  • IR classified by wavelength three parts NIR, MIR. FIR. There is FIR which is radiated from healthy human body the wave length is 8-14m. The Sun's ray is composed of Infared(49%), Visible light(40%) and Ultra violet(11%), however the ray getting to the earth is FIR(60%), IR(20%), and UV(20%). Human beings has utilized FIR already from time immemorial. Hershel found out Infrared for the first time, in the Industrial Revolution the Infrared and FIR had been begun to use making products. FIR with low temperature can deeply penetrate on the human body composed things without troublesome, since FIR has effectively operated on the human body at low temperature (35-40 $^{\circ}$C). In this study, we experimented in the specific temperature FlR radiation intensity. water consumption rate, feed consumption rate. survival rate and mean of weight balance with FlR radiation instrument. According to the results, the FlR radiation to the mice assisted to increase the survival rate.

Quantitative Visualization of Dissolved Oxygen Concentration Field in Micro Flows using PtOEP/PS Membrane (마이크로 유동에서 PtOEP/PS 박막을 이용한 용존 산소 농도장의 정량적 가시화)

  • It is highly needed to measure the dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration field in water for a variety of purposes such as biological, industrial, environmental monitoring and medical application. Application of PSP (Pressure Sensitive Paint) which is sensitive to oxygen concentration has been carried out to measure DO concentration field using PtOEP/PS film and intensity based method under the UV-LEDs illumination. A micro round water jet having 100% of DO was obliquely impinged on to a PtOEP/PS film coated plate placed in a 0% of DO water container. DO concentration fields on the impinging plate were quantitatively visualized with a $2.94\;{\mu}m$ of spatial resolution. Through pixel-by-pixel calibration, uncertainty of each pixel by different sensitivity, different dye concentration and non-uniformity of illumination was removed. It is demonstrated that the high DO concentration region was coincided with the impingement area. The DO concentration gradient due to DO diffusion was affected by Reynolds number.

Analysis of a processed sample surface using SCM and AFM (공초점현미경과 원자현미경을 이용한 가공된 시료 표면의 형상측정)

  • Surface qualities of a micro-processed sample with a pulse laser have been investigated by making use of scanning confocal microscope(SCM) and atomic force microscope(AFM). Samples are bump electrodes and ITO glass of LCD module used in a mobile phone and a wafer surface scribed by UV laser. A image of $140{\times}120{\mu}m^2$ is obtained within 1 second by SCM because scan speed of a x-axis and y-axis are 1kHz and 1Hz, respectively. AFM is able to correctly measure the hight and width of ITO, and scribing depth and width of a wafer with a resolution less than 300nm. However, the scan speed is slow and it is difficult to distinguish a surface composed of different kinds of materials. Results show that SCM is preferable to obtain a image of a sample composed of different kinds of material than AFM because the intensity of a reflected light from the surface is different for each material.

Properties of Nitrogen and Aluminum Codoped ZnO Thin Films Grown by Radio-frequency Magnetron Sputtering (라디오파 마그네트론 스퍼터링으로 성장한 질소와 알루미늄 도핑된 ZnO 박막의 특성)

  • Nitrogen and aluminum codoped ZnO(NAZO) thin films were grown on glass substrates with changing the nitrogen flow ratio by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering. The structural, optical, and electrical properties of the NAZO films were investigated. The surface morphologies and the structural properties of the thin films were analyzed by using the X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The NAZO thin film, deposited at nitrogen flow ratio of 0%, showed a strongly c-axis preferred orientation and the lowest resistivity of $3.2{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}cm$. The intensity of ZnO(002) diffraction peak was decreased gradually with increasing the nitrogen flow ratio. The optical properties of the films were measured by UV-VIS spectrophotometer and the optical transmittances for all the samples were found to be an average 90% in the visible range. Based on the transmittance value, the optical bandgap energy for the NAZO thin film deposited at nitrogen flow ratio of 0% was determined to be 3.46 eV. As for the electrical properties, the carrier concentration and the hall mobility were decreased, but the electrical resistivity was increased as the nitrogen flow ratio was increased.

Study on Auto Focusing System of Laser Beam by Using Fiber Confocal Method (파이버 공초점법을 이용한 레이저 빔 자동 초점 제어 장치에 관한 연구)

  • Auto focusing system to find optimized focal position of laser beam used for material process has been investigated by using fiber confocal method. Wavelength of laser diode (LD) and diameter of single-mode fiber are 780nm and $5.3{\mu}m$, respectively. Intensity distributions of beam reflected from the surface of mirror and silicon bare wafer have been observed in a gaussian form. Experimental results show that focal position obtained by LD is shifted from one observed from surface scribed by laser about $80{\mu}m$. It is due to the difference of wavelength and each divergence of between LD and laser used for material process. It is confirmed that auto focusing control system through position calibration has operated steadily.

  • Two new D-${\pi}$-A dyes were synthesized by the condensation reaction between active methyl and aromatic aldehyde and its biothiol sensing properties in DMSO/water were investigated by UV-vis spectroscopy. Upon addition of $Hg^{2+}$, the solution of D-${\pi}$-A dyes showed color change and the absorption band shows a formation of a dye-$Hg^{2+}$ coordination complex. These dyes exhibited high selectivity for $Hg^{2+}$ as compared with other cations. The dye-$Hg^{2+}$ could be recovered by adding glutathion(GSH). The absorption intensity of dye-$Hg^{2+}$ increased only by the addition of glutathione(GSH). The competition experiments revealed that no obvious interference was observed by performing the titration with the mixture of glutathione(GSH) and other amino acids. The results indicated that these D-${\pi}$-A dyes were highly selective for glutathione(GSH) detection.

Degradation of MEK using continuous single module photo-catalytic reactor (연속식 광촉매반응기를 이용한 MEK 분해특성 연구)

  • The degradation of methylethylkeone(MEK) was investigated by the continuous single module photocatalytic reactor. Operational conditions were initial concentration of MEK, intensity of photon flux, and activity change according to the long time operation. The photocatalytic degradation was decreased with the increase of MEK concentration, and the degree of decrease was larger at higher flow rate. Removal efficiency of photocatalytic reactor was decreased with the increase of reactor diameter and lamp wavelength under the same residence time condition. Continuous single module photocatalytic reactor was successfully operated without any activity drop during 120hrs operation.

  • Horseradish peroxidase(HRP) in organic solvent can be reactivated by evaporation. In order to measure the evaporation effect, the enzyme solutions were obtained by evaporation and dilution of organic solvent, respectively. Although two situations were thermodynamically identical, the activity from evaporation was higher than that from dilution. From the UV absorbance and the fluorescence intensity mesurements, it can be explained that reactivation of enzyme activity might be caused by reversible folding, and the enzyme obtained by evaporation was more refolded than that obtained by dilution.

  • A flame detector responds either to radiant energy visible to the human eye or outside the range of human vision. Such a detector is sensitive to glowing embers, coals, or flames which radiate energy of sufficient intensity and spectral quality to actuate the alarm. An infra-red detectors can respond to the total IR component of the flame alone or in combination with flame flicker in the frequency range of 5 to 30 Hz. A major problem in the use of infrared detectors receiving total IR radiation is the possible interference of solar radiation in the infrared region. When detectors are located in places shielded from the sun, such as vaults, filtering or shielding the unit from the sun's rays is unnecessary. In this study, we proposed method for redue a false alarm with using filtering & sensor technology for distinguish of causes of raise a false alarm and pure flame.
