Communication flow is changing rapidly. Recently, a range of wearable devices such as wearable glasses and wearable watch, have been launched. These kinds of wearable devices help people to live a more comfortable life. Wearable devices most have an antenna for wireless communication. This paper reports a transparent antenna that is made of an optically transparent material for wearable glasses. Transparent antenna can be applied to smart windows and will not disturb the view of user. IZTO/Ag/IZTO multilayer electrode has higher electrical and optical properties. This antenna is available because of its good electrical properties. This study measured the performance of the proposed transparent antenna, which is made of a multilayer electrode, applied to a lens. The proposed antenna was simulated with several substrates. The antenna impedance was matched with length and width of the antenna. The antenna's conductivity and transparency was measured using a HMS-3000 and UV-spectrometer. A 40nm thick Ag single layer antenna was fabricated on a flexible polyimide substrate for comparing the antenna performances. The fabricated antenna is useable at a frequency of 2.4-2.5GHz, which is suitable for Wifi communications and has peak gain of 2.89dBi and an efficiency of 34%.
In this study, we used hybrid module that was composed of packing granular activated carbon (GAC) between module inside and outside of ceramic microfiltration membrane for advanced drinking water treatment. Instead of natural organic matters (NOM) and fine inorganic particles in natural water source, synthetic water was prepared with humic acid and kaolin. Packing fraction of GAC was changed from 0 to 24.05% to see effect of packing fraction. As a result, changing curves of resistance of membrane fouling ($R_f$) and permeate flux (J) during 3 h operation were almost overlapped independent of packing fraction of GAC. Treatment efficiencies of turbidity were very high above 99.46% at all packing fractions of GAC. And treatment efficiency of NOM, which was measured by $UV_{254}$ absorbance, was the highest value of 99.43% at packing fraction of 24.05%. Then, we operated the hybrid process during 13 h at packing fraction of 24.05%. As a result, J was rapidly dropped according to increase of membrane fouling within initial 1 h of operation, and almost constant after 3 h. And treatment efficiencies of turbidity and NOM were stable and high values of 99.52% and 96.63%, respectively.
This study was conducted to increase the efficiency of farming practice in rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, by sex reversal and chromosome-set manipulation techniques. To obtain phenotypic males, hormonal sex reversal was carried out using an exogenous hormone treatment method. 5 mg of 17 alpha-methyltestosterone per kg diet was supplied for 82 days after first feeding at $10^{\circ}C$ and $13^{\circ}C$. More than 93% of the male population was produced by this method and growth of hormone-treated fish at $13^{\circ}C$ was faster than that of untreated bi-sexual groups. Induced diploid gynogenesis was carried out using artificial insemination of UV-irradiated sperm into haploid eggs. Based on the appearance of the rate of haploid syndrome and survival of embryo, a UV ray dose of at least $3,600\;erg/cm^2$ was required to inactivate rainbow trout sperm genetically. Haploid embryos were restored to diploid by blocking the extrusion of the second polar body using heat shock treatment at $28^{\circ}C$ for 20 min, 10 min post insemination. Gynogenetic diploid sex ratios were confirmed after maturation of the fish erythrocyte measurements and chromosome counts.
In this study, $TiO_2$ powders were prepared by hydro-thermal synthesis with titanium tetra isopropoxide. The prepared $TiO_2$ and the commercial $TiO_2$(P-25, Degussa) were by impregnating $H_2PtCl_6$ solution or the leached solution from the waste catalytic converter of automobile. Modified photocatalysts were analyzed by ICP-AES, UV-DRS, XRD, SEM. And band-gap energy of modified photo-catalyst was found to decreased to 1.76eV and basic structure was changed upon modification by leached solution. Modified photocatalysts were coated on the wallpaper after using mixed solution with adhesive materials(PVC). And then to know the modified photo catalysts tested the reactivity and quantum efficiency in the mixed gas with NO as reactants in the photo catalytic reactor. In the gas phase, photo-catalytic activity of NO was the highest for modified P-25 catalysts(P-25(w)) that P-25(w) was impregnated by leached solution of wasted catalytic converter.

In this study, removals of 1-naphthol by oxidative-coupling reaction using birnessite, one of natural Mn oxides present in soil, was investigated in various experimental conditions(reaction time, Mn oxide loadings, pH, etc). Removal efficiency of 1-naphthol by birnessite was high in all the experimental conditions, and UV-vis. and mass spectrometric analyses on the supernatant after reaction confirmed that the reaction products were oligomers formed by oxidative-coupling reaction. Pseudo-first order rate constants, f, for the oxidative transformation of 1-naphthol by birnessite was derived from the kinetic experiments under various amount of birnessite loadings, and using the observed pseudo-first order rate constants with respect to birnessite loadings, surface area-normalized specific rate constant, $k_{surf}$ was also determined to be $9.31{\times}10^{-4}(L/m^2{\cdot}min)$ for 1-naphthol. In addition, the oxidative transformation of 1-naphthol was found to be dependent on solution pH, and the pseudo-first order rate constants were increased from 0.129 at pH 10 to 0.187 at pH 4.
ZnS:Mn/ZnS core-shell quantum dots (QDs), were synthesized via a thermal decomposition reaction of organometallic precursors in a hot solvent mixture. The synthetic conditions of the quantum dots were monitored at various reaction temperatures for the core formation, while the shell formation temperature was fixed at 135$^{\circ}C$. The obtained colloidal nanocrystals at corresponding temperatures were characterized by UV-Vis, solution photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopies, and further obtained powders were characterized by XRD, HR-TEM, and EDXS analyses. The synthetic temperature condition to obtain the best PL emission intensity for the core-shell QD was 135$^{\circ}C$, for both core and shell formation. At this temperature, solution PL spectrum showed a narrow emission peak at 583 nm with a relative PL quantum efficiency of 42.15%. In addition, the measured spherical particle sizes for the ZnS:Mn/ZnS nanocrystals via HR-TEM were in the range of 4.0 to 5.4 nm, while ellipsoidal particles were obtained at 150$^{\circ}C$.
To develop the carrier of hydrophobic antifungal agents based on low molecular weight water-soluble chitosan (LMWSC), LMWSC was chemically modified with deoxycholic acid (DA) which is one of the bile acid as a hydrophobic group. The nanoparticles (WSCDA) using DA conjugated LMWSC were characterized using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and transmittance electron microscope (TEM). The particle size of WSCDA ranged from 250 to 350 nm and increased with the number of DA substitution. The loaded itraconazole as an antifungal agent WSCDA nanoparticles (WSCDA-ITCN) were prepared by solvent evaporation method. The drug content and the loading efficiency were investigated approximately $9{\sim}10%$ and $61{\sim}68%$ by UV spectrophotometer, respectively. The release of drug from nanoparticles was slow and showed sustained release characteristics. Based on the results of release study that the higher DA contents in WSCDA, the slower the releasing rate, the WSCDA-ITCN could be used as an excellent antifungal agent.
The basic mechanistic aspects of the interaction and practical considerations related to polymer ablation were briefly reviewed. Photochemical and photothermal effects, which highly depend on laser wavelength have close correlation with each other. In this study, multi-scanning laser ablation processing of polymer with a DPSS (Diode Pumped Solid State) 3rd harmonic Nd:YVO$_4$ laser (355 nm) was developed to fabricate a three-dimensional micro shape. Polymer fabrication using DPSSL has some advantages compared with the conventional polymer ablation process using KrF and ArF laser with 248 nm and 193 nm wavelength. These advantages include pumping efficiency and low maintenance cost. And this method also makes it possible to fabricate 2D patterns or 3D shapes rapidly and cheaply because CAD/CAM software and precision stages are used without complex projection mask techniques. Photomachinability of polymer is highly influenced by laser wavelength and by the polymer's own chemical structure. So the optical characteristics of polymers for a 355 nm laser source is investigated experimentally and theoretically. The photophysical and photochemical parameters such as laser fluence, focusing position, and ambient gas were considered to reduce the plume effect which re-deposits debris on the surface of substrate. These phenomena affect the surface roughness and even induce delamination around the ablation site. Thus, the process parameters were tuned to optimize for gaining precision surface shape and quality. This maskless direct photomachining technology using DPSSL could be expected to manufacture tile prototype of micro devices and molds for the laser-LIGA process.

In this study, photocatalytic degradation and mineralization of bisphenol A (BPA), which has been listed as one of endocrine disruptors, were carried out in the CPC system using $Tio_2$ slurry and UVA irradiation. The degradation efficiency has been investigated under the controlled parameters including initial concentration (5, 10, 20 mg/L), dosage of $Tio_2$ (0.1, 0.5, 1.0 g/L), UVA power (0, 80, 120 W) and temperature (0, 20, 30). At 10mg/L of initial concentration, BPA was degraded above 80% after 10min, BPA were degraded 97% and 49% at 20 mg/L and 30 mg/L, respectively. At $Tio_2$ dosage was 0.1 and 0.5 g/L, the degradations of BPA showed similar trend and were about 70% after 1 hr, and the degradation of BPA was above 80% after 30 min at 1 g/L of $Tio_2$ dosage. The increase of degradation seem to be due to the increase in the total surface area, namely number of active sites, available for the photocatalytic reaction as the dosage of photocatalyst increased. When the UVA power was 120 W, BPA was degraded rapidly above 60% after 10min of reaction time. To investigate the effect of temperature, carried out experiment controlled temperature, there were no significant differences depending on the temperature. After 1hr, the degradation of BPA were 46%, 67%, and 69% at 10, 20 and $30^{\circ}C$.
In this study, integrated hybrid system (IHS) composed of two alternatively-operating UV/photocatalytic reactor (AOPR) process and biofilter processes of a biofilter system having two units (i.e., Rup and Rdn) with an improved design (R reactor) and a conventional biofilter (L reactor) was constructed, and its transient behavior was observed to perform the successful treatment of waste air containing ethanol and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). At the IHS-operating stages of HA1, HA2 and HA3T of reversed feed direction, the AOPR process showed not only ethanol-removal efficiencies of 55, 50 and 45%, respectively, but also H2S-removal efficiencies of 70, 60 and 37%, respectively. In particular, a drastic decrease of H2S-removal efficiency at the stage of HA3T was observed due to a doubling of H2S-inlet concentration fed to AOPR from 10 ppmv to 20 ppmv at the stage of HA3T. The order of ethanol-breakthroughs and the order of the magnitude of ethanol-removal efficiencies at the sampling ports of each unit of R reactor at the stages of HA1, HB1, HA2, HB2, and the first half of HA3T, were reversed, respectively, at the stages of the second half of HA3T and HB3T. In case of H2S, R reactor did not show H2S-breakthrough as prominent as the ethanol-breakthrough, but showed the trend similar to the ethanol-breakthrough.
