions based on "Mom (embodiment)" suggest a good starting point for exploring this issue. Soft engineering, "Mom," holistic interactions, tangible space, ubiquitous computing, science of emotion, and interactive media are key concepts in interactive technology. Interactive tangible media "iT_Media" is proposed to explore and synthesize these ideas. Interactive technology initiative (ITI) is an interdisciplinary research group to search for the proper technology and the proper way of implementing technology: "interactive technology" or "soft engineering." Some experimental activities conducted by ITI are presented in this session, "Interactive Technology."

  • Soft engineering, based on symbiotic coexistence of human, machines and environment, is a new engineering field to explore the proper technology and the proper way of engineering. To explore soft engineering intents easily, various robot projects at Pusan National University conducted are presented. Thought experiment, interactive e-leaning, rapid prototyping engineering, biomimciry, tangibility, and ubiquity are concepts to be explored. Thought experiments projects are organized and performed, which include robot assembly game, Turing test, and robotics in science fiction. "Junk robot project" and "ubiquitous Pusan National University (u-PNU) project" have been organized. Also, bug robot project, interactive robot project, and interactive emotional robot projects are introduced. Weekly science fiction films are shown and discussed.

  • Solar energy will be an increasingly important part of power generation because of its ubiquity abundance, and sustainability. To manage effectively solar energy to power system, it is essential part In this paper, we develop the PV power prediction algorithm using adaptive neuro-fuzzy model considering various input factors such as temperature, solar irradiance, sunshine hours, and cloudiness. To evaluate performance of the proposed model according to input factors, we performed various experiments by using real data.

  • Moblie games are getting popular in that more mobile handsets are available. The mobile phone is expected to be the dominant platform the way the PC turned out to be the dominant platform of desktop computing. Ubiquity enables the mobile phone users interact socially with other users. Mobile game developers are now competing globally on the Apple Appstore, where any developers in the world are able to publish their own games easily. This study reviews the case of Gamevil, one of the leading mobile game service providers, from its foundation to the current global competition in order to draw implications for mobile game industry.

  • The Property P Conjecture States that the 3-manifold $Y_r$ obtained by Dehn surgery on a non-trivial knot in $S^3$ with surgery coefficient ${\gamma}{\in}Q$ has the non-trivial fundamental group (so not simply connected). Recently Kronheimer and Mrowka provided a proof of the Property P conjecture for the case ${\gamma}={\pm}2$ that was the only remaining case to be established for the conjecture. In particular, their results show that the two phenomena of having a cyclic fundamental group and having a homomorphism with non-cyclic image in SU(2) are quite different for 3-manifolds obtained by Dehn filings. In this paper we extend their results to some other Dehn surgeries via the A-polynomial, and provide more evidence of the ubiquity of the above mentioned phenomena.

  • The increasing ubiquity of wireless networks and decreasing cost of hardware is fueling a proliferation of mobile devices. These devices are enabling a new revolution in mobile technology, not only running locally on them, but running on cloud as a service as well. From web browsing, email, or video conferencing, presentations to movie and music entertainment or games, multimedia applications, mobile cloud enables providing such diverse applications. Many technologies have been designed to address the limited hardware and performance in thin client PC. However, with the assorted network and graphic condition, those proposed technologies is obligated to alter aim to adapt mobile cloud. In this paper, we provide a survey of client technology on a Server that can be sufficed the requirements of Mobile Cloud. We also analyze each technology and classify with its individual difficulties and challenges.

  • Mobile service, which is related to all stages of supply chain, can enhance the efficiency of perception and response of the participants. The advantage of mobile service is ubiquity, speed, traceability, positioning, personalization and safety. The purpose of this paper is to propose an overall framework utilizing mobile service in SCM. In the areas of inventory management, remote diagnostics, communications with field workers, and order fulfillment, customer-centric mobile supply web is proposed and implemented for the wireless warehousing and replenishment system.
